Mirror, just in case. - valadares, on 10/29/2007, -2/+30I think the version the other guy created looks better than apple's.

/übernerd - RyeBrye, on 10/31/2007, -0/+14Cease and desist from Apple coming in 5... 4... 3...
- tracydanger, on 10/29/2007, -1/+12That's cool. It is kinda funny, though, that we are more fascinated by something that actually looks like worse quality - when you think about it. And also ironic that it takes more technology to make it look worse.
- aquadoctorbob, on 10/29/2007, -0/+11OK, this is lame.
- Shorties, on 10/29/2007, -1/+9Mirror of instructions just in case:
According to Ice-Cube:
1. Extract Hologram.qtz from the zip file.
2. Place it on your desktop for easy access.
3. Go to photobooth in your applications folder and right click to *Show package contents*
4. Navigate to content>resources
5. Drag the Hologram.qtz file from the desktop to this folder.
6. Locate the file *EffectsOrdering.plist* in this folder
7. Open the file with textedit
8. You should see a number of effects listed in that file. You should see user backdrop 1, user backdrop 2, and so forth in the last paragraph.
9. Replace the words *user backdrop 1* to *Hologram*
It should look like this: /Hologram
10. Save the file. Close all folders.
11. Open up photobooth and enjoy your newfound effect. - FDL1, on 10/29/2007, -0/+8Here are the missing screensavers from the earlier builds (Security and Retro, both are simply Quartz compositions, extract to /Library/ScreenSavers)
http://liquidsun.org/robby/Screensavers.zip - Protoss, on 10/29/2007, -0/+7Anyone got the other removed effects from the developer builds? They were removed from the forum.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/29/2007, -0/+7Slightly offtopic but there were two screensavers cut out of the final build which can both be found hidden in the included developer tools.
One's called 'retro' and gives a look of old, grainy, sepia film and the other is called 'security' which takes a snapshot when the iSight detects movement and displays the last sixteen pictures taken in a CCTV style. - CraigJ, on 10/29/2007, -0/+6I think you mean Obi-Wan
- Shorties, on 10/29/2007, -0/+6I think this one is better then the Star Wars one: http://digg.com/apple/Yet_again_another_iChat_filt ...
- inactive, on 10/29/2007, -1/+6I like the homemade one better.
- monkeymad2, on 10/29/2007, -0/+4Putting it in /library/compositions works too, and makes it available for other applications...if you edit their .plist files.
- Avian00, on 10/29/2007, -0/+3Does anybody know why this was removed from the final build in the first place? I can't come up with any good reason, except that maybe Lucas Films had a problem with it? But even that seems ridiculous. I'd really love to know the reason it was removed if somebody out there knows.
- battletops, on 10/29/2007, -0/+3Here are two missing screensavers (Retro & Security):
http://rapidshare.com/files/65453493/Extra_Screen_ ... - meatmcguffin, on 10/29/2007, -0/+3The sepia one isn't too good and that's probably why Apple took it out but security is awesome! I'm guessing they removed it because of the fact it's black & white, voyeuristic and seems a little big brother-ish ; it goes against the fun image of the other screen savers and the rest of the OS.
- mikev, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2They are available in Xcode 3.0. It's in the Quartz Composer folder. They're really cool, especially Retro. :)
- johnbell, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2is this leopard only?
- Shorties, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2Why did they remove those, they sound cool. Why remove anything!?
- meboy, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2Can anyone put up the other Photobooth effects cut out of the Final Release?
- zforrester, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2this makes me think that if anyone is capable of making custom photobooth effect .qtz files, they should be dead easy to install
- Yodan1, on 10/29/2007, -0/+2Does this work in Tiger?
- Stirk, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1No, this is definitely digg...
- smp734, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1Woot! It works better than the effects that came with leopard! Props to whomever did this :)
- KibibyteBrain, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1This was the only way I've been able to get it to work on my machine. (9A581) I'd recommend doing it this way and not the Ice-Cube way as I've heard similar reports.
- pcarm92, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1Thanks!
- imsobored151, on 10/29/2007, -1/+2the hologram effect is leopard only
the screen savers will probably work with tiger - mrosen310, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1wow that works great it only took like 5 minutes to install
- lgc90, on 10/29/2007, -1/+2I think that might have been meant as a good thing...?

- telekid, on 11/10/2007, -0/+1Hum. I never expected this to get dugg... Not complaining, though :)
- JamaicaJames, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1none of these new quartz compositions work with Tiger, including the screensavers. I'm running an intel core 2 duo iMac. just get leopard, its awesome.
- wilhel1812, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1uhm apple did it.. it was made for leopard but didn't make it to the release.
- rambis, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1as far as I know, it does not work in Tiger. iChats lack of cooler features in Tiger prompted me to switch to a different program.
- potterboy, on 10/29/2007, -1/+2http://rapidshare.com/files/66006765/developerextr ...
