- Shawnosaurus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28Dugg just because there is splooge on the site's logo. Seriously, the site has potential.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I find that a lot of those top 10 lists have a lot of apps that I never ***** need.
- jamble, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Hooray, can someone please make a list of the top 10 list sites?
- EBFoxbat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12OMG my eyes! They burn! Worst faux web 2.0 implementation EVER!
- anamanaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Looks cool, but already been using www.iusethis.com to track my favorite osx apps and love it.
But yeah, the top 10 mac apps lists need to stop. - stukdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7http://www.freemacware.com
For all your Mac freeware needs... - outoforder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7yea, looks like someone shot a load on the cute lil' badge.
- DurkaMcDurk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6so is 90% of google
- offput, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5nvu sucks balls...
- freeb26, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Looks like a cool site. Got a new mac and still figuring out what apps to load. I love the fact I do not have to worry about spyware with this Mac.
- Floris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I've used iusethis.com since the start and have no intention in changing. All my friends are on IUT and we keep it up to date :-)
- spliffy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5don't worry guys, it's still in beta
- Sabotage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5http://www.iusethis.com - much better IMO
- Dude622, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Except for the splooge, I'm pretty sure that was almost exactly the same logo as the "Web 2.0 Logo Maker" tutorial, right down to the beta sign.
- warona, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i agree with Floris, iusethis.com is definitely a better site.
- NLMA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I kinda like the idea of getting rid of the top-10 lists. But I find that iusethis.com did a good job at that already. I guess that all those listmakers didn't know about it. Ah well, it's a big www ;)
- stupidStan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2umm...
"Do nearly anything using just the keyboard. I barely even use my keyboard anymore - and if you're into that kind of thing, Quicksilver is for you."
I dont get it... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's like www.iusethis.com , but uglier.
- Ecowarrior, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3There is already versiontracker and iusethis why do we need either the endless lists or this?
- jasperdavies, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Cool little system. Like the commenting.
- underrun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I love those lists and usually install all of the programs that are mentioned because I'm sure the list's author does the same job as me and has the same interests as well. Why wouldn't I want those programs??
/sarcasm - kenjura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Windows worked for me. I changed to Mac. Why change? (Actually, I use both, but the point remains.)
I wasn't saying BBEdit doesn't have good features. I'm saying you can get all those features for free in Linux, and even Windows. In Mac, it seems like a much greater percentage of the available software is commercial, where it would be free in Win/Linux. Excepting the OS itself, and video games, I use 100% free and open-source software on my Windows PC. I should hope Mac OSX could match that.
All I was asking was if anyone knew of a good list of apps that were exclusively free and open-source. - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ for good mac app search lovin
- fatcat4009, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would think a site listing "Cool Apps" would have a better color scheme. Possibly blueish or other "cooler" colors. Definitely not red!
- freeb26, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These guys have a sense of humour. Check the FAQ, Point number 10 - > http://www.coolmacapps.com/index.php?_act=list&DO=faq
- CrioKnight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1But isn't the point of a list to be a list? Not a website for apps? Cause if the list grows big enough you might as well just go to VersionTracker.com or Macupdate.com
I prefer the smaller lists every once in a while. - miyamotofreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1macupdate.com has everything. Just hit the freeware tab when you search.
- mickey333, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I completely disagree. I use BBEdit alongside Transmit every single day and love it. You can completely mod it to do whatever you'd like. There may be other stuff out there - but when something works for you, why change?
- Sabotage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If everyone is in agreement about this site, then why so many diggs? iusethis is about the best 'list' site there is.
- Felion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The descriptions of the programs are less 'useful and objective views' and more 'advertising rep on crack'.
"oh, and sexyness beyond compare... did we say that already? You'll love it." [sic]
Riiight.
Nice idea though - alteratti, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5ANOTHER LIST!!!11
- cakesale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1anything like this for windows?
- dmron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Jesus Christ, how many of these god damn top 10 lists do we need? As the poster says, "Every week or two a digger posts some link to some blog about a list of mac software that people MUST HAVE for their shiny new macs." - yah, so let's ***** stop it already. This site is crap.
- kenjura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Okay, good concept, but BBEdit can suck it.
This list should include any commercial software. If you're gonna go into that realm, you might as well just be an ad agency for Adobe and Apple's software department. And, god damn it, why the hell does BBEdit cost money?
Are there any good "top 10" or such sites for Mac software that exclusively list free open-source (or at least just free) software? - polyGone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That red belongs on a Ruby site and the 'web 2.0' banner is pretty F-in generic.
- bloobloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Top 10...
Killer...
I'm not surprised it made the front page with that title! - outoforder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cool site. Ugly design.
Has anyone noticed that it's basically Web 2.0 cookie-cutter? How many sites are going to keep use the multi-pointed star badge? ***** is annoying - and played out. - fireblade278, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0heres a simple link sharing website
www.digg.com - CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2red hurts my eyes...
- searchbuffet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0at least this list looks nice!
- Takeover, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I thought this was gonna be about a serial killer.
- iancampbell2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I looked at this because I was hoping someone had figured a way of 'killing' or getting rid of all these stupid bloody top ten list things that get dug. Turns out its just another one and a bad one at that.
- MiloMindrbindr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1opensourcemac.org
www.freemacware.com
www.freesmug.org
www.macupdate.com/macintel.php - skyfire1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hahahahaha. Idiot.
- sl33stak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Man I'm sick of these lists. I can think of fifteen apps ten of which will how up on these lists 90% of the time. I'm not knocking the apps themselves, but man why run the same lists over and over?
- bmc2010, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No one has mentioned the awesome http://www.coolosxapps.net/ yet.
- mickey333, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Have you tried QuickSilver Stan? It's hard to explain it other than to say it's useful.
- morpheusct, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I just want to point out that none of those apps are useful business apps. If Apple ever wants to get a real share of the business market, they need to support development of real apps, not MP3 alarm clocks and RSS readers. Just my 0.02
- rksprst, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I like how the site that owns it HitGrab Inc. (www.hitgrab.com) is powered by a RapidWeaver Business Template.
- mickey333, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Sabotage, do you own IUseThis? Just curious...
