- santy, on 10/09/2008, -3/+22Anyone else notice he has a GeForce 9800 in his MacBook Pro?
- freqk, on 10/09/2008, -0/+14Using Coversutra
- freqk, on 10/09/2008, -1/+12I really want to know how he got the adium message window to look like that, I found the HUD theme for it but the message bar in his screenshot looks great.
- divinediva, on 10/09/2008, -4/+14nice, like the fall of troy playing. very pretty.
- digitalpencil, on 10/09/2008, -4/+13dude, i see you in pretty much every mac thread, bashing everything under the sun for no apparent reason..
do you just linger around the upcoming Apple stories waiting for something to bitch about?
you know if you really hate them that much you can just uncheck the apple section in your preferences? or are you so insecure that you just jump on every thread, bitching about how macs suck and your vista machine is WAY better? ;) - veriix, on 10/09/2008, -0/+9So I hear...from the blog comments.
- TommySalami, on 10/09/2008, -0/+7Those Mac icons look awesome
- cadmiumpaint, on 10/09/2008, -2/+9I wonder how his machine is performing with these two OS's running. What does he use this setup for? It would have been cool if there was some actual useful info in the article instead of desktop show off pics.
- wonderbriefs, on 10/09/2008, -0/+6No, virtualization is nothing new for either party. I think this is just being dugg by all of those who didn't know about it yet.
- macaca, on 10/09/2008, -1/+7Impressive.
- digitalpencil, on 10/09/2008, -1/+7yeh wtf?
- CoreyTamas, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5Frogle: Let me explain something to you.
Linux is not a company. It's an operating system. There's no marketing campaign. There are no commercials on TV. When you use Linux, nobody gets paid directly... so there's no motivation for anyone to use the typical "your life is empty without this operating system" marketing on you that is common for Windows and Mac OS.
Also, Linux has a history of do-it-yourself and make-what-you-need. In the current generation, Linux may be replete with point-and-click GUIs that mean you never have to touch a command line... but the history is that it isn't served to you on a platter. In a society where people will pay a 50% premium on lesser-quality cheese purely because it's pre-sliced, it's no surprise that there's a lot of fear about Linux based on it historically requiring you to actually know something.
So, personally, I think people should use OS X or Windows or Linux. I already have a religion, so I don't need to make my operating system into one. That having been said, a person with some ability to do real analysis (which I'm sure you think you are) will look at market share over time and watch what's been happening to Linux in the last 18 months. From a business perspective, Linux seems a lot more ready for the mainstream than you seem to think.
As for me, I use Mac OS X, Windows and Linux... Windows the least of the three. I would give up my Mac before I'd give up my Linux machine. - iamvahe, on 10/09/2008, -1/+6Album cover for the song currently playing.
- litolist, on 10/09/2008, -1/+6Because I spit hot fiyah!
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+5Hmm, didn't realize I could get windows looking that cool – My gamebox will be pleased, Dugg.
- matthewdestroys, on 10/09/2008, -4/+8queens of the stone age... nice.
- CeeAyy, on 10/09/2008, -0/+4He stated that it was an error. Read the comments on LifeHacker and you will see.
- CoreyTamas, on 10/09/2008, -1/+4What does that even mean?
- Shaggy3, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16783 ...
- jesstech, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3Do a search on macthemes for Adium HUD v2. There's one with a plugin that fixes the message bar.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 10/09/2008, -14/+16Um, I don't see the "beautiful transition between Mac and Windows". I see two OS screens with docks, etc., but no artistic, stylistic, or design connection between the two.
- streak, on 10/09/2008, -5/+7Unfortunate for Microsoft.
- Zippo, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3Sexy.
- mattledger, on 10/09/2008, -2/+4Man, I almost wanna install Windows on my MacBook to get that!

-Click View at the top of the screen
-Select 'Show View Options' at the bottom of the menu

-Select 'Show View Options' at the bottom of the menu
-Make sure 'Arrange by' is set to None.
-Close 'View Options'

- Kinsbane, on 10/09/2008, -2/+4What's the icon he's got going in the bottom left of the OS X desktop?
- CleoQKazoo, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3why would he run Photoshop on the virtual machine?
- digitalpencil, on 10/09/2008, -3/+5it's just Windows and OS X running full-screen side-by-side, in spaces. I do the same flicking between the two with the horizontal scroll click. If you use Windows and OS X side by side, it's actually quite handy to be able to shift between the two instantaneously.
- jackharvest1, on 10/09/2008, -1/+3*Mashes two computers together* Ta-da!
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -2/+4Apparently anything that isn't mainstream is trash :P
- CCB0x45, on 10/09/2008, -2/+4I think its more being dugg for the customization he did... and jabberwolf does troll every apple article, he is a complete moron.
- roxgod666, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2http://www.microsoft.com/library/media/1033/window ... ?
- fishie, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2i don't see this as anything special.
- kylesherman, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Use the pearl black Adium icon set. It's an Adium extra.
- dkla, on 10/09/2008, -1/+2What is the performance of Virtualbox in comparison to VMWare Fusion and Parallels?
- Rolcol, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1For all my virtualization, I use Virtualbox
http://www.virtualbox.org
My mom ended up selling Parallels with her old mac because vbox does the same thing she needed it for but for free. - valleyman86, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1That mac theme is awesome. Makes me want to use one now... Maybe ill buy a mac mini now and do some iPhone programming.
- ilikechaitea, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1dude, awesome setup...is there anywhere i could get a exact run down of how to set it all up...?
