  • kanningt, on 11/08/2008, -1/+2hey wontstoptalking: No. AT&T has a specially labeled iPhone Media Net Package that is tailored to iPhone, and iPhone tailored to it. If you try to access data on a non iPhone plan with an iPhone you will find yourself quite incapable of receiving more than 5-10 kbps with a connection as fickle as a hell cat. Sorry friend.

    I bought an old iPhone (Edge) off craigslist (don't worry- it was in good condition so I took it, and it's fine). I didn't want the expensive iPhone plan, so I jailbroke and unlocked it and popped in my regular at&t sim card from my old razr, which is one a really cheap call-and-text plan. I don't have internet capabilities on my plan right now, and I'm not on the iPhone plan, but if I activate internet for my plan, will my iPhone be able to use it?

    So basically, if I'm asking if I unlock my iPhone (which I did) and activate internet for it, can I have a fully functional iPhone with internet and everything- on a regular phone plan.
