- haentz, on 06/06/2008, -4/+86I want to use it as a 3G Modem for my MacbookPro via Bluetooth...
- rebotfc, on 06/05/2008, -4/+82it's quite simple, let me add a telephone number/contact whilst talking to someone on the phone.
- sgvprelude, on 06/06/2008, -1/+62Give it flash so I can watch free porn
- macslut, on 06/06/2008, -1/+61I just want to get laid
- Shatneresque, on 06/06/2008, -7/+65Am I the only person who doesn't really give a crap about video conferencing over a cell network? I've got it on the desktop and I still never use it.
- WiseWeasel, on 06/06/2008, -7/+62This is a pretty good list, and in addition to all these items, I'd like to add:
- Support Universal Mass Storage Device access over USB (like Disk Mode for iPods), so we can easily use spare storage to shuttle computer files.
- Give the user access to the filesystem, both managed locally on the device, and via USB from a computer, without needing to jailbreak.
- Give the user access to the root account if they want, and allow them to install apps and copy files without needing to jailbreak. It's my phone, I bought it fair and square, the root account is MINE, bitches!
- Add file downloading support to Mobile Safari.
- Sell an unlocked version of the iPhone in the US.
- Allow users to use iPhones as an input device for the AppleTV and for Macs (glorified remote control), maybe even remotely over the internet.
- Allow 3rd party devs to distribute plug-ins for the iPhone's default apps, including Safari, so that they could be extended to support new features Apple hesitates to provide for whatever reason. - Tddupre, on 06/06/2008, -6/+47Iphone 3.0 Wish list:
Hologram video player
Used Cooking Oil To Bio-diesel Converter
Tivo Sync
2 Screens
5 TB Of Storage
FREE! - diulei, on 06/06/2008, -9/+37How about not doing distracting things while driving?
- rebotfc, on 06/05/2008, -0/+20Oh and let me email or text someone a contact detail
- WaveRunningNakd, on 06/06/2008, -2/+21My iPhone Wish List:
(1) 3G+
(2) GPS
(3) iChat with iSight & Video Conferencing
(4) Random Ringtones
(5) Voice Dialing
If it has these 5 items, I'm dumping Verizon faster than you can say, "Can you hear me now?" - inactive, on 06/06/2008, -10/+28pull over first *****
- jballer, on 06/06/2008, -0/+11[add call] -> [keypad] -> dial number -> [add contact]
also, FWIW, if you don't hit [add contact] before the current call ends, the numbers you dialed in the 'add call' keypad are preserved in the phone app's keypad pane - Ravatar, on 06/06/2008, -0/+10Seeing as it's illegal to walk along most highways, I doubt running somebody over on one is the problem the original poster is referring to.
- jamend, on 06/06/2008, -0/+10Obvious omissions from original iPhone: Flash, Java, AVI/xvid support, practical bluetooth.
- p3ngwin, on 06/06/2008, -1/+11so the idiot driving & doing dangerous things, wants the rest of the universe to pander to him....so he can continue doing dangerous things?
- billbugger, on 06/06/2008, -1/+11step away from your computer... there is a world out there.
- sambapati87, on 06/06/2008, -0/+9Windows Mobile also blows.
- NotaFanboy87, on 06/06/2008, -1/+10Didn't you click on a link to get here? Talk about stressing yourself out, even in your leisure time you seek to anger yourself. Chill man, the world's still takin care of ya!
- nthpro, on 06/06/2008, -1/+10Bring it to Montana. Bangalore is going to get it before we do.
- e2superman, on 06/06/2008, -0/+8My Wishlist:
People stop making wishlists when the phone is already in production and being shipped to stores.
HINT: Wishing wont help you get your features inlcuded if they are not already in there. - lolgamoff, on 06/06/2008, -0/+8I've used WinMo pretty extensively, and I have to say I'm really not a fan. I think the start menu and home screen combination don't mesh, and applications are a bitch to find. Most sites have über expensive apps that should be freeware, like petty games and small utilities. Pretty much everything is free for jailbroken iPhones, and the appstore in iTunes will at least be a centralized location to purchase stuff.
- SuperRoach, on 06/06/2008, -1/+9Why would you want random ringtones? It breaks the point of having something consistent to know to look out for.
- boardthis, on 06/06/2008, -2/+9no more viewmymessage.com!
- haentz, on 06/06/2008, -0/+7Well, in fact I have a piece of crap Palm Windows Mobile Phone which can do it. So what's your point?
- AvidPreatorian, on 06/06/2008, -0/+7anything with windows mobile can die, right now and forever.
- nepalikakro, on 06/06/2008, -0/+6Gay horses eat Haaaaaaai!
- bluemist, on 06/06/2008, -0/+53G or 3.5G or HSDPA or whatever?
Some 3G speeds only go up to 384kbps.
I expect more clamor if they release that slowpoke version of 3G. - meghalc, on 06/06/2008, -2/+7oh one more week and the fanboys are going to go crazy waiting for it...
thats when they start imagining it. - Clumzie, on 06/06/2008, -0/+5 I'm hoping they have bluetooth file xfer! I'm getting 1 regardless!
- rebotfc, on 06/06/2008, -0/+5Wow you can't believe how long i've tried to figure that out, feel a bit stupid now.
That said... it's not very intuitive to have to do 'add call' a feature i've used like once to then goto keypad to be able to access the 'add-contact' feature. Not very apple like.
It really should be built into the standard keypad.
Many thanks anyway for pointing that out!!! - kinseyincanada, on 06/06/2008, -0/+5all i want is the improved version to be the one thats released in Canada or im going to be pissed.
- inactive, on 06/06/2008, -0/+5horses eat Hay*
- CCmachined, on 06/06/2008, -0/+5your porn sites need Flash? most of... ohh.
- wonkavsn, on 06/06/2008, -1/+6802.1x
- tracydanger, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4I have 40 gigs of music plus a bunch of podcasts. Also, what if I'm going on a plane trip and wanna bring a movie along? As of right now, the iPhone cannot be a truly all-in-one device until it gets higher capacity storage and a better camera. With a 16Gig iPhone, I'll still need my 80 Gig iPod. Your idea of what a cellphone can be is limited if you think there's no need/desire for higher storage capacity. This is more than just a phone, dude (not to mention room for apps & documents).
- rdrean, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4That was funny. I got a good chuckle.
Then I read the responses. It made me sad that those people lead such stiff, unfunny lives. - kraetos, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4Sure, you know the advantages and disadvantages of installing things on the root level. But most users dont, and there's a lot of potential for screwing things up there. It's an issue of practicality, really. Your phone is your phone, and if its made a worse phone because of something you installed that sucks battery life or screws with system processes, Apple has no desire to support that, nor should they.
- josereyes0, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4Where?
- starkruzr, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4gb2/highschool/
- xaxxon, on 06/06/2008, -3/+7No thanks on the physical keyboard that makes it bigger and clunkier. I really like the keyboard setup on the iphone - though I wish more apps had a horizontal mode (I can type in either just fine, though, thank you).
Just because you're missing some features other phones have doesn't mean you're behind. The iPhone is like no other phone in many ways - many of them positive. That's like saying the Macbook Air is behind everybody too, because it doesn't have a DVD drive or multiple external monitor support. It does other things that nothing else does -- just like the iphone. - Vironex, on 06/06/2008, -1/+5Your name and alternative lifestyle suck.
- JohnnyXmas, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4Your point is valid for you, but I have about 50GB that I actively listen to (I delete anything I don't like) and its really irritating to have to take all that time to pick and choose what to put on my 40GB Zune.
- NotaFanboy87, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3I'd like Notes on the iPhone to sync with notes on Mail (To-Do's too!). That would make sense and be nice as well.
- mojonandha, on 06/06/2008, -1/+4i am the first person to see the funny side of this? come on ppl dont be so serious. You are all like the chewlies gum representative.
- JohnnyXmas, on 06/06/2008, -5/+8Wish# 34: I wish Digg users would STFU about the iPhone.
- WiseWeasel, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3Quite right, but how do you explain away how eager they are to sell me a computer running pretty much the same OS, giving me access to the filesystem and the root account without having to forego support? They can ship with the root account disabled, like Macs do, and only have experienced users activate it via the terminal if they need it, doing most everything else via the 'admin' account. The point is that the owner of the hardware should have access to the lowest levels of the OS. There's always the 'restore' button in iTunes if I screw things up too badly... The iPhone is a mobile computer, nothing less, nothing more, and after I've given them my money for one, it's MY computer.
- ThirdPrize, on 06/06/2008, -1/+4I think you will find that some of us do need 20+ Gb of MP3s. If I was going to get one then it would have to replace my 80 Gb iPod. There is no way I would carry both about.
- mrkotter, on 06/06/2008, -1/+4which is still before an Australian launch
- YonicSouth, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3Yeah, the good speaker-independent kind from VoiceSignal
