- neelshiv, on 05/04/2009, -30/+403"the front-man for Nine Inch Nails is a digital music visionary"
A bit over the top, maybe?
They should have gone with "***** lyrical wordsmith ***** genius." - grincz, on 05/04/2009, -5/+175why couldn't they create explicit tag? There would be no problem at all.
- greatcaffeine, on 05/04/2009, -22/+181Apple will have to approve the application sooner or later. By keeping the app store so locked down, Apple is only going to end up driving the community to jailbreaking, which only results in less revenue for Apple. It just makes good business sense to let this slide.
- CameronConnor, on 05/04/2009, -38/+180***** or *****
- thejuggernaut11, on 05/04/2009, -23/+158Wait...he was surfing gay pron?
- TylerDuhrdan, on 05/04/2009, -25/+139Same thing with Blu-ray, Esata, and other things the competition offer. I was not going to continue to sit around waiting anymore for Apple to add support for Blu-ray in their "professional" editing software, I was not going to wait for them to pull their heads out of that phones ass.
Just because that laptop is made from a solid block of aluminum, does not mean it is worth not having firewire, blu-ray, Esata and only 1 hard drive, and still be twice the price of a laptop with all of those features.
So I went to PC. - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -4/+97Yes, Walmart helps you parent because you're too busy shopping at Walmart to do it yourself.
- gn0stik, on 05/04/2009, -8/+100It was a hypothetical situation. Just pointing out how likely that scenario is with apple users... You know, since apple users are....
Nevermind. - digitalpencil, on 05/04/2009, -8/+91you like fishsticks?
- digitalpencil, on 05/04/2009, -5/+71"Android is cool, but nobody has an Android phone. Blackberry is OK but the hardware is inconsistent and WinMo straight-up sucks balls." As a Symbian user, i think that sums the market up quite nicely.. Ignoring the fanboy debate, the iPhone OS is currently (not accounting for WebOS as i've not had chance to play with it yet) the most stable and polished mobile development platform available but their store policies are so utterly hypocritical, I fail to see how they haven't remedied the situation yet..
Everyone knows that the app store approval process is *****.. everyone at Apple must be aware of this as well. how in ***** have they not changed anything yet?!
On a side note: Does Walmart really only carry 'clean' albums?! - MooKoo, on 05/04/2009, -7/+67So Apple, let me get this straight; I can go download a song on iTunes that may have language in it, but I can't download an app that may have language in it? Oh wait I get it, you have the little 'explicit' label on the songs, so we know what we're asking for. It all makes sense now, except for the fact that the apps don't use this system as well! I realize that there is some stuff that you could throw the 'explicit' label on, and it wouldn't be enough, but if it's just 'explicit language' that is the problem with the app, just throw the label on it, make your money and make some very happy customers. Common sense yo'.
- thephosphorbox, on 05/04/2009, -3/+60LOL I can get an infanticide simulator for my iPhone and shake babies to death all day long but I can't listen to streaming NIN. hahah Apple, you slay me!
- noahhoward, on 05/04/2009, -2/+58Yes Wal-Mart only carries clean albums.
- Velvolver, on 05/04/2009, -9/+65FAGS
- Dalif, on 05/04/2009, -8/+62Because he can, and still be cooler than you, get more chicks, and earn more cash.
- apzdsx, on 05/04/2009, -4/+57Why the hell not!
- oblivionatm, on 05/04/2009, -19/+71Why was he watching two men have anal sex? :o
- neelshiv, on 05/04/2009, -9/+61It's still funny.
- br0ken1128, on 05/04/2009, -7/+50I've seen some comments in here basically stating that Trent isn't a music visionary and that he's been historically unreliable .. and that he sounds like a cranky old man ..
Trent Reznor has come a long way from who he was and he's doing things that most other artists are afraid to do.. I think he has a grip on where music is going, or where it should be going.. He's gotten past his drug ridden youth and has come out with experience that few others have.. He's pegged the nail on the head with Apple and I think people will take note, especially since he's probably one of the most high profile people to speak out against it. - Ravatar, on 05/04/2009, -0/+34Yes. And Best Buy only stocks the 'explicit' version of albums if they exist.
- alpha88, on 05/04/2009, -2/+34@awesomeR0B0T: I'm not your buddy, guy.
- Seph7, on 05/04/2009, -2/+33Just had a look on the itunes store and it turns out the downward spiral isn't even tagged as explicit on there.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -5/+35Hi, I'm reality - here to tell you that most people don't jailbreak their iPhones. Glad we could touch base... it's really hard to get a hold of you these days.
- Smelltastic, on 05/04/2009, -2/+32He said **** or ****.
- shazbotben, on 05/04/2009, -4/+33Why are you so concerned?
- Oddefellowe, on 05/04/2009, -0/+29He wants to violate them, feel them from the inside, etc...
- 1platypus, on 05/04/2009, -14/+42Got a little off topic didn't we.
- TheHayze, on 05/04/2009, -4/+27I cant see your comment. What did you say?
- BackEnThaWomb, on 05/04/2009, -0/+23Dane Cook has nothing to do with this, but, I agree.
- utnow, on 05/04/2009, -7/+30Meh.... the community that's being "driven" to jailbreaking is shrinking not growing... With each update the features that cause the common user to jailbreak are being added one by one. Sure the true geek crowd are always going to want more and more, and so they will tinker, jailbreak, and hack away. But the majority of the world... the vast majority... will just open the box and start making calls.
And with 3.0 coming out the number of reasons for jailbreaking will be reduced significantly. - FlyinRyan89, on 05/04/2009, -1/+21I'm not your guy, pal...
- chooseapassword, on 05/04/2009, -6/+26in all fairness who hasn't?
- TBBucs, on 05/04/2009, -4/+24No, he's saying that WinMo doesn't really have anything to do with this article.
- DarkShroud, on 05/04/2009, -0/+19It's a requirement for using Safari.
- juanmac, on 05/04/2009, -3/+22Only can say that Apple is making us, the developers, get really angry with those moves.
- Escmymind, on 05/04/2009, -0/+19They have it on podcasts too.
- AlienDevil, on 05/04/2009, -6/+25It is important what he says because he is the only recognized musician out there saying anything. If someone doesn't complain and attempt to change the system we stay stuck with the same old record labels ass-raping you for your money. If that makes him sound like a cranky old man, then so be it. As long as it starts the change, I think he would gladly take that title.
- almondfilter3, on 05/04/2009, -11/+30How about people just stop buying Apple products? You can't have apps because of "naughty" language...we're ***** adults. Well most of us, 18-to-whatever group is a large amount of the Apple demographic. And they just baby us. Enough of the whining about language in this country.
- Hamletlere, on 05/04/2009, -2/+21The same could be said of Mac OS X (less than 7% of the market), yet it is targeted quite often...
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -7/+24I would have an android phone if a good one existed.
- smemily, on 05/04/2009, -1/+18Yes, and they're not clearly marked either so you'll innocently buy a Ben Folds Five dualdisc to find out that Song For The Dumped goes, "give me my money back you *EAR SPLITTING BEEEEEEEP*" when you thought you were getting a real, playable album.
Interestingly the video content on the other side of the disc was not censored at all. All the ***** and bitches and etc were still there. - hardeep1singh, on 05/04/2009, -9/+25Gay porn on a gay phone
- jmiley, on 05/04/2009, -3/+19Dane Cook is retarded
- holygram, on 05/04/2009, -0/+16It isn't gay unless you're gay about it.
A friend of mine taught me that one night.. - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -2/+18But does your Canada have a bible belt that tightens its grip on culture any time it thinks you may offend The Jesus?
- falser, on 05/04/2009, -3/+18Because Apple products are gay.
- billraydrums, on 05/04/2009, -4/+19He's Trent Reznor. It was obviously for a reason.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -2/+17Yeah, I can read, thanks. People are digging you down because you're wrong about most users being jalbroken.
Here you go buddy, I have some info to back up my claim - go ahead and try to find anything to back up yours, I'll save you some time; you won't.
"Although there are no firm numbers, estimates place the number of jailbroken iPhones and iPod touch units currently in use over 2 million."
http://news.digitaltrends.com/news-article/19428/c ...
and here's wikipedia telling you how many phones total have been sold
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone#History_and_av ... - smacksaw, on 05/04/2009, -12/+27So Apple, what do you do when someone like Trent Reznor threatens to take his ball and go home?
As in...what do you do when someone uses your techniques against you?
I'm anxious to see how you play this when you're not in control. -
