- stareD, on 06/18/2008, -81/+24let's buy a nice house and start throwing feecies in it, yeah let's do that....
- ispeakasian, on 06/18/2008, -6/+9... wut?
- jyesmith, on 06/18/2008, -19/+23Let's start spelling "faeces" correctly. Hehe.
- MajorPaine, on 06/18/2008, -7/+22Yeah, it's spelled "feces"!
- Trax91, on 06/18/2008, -2/+17Both ways are appropriate.
- loquax, on 06/18/2008, -2/+38Its still a bunch of crap to me.
- munna80, on 06/18/2008, -5/+3I would say both ways are quite inappropriate...
- compdude32, on 06/18/2008, -4/+5The way I see it is they are trying to take feces and make it do something useful.
of course the apple fan boys still seem to think the iPhone is something special.
- graemee, on 06/18/2008, -3/+17Choose one:
feces
faces
forks
fallacies
foreigners- Bananas21ca, on 06/18/2008, -0/+9That one!
- koanage, on 06/18/2008, -1/+5clearly this poster is on to something more than we can currently comprehend. given a few years and more advanced technology, perhaps a 3rd gen iphone (not to be confused with iphone3g), we'll be able to seize his valuable information and make something positive of it. so until then lets just give him the benefit of the doubt.
- deadsfecesguy, on 06/18/2008, -1/+2sounds fun
- UltraMegaFilms, on 06/18/2008, -3/+1Mac's best and brightest. Must be one of these people:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tq7yykR-DM - alexanEmpire, on 06/19/2008, -1/+1Speaking of feces, you seem to have this problem of spewing them from your mouth, stareD. Perhaps you ought to have that looked at?
- ispeakasian, on 06/18/2008, -48/+8i cant imagine that it'll run too fast... seeing as iphones have 400(?) mhz procs and 128mb ram...
- giverson, on 06/18/2008, -0/+44You're not familiar with the concept of a thin client, are you?
- aceslick911, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1zing!
- camix, on 06/18/2008, -0/+43XP didn't, "Run" on the iPhone. It was a remote system that was running the OS. Buried because the title is inaccurate.
- mentor972, on 06/18/2008, -0/+11When you read the article, you find these things out.
- limbikity, on 06/18/2008, -0/+10lol besides, i've used citrix on my Nokia E70 phone running S60v3 and it worked beautifully over wifi
- pgrit154, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1You are ***** stupid. Read the article before digging and commenting. Besides that, running and running well (assuming someday they do get windows to run on it) are too different things... and the specs you gave ARE good enought to run windows.
- specialK16, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Still XP won't run on ARM.
- giverson, on 06/18/2008, -0/+44You're not familiar with the concept of a thin client, are you?
- cathycathycathy, on 06/18/2008, -38/+1543All the reliability and stability of Windows combined with the afforability of Apple hardware - what more could you ask for?
- aceakm, on 06/18/2008, -58/+15A better phone or a cheaper phone plan with unlimited minutes and text.

- Firehed, on 06/18/2008, -4/+89------joke---->
- Auzy, on 06/18/2008, -39/+7Yeah, you do have to wonder why you would do it when the phone ends up costing 4x more then a computer
- noahhoward, on 06/18/2008, -2/+34You know the iPhone has a nifty little calculator that could help with your problem.
- LimeParrot, on 06/18/2008, -4/+282The peace of mind associated with purchase through eBay, perhaps?
- jabberwolf, on 06/18/2008, -73/+2The "affordability of Apple hardware"?
Um you do realize its "affordable" because its so heavily subsidized to make money off the costumer over a year!- chaon93, on 06/18/2008, -0/+51Um you do realize that he was being sarcastic.
- itsthebrod, on 06/18/2008, -0/+45Am I the only one who can recognize sarcasm?
- Metellus, on 06/18/2008, -0/+63woosh
- Matteos, on 06/18/2008, -12/+2Yes, if they make more money off of the costumers, then the rest of us customers should be getting a deal.
- zzzpoohzzz, on 06/18/2008, -0/+19a swing and a miss...
and...
costumer? --> someone who makes costumes? - mfhayes, on 06/18/2008, -6/+5What's more shocking than sarcasm going completely over your head is the fact that you must have thought Windows was reliable and stable too!
- durant0s, on 06/18/2008, -11/+146possibly one of the best digg comments I personnelly have ever read, thank you cathycathycathy.
- kdhoffman, on 06/18/2008, -1/+35Ditto. If I could digg that comment 100 times I would. Best comment ever. Thanks for the laugh.
- itsthebrod, on 06/18/2008, -15/+5Somehow I don't think you'd be fapping so hard over a comment if the username didn't imply it was a girl. A bit lonely at night, are we?
- thunderforce, on 06/18/2008, -2/+3Not at all... it's daylight out there.... I can see it :)
- gh0st3000, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Hm. I thought it was funny before I even saw the name. itsthebrod, do you need a hug?

- kdhoffman, on 06/18/2008, -1/+35Ditto. If I could digg that comment 100 times I would. Best comment ever. Thanks for the laugh.
- TheZorch, on 06/18/2008, -18/+6I have a question, why the hell would you want to run XP on an iPhone when its current OS is much better?
- durant0s, on 06/18/2008, -0/+4I use the Citrix client on my Macbook to do work related stuff on our network that would not otherwise run on OSX. Doing this on the iPhone shows even more capability. Its one of those things that maybe won't ever get used that much, but in the early stages of invention they can say they did it.
- wedges, on 06/18/2008, -0/+5i work in an office with 25 assorted macs, a combination of books, towers, and imacs, and not one PC. we use citrix for media planning purposes, because the software required doesn't exist on macs.
- compdude32, on 06/18/2008, -5/+2All the more reason why a PC is better, but then if you buy a PC you don't get a chance to suck Steve Jobs' *****
- drgmdp, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1because it is possible
- AsadM, on 06/18/2008, -30/+24needs more linux

- wedges, on 06/18/2008, -4/+30I did what you see there.
- TDragon, on 06/18/2008, -13/+5Compared to other equipment on the market, Apple may make quality products that are reliable, but they are certainly not affordable. In fact, they are one of the most expensive brands around (pricing structure similar to how Sony's been over the years). For example, look at the cost of the iPhones before the price drop. Furthermore, compare the equipment that comes inside the MacBook Pro line with similarly equipped PC's, there is a big difference in cost. Keep in mind that I do love the OS, its stability, etc, but you are simply paying for the brand because Apple is the only manufacturer of computers that can run their OS (without modifications, hacks, etc).
- durant0s, on 06/18/2008, -0/+9I thought everyone knew that already...
- dephunktpistol, on 06/18/2008, -2/+6tl;dr
- bjornski, on 06/18/2008, -2/+3How do you function if you can't even read a paragraph?
Who turns on your computer for you? - alach11, on 06/18/2008, -2/+2And I thought I was the only one that had to read a paragraph to turn on my computer.
- Disease, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3Sometimes you're just too lazy.
- bjornski, on 06/18/2008, -2/+3How do you function if you can't even read a paragraph?

- tkstock, on 06/19/2008, -0/+2I think it was too far over to hear the *whoosh*
- galvo, on 06/18/2008, -33/+5Affordability? Apple? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Thanks for the amazing laugh!- Vindicoth, on 06/18/2008, -1/+27Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
You don't understand sarcasm. - sleepwalkers, on 06/18/2008, -0/+5No, thank *you*.
- Vindicoth, on 06/18/2008, -1/+27Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
- flarn2006, on 06/18/2008, -13/+2all the reliability and stability of Apple hardware with the affordability of a PC.
- mfhayes, on 06/18/2008, -0/+0Oh! Look at that, you switched it!
- ATLien74, on 06/18/2008, -2/+37You can cut the sarcasm with a knife!
- univerio, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1But why cut it if you can eat it with a fork?
- kestrel7e7, on 06/18/2008, -11/+4But Windows IS reliable and the new iPhone hardware ISN'T expensive...
- mathcreative, on 06/18/2008, -0/+5Well, that 2 year contract with AT&T is going to cost you
- dougmc, on 06/18/2008, -4/+13You could ask for the iPhone to actually be running Windows as the article claims, rather than displaying Windows that's being run remotely like it's really doing.
- Greengoo, on 06/18/2008, -5/+14I logged in just to digg this comment.
- Ouze, on 06/18/2008, -2/+2I did as well. Well played. ma'am.

- pgrit154, on 06/18/2008, -2/+4I'd love to see this comment have more diggs than the ***** inaccurate article that it is contained in....
- sergiodlopes, on 06/18/2008, -6/+5Obligatory:
But does it run Vista? - l815, on 06/18/2008, -8/+0lol apple hardware?! You can buy the exact same + better for the same price on Newegg with guaranteed success with drivers.
Apple fans live in a mystical haze.- raisedinhell, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2you appear to be the first person to take the sarcasm seriously
owned
- raisedinhell, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2you appear to be the first person to take the sarcasm seriously
- drshane, on 06/18/2008, -2/+2I actually laughed out loud! very cute!
- withears, on 06/18/2008, -4/+6But can it play Ubutnu?
- Jeremyz0r, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2But can it play Cry.., no.
- Flea08, on 06/18/2008, -2/+2I want copypasta!
- MikeF2005, on 06/18/2008, -2/+11Cathycathycathy's comment belongs in the Comment Hall of Fame. If such a thing existed.
- noface28, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1so funny.
- SuburbianMike, on 06/18/2008, -8/+1Affordability? Since when has anything Apple been affordable?
- Rocketbird, on 06/19/2008, -0/+6Right over your head, huh?
- smrekar, on 06/18/2008, -1/+3double zing! I'm not prejudice, I hate everyone equally.
- Carobu, on 06/18/2008, -3/+2All the ease of use and compatibility of linux?
- Neolite, on 06/19/2008, -1/+2Dugg for the fact it this comment had 1337 diggs.
- neveroddoreven, on 06/19/2008, -1/+1well since u dugg it it is no longer 1337 u should of left it alone..
- wibambau, on 06/19/2008, -2/+3We need a hall of fame comments section, clearly. Would be nice to have a Top 10 dugg comments feature. This one takes the cake with its beautiful sarcasm.
- ijwelch, on 06/19/2008, -1/+0I laughed more at this than the Bill Gates dick flop comment on the cake story.
- LaPistola, on 06/21/2008, -0/+1Wow.. best.. comment.. ever!
- aceakm, on 06/18/2008, -58/+15A better phone or a cheaper phone plan with unlimited minutes and text.
- wonderchemist, on 06/18/2008, -20/+435Actually, it's just a VNC running on the iPhone.
- gpinto, on 06/18/2008, -1/+76Not actually VNC, but a protocol named ICA. a Thin remoting protocol for virtual applications and desktops.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_Computing ...- GliTCH82, on 06/18/2008, -2/+13It's a souped-up version of RDP or as we in enterprise IT call it, "Terminal Services".
- gearhead364, on 06/18/2008, -2/+10close enough to VNC, it is simply running the app on another computer and then displaying on iPhone with inputs from device
- sonnybobiche, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1I've had to use thinclient's ICA before, and let me tell you, it's a pretty trying experience. Although they managed to get their client under a few megabytes, so kudos to them.
- jabberwolf, on 06/18/2008, -6/+24ICA, citrix client.
Citrix has made this client for OSX a long time ago.
Because everyone does real work in Windows.
This just lets people telecommute.
But I dont see how you would get much work done with the iphone keyboard.- dcmjzero, on 06/18/2008, -1/+3and punching tiny buttons with your thumb is more accurate?
- onelikeseabass, on 06/18/2008, -1/+2yes
- mdmogren, on 06/19/2008, -2/+1Touch Screen with XT9 like on the HTC Touch is by far the best input method on a mobile device... that being said, a standard numpad with T9 enabled is much easier and faster than the cumbersome iPhone keyboard
- dcmjzero, on 06/18/2008, -1/+3and punching tiny buttons with your thumb is more accurate?
- 4t0mik, on 06/18/2008, -9/+2To his/her credit (the submitter) they didn't choose the title of the story. ZDNet (AU) presented the headline as "running" Windows XP. Although...the "horror" comment should be enough to get burried by anyone with a brain. Guess what submitter....Apple computer hardware runs Windows too! It also runs Vista too!!!! THE HORROR of CHOICES! AHHH!
- yuanzhoulu, on 06/18/2008, -8/+25right, bury this *****, it's not running on the iphone.
dugg as lame.- sarixe, on 06/18/2008, -1/+5you mean "buried as inaccurate"
- williane, on 06/18/2008, -2/+7I remember seeing a guy do something like this when the iPhone first came out. He was playing WoW on his though.
- dougmc, on 06/18/2008, -4/+1Seems unlikely. Things that require accelerated 3D don't work well over terminal services, if at all.
You might be able to make the original Warcraft or Warcraft II RTS's work, however. They'd be slow, but it might be usable.- williane, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2Oh I didn't say it worked well...=P
But I looked it up:
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/guy-plays-wow-on ... - dougmc, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Ahh, I took `like this' too literally. What your article describes is rather different, though perhaps the end result looked somewhat similar.
- williane, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2Oh I didn't say it worked well...=P
- dougmc, on 06/18/2008, -4/+1Seems unlikely. Things that require accelerated 3D don't work well over terminal services, if at all.
- megamod, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1why are you guys re-explaining what is on the link? for the people that are too lazy to go read the article?
- migitalwarfare, on 06/19/2008, -1/+1if it's not locally run, why should anyone care?
- gpinto, on 06/18/2008, -1/+76Not actually VNC, but a protocol named ICA. a Thin remoting protocol for virtual applications and desktops.
- Trat, on 06/18/2008, -15/+1Who would actually use this for real?
- KnightWhoSaysNi, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3Lots of people would. Not for day-to-day work, but for quickly checking something when you're on the road.
- Phisolo, on 06/18/2008, -0/+5I do nor use windows via a citric server on my iPhone. But I do essentially the same thing using VNC to operate windows clients from my iPhone almost daily. It is a great tool to qiicklynlookinto issues when you are not near a wifi horspot or just away from your laptop.
- dcmjzero, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1i have been waiting for something like this. RDP is something i use daily.
- Trat, on 06/19/2008, -0/+0Why would you use that XP crap? That was my question...
- KnightWhoSaysNi, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3Lots of people would. Not for day-to-day work, but for quickly checking something when you're on the road.
- grumpyrain, on 06/18/2008, -3/+468Um, anyone who thinks that running a Citrix ICA client is equivalent to running XP on the device fails to understand what a Citrix ICA client is.
- ElbertF, on 06/18/2008, -0/+24Indeed, buried as inaccurate.
- raptorGT, on 06/18/2008, -1/+14LOL!!! In that case, I had Windows XP and 2003 Server running on my iPaq...
I love Citrix... :-D
B U R I E D ! - serif69, on 06/18/2008, -1/+38What are you talking about? If I have a picture of Chuck Norris on my wall, then Chuck Norris is in my house.
- ElbertF, on 06/18/2008, -0/+29If Chuck Norris was in your house you'd be dead.
- ludditte, on 06/19/2008, -0/+2or voting for Huckabee
- Smoozle, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Um, I choose door number one then.
- m0laria, on 06/18/2008, -0/+9Or the only person left in the world not dead.
- zspade, on 06/19/2008, -1/+1Not this again.
- ElbertF, on 06/18/2008, -0/+29If Chuck Norris was in your house you'd be dead.
- unionaire, on 06/18/2008, -0/+7indeed, touchpad pro was able to do this long before the release of iPhone SDK, at the time i remoted into a windows server 2003, this is nothing new.
- NOFXY, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3and even longer before that when it was called vnsea.
- Hayl, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2couldn't agree more. it's simply not running XP.
- mossblaser, on 06/18/2008, -2/+1Remember that a lot of mac users think running stuff under XP on a VM counts for running stuff on Mac OS so this title is accurate.
- grumpyrain, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Running XP under a VM does count as running XP. Citrix ICA Client is not a VM.
- com2, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1No it's just a remote desktop. The OS (XP) does not run on the iphone, just the graphics and i/o.
- grumpyrain, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Running XP under a VM does count as running XP. Citrix ICA Client is not a VM.
- tama00, on 06/19/2008, -0/+0Damn misleading headlines!
I dont so much blame digg this time as the actual article says that as well!
- Pliep, on 06/18/2008, -3/+231It's just the Safari browser connecting to their Citrix server. Nothing to see here.
- aceakm, on 06/18/2008, -41/+4Why would you want to run any OS on your phone? Why even have internet on your phone? The only thing I like that most high end phones have is GPS. That's about it.
- josereyes0, on 06/18/2008, -3/+5Yeah why would anyone want advancements or improvements? Personally I'm quite happy with rotary phones, Windows 95 and the Model T.
- compdude32, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2Dude, you need to go back to Windows 3.1, much better.
- danjwray, on 06/18/2008, -0/+21Do you know what an OS is? Your phone isn't going to do anything without one.
- Shoebox639, on 06/18/2008, -1/+4Hey try this: restart your windows in DOS mode and type in format c:, then yes. After you do that, restart the computer and see what happens. It's your dream come true, a machine without an OS.
- specialK16, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Are you running 9x?
- ltemerpoc, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1why even have internet on your phone?
mobile pronz? - dcmjzero, on 06/18/2008, -1/+4"Why would you want to run any OS on your phone?"
your phone already has an os.
"Why even have internet on your phone?"
why even have the internet? i can't think of any uses...
"The only thing I like that most high end phones have is GPS. That's about it."
thank you for that information. now that i know that i can go on with my life.- aceakm, on 06/19/2008, -1/+1What are the comments for digg for? I believe stating your opinion... Hmm, interesting theory eh?
- danjwray, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Right, your opinion that mobile phones shouldn't have operating systems. Retard.
- aceakm, on 06/19/2008, -1/+1What are the comments for digg for? I believe stating your opinion... Hmm, interesting theory eh?
- josereyes0, on 06/18/2008, -3/+5Yeah why would anyone want advancements or improvements? Personally I'm quite happy with rotary phones, Windows 95 and the Model T.
- charman2k6, on 06/18/2008, -20/+59Shut up.
- Fangsinmybeard, on 06/18/2008, -12/+2Oh well, what is next? A shabby chic wet ware implant that can run windows 2.0?
- MrViklund, on 06/18/2008, -14/+121What do you mean "The Horror"?
Who cares...- Dorepoll, on 06/18/2008, -2/+19It's front page baiting. It's so that people who spell Microsoft with a dollar sign will dig it.
- Rocketbird, on 06/19/2008, -3/+2down w/ micro$$$$oft
- NavS, on 06/18/2008, -1/+9Seriously, this is pretty cool. imagine not having to cut your lunch short to do something remotely.
- Dorepoll, on 06/18/2008, -2/+19It's front page baiting. It's so that people who spell Microsoft with a dollar sign will dig it.

- pero69, on 06/18/2008, -4/+22Buried for stupid (inaccurate) title
- Ymeg, on 06/18/2008, -12/+2christ, you're stupid...
wait, what? Both of your comments are subjective...- bjornski, on 06/18/2008, -1/+5You didn't read the article, did you?
The title IS both inaccurate and stupid.
/subjective my ass. - pero69, on 06/18/2008, -1/+3OR it's not actually running windows...
just because i'm vnc'd to a server 2003 box doesn't mean i'm running server 2003 on my laptop.

- jabberwolf, on 06/18/2008, -24/+17WOW !
MS and Linux products being able to run on ANY hardware?
This must be new and shocking for macfans. They must think it's THEIR innovation!
Wait a sec? This is a Citrix client.
Derrr this is nothing new, its a connection to a Windows server. Windows, you know that thing everyone actually does real world work on?!- jabberwolf, on 06/18/2008, -0/+6But you really think anyone could really do much work off of the iPhone keyboard?!
- MaddieCakes, on 06/18/2008, -4/+3I'm a graphic designer, I do real world work. On a Mac. I also balance my checkbook on my Mac.
- compdude32, on 06/18/2008, -0/+3WOW, you can do two things on a MAC, I do about a million different things with my PC's.
- McHoffa, on 06/18/2008, -1/+1playing a million games doesn't count as doing a million things.
joking, but you really can live without windows. I do everything I did before for years on my mac. I could also do a lot of it in linux (minus the graphic design stuff). Just choose your path and don't worry about what other people can or can't do. Macs aren't the useless machines that some people think. - jabberwolf, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1A graphic designer is good.
Again most of the world does work that isn't just making pretty pictures.
That goes for auto-cad, physics engines like solidworks, etc...
That's not even including an entire networked company.

- fahrvergnuugen, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1The retarded headlines are caused by Digg's suckyness. Sensational headlines are required if you want to get noticed -> dugg -> promoted to the front page.

- WarZpriTe, on 06/18/2008, -8/+11Misleading title, but dugg because its still kinda cool to have a thin client running on an iPhone, it opens up a whole new range of remotely accessible applications.

- pantone286, on 06/18/2008, -13/+8Beside the fact that the title is misleading - running osx on hardware as puny as the iphone is like watching akebono trying to drive around in a prius.
XP is much lighter than osx. My guess is it would run more quickly and with fewer crashes.- aautopsy, on 06/18/2008, -2/+0Its not just straight up OSX, they modified it specifically for the iPhone. Just like Win Mobile is Windows for mobile phones.
- picsectionpleez, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1I wouldn't be guessing so much.
- SuperSunny, on 06/19/2008, -0/+1Actually it runs incredibly well, and incredibly fast for a mobile device. It's the mobile version of OS X. It uses (if I'm not mistaken) much of the same structure as what makes OS X...OS X, like CoreImage and whatnot, but it's completely designed for the mobile interface. Exactly the way Windows Mobile is.
- tripledjr, on 06/18/2008, -0/+13XP Was running on the Citrix server this is just connecting to the server, old as your grandma technology right there.
- theaverageidiot, on 06/18/2008, -4/+16iPhone doesn't "run" Windows XP. It displays an image of it. I've done this on other devices for years.
But hey, at least it's not Vista, right? - AlienMushroom, on 06/18/2008, -0/+8It DOESN'T run Windows XP, but ICA rather.
Soon we will have an app on the home screen called, Windows XP. - salomejones, on 06/18/2008, -3/+37No, it wasn't running xp. Buried for inaccuracy. The "Citrix Framework" is essentially an overly complicated, broken, allegedly "secure" way of remotely administering windows machines. Think of it as VNC on steroids. For 20 years. Until it's nuts fell off and it grew boobs.
- fandyboy, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Find me another terminals services client that runs over port 80.

- EtherGnat, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2You can change the port RDP runs on to whatever you want.
- mehan, on 06/18/2008, -2/+2Citrix is not a "way of remotely administering windows machines".
Look it up.- salomejones, on 06/18/2008, -1/+2From my point of view, in the way that I've had the horror of using it professionally, that's exactly what it was. I could have gone into a bit more detail and said that "Citrix supplies an incredibly broken, retarded, insecure, unstable and insane method of remotely logging into a windows machine and barely being able to run things in the most insecure way possible while other people can simultaneously do the same", but I didn't think it deserved that many words. For the average person, the VNC comparison was fine.
- TaintBrush, on 06/19/2008, -0/+2I would like to fondle said boobs.

- zeiben, on 06/18/2008, -0/+13Stupidest title ever. As others point out, it's not running XP, and as I'd point out, "***** Yeah!". This is exactly what I want my iphone to be able to do.

- sandiegodude, on 06/18/2008, -1/+10Read the above 20 comments about it being a thin client. Even the OP mikelgan doesn't appear to understand remote sessions ("OH THE HORROR!!")
Personally, I'd LOVE to be able to remote into my work servers from my cell phone. Anybody who has been on call and out shopping or at a movie or something and got the emergency automated page that server XYZ failed such and such process would completely understand why I say that.- Tyr7BE, on 06/18/2008, -0/+2What about ssh? I used to use an ssh client on my blackberry for just such things. Admittedly it's not ideal, you're on a cell phone, but it's better than finding a computer.

- D14BL0, on 06/18/2008, -0/+11This is the same BS as the other frontpaged article about running WoW and Second Life on the iPhone. It's not actually running any of this software, just showing you a streaming video and giving you control of the server.
Buried as inaccurate.- WarZpriTe, on 06/18/2008, -1/+0Its not "giving you control of the server" the server creates a separate session for the client to connect to that allows zero control of the server itself, just over whatever apps the client is locked in to.
Also a single server can allow multiple users to access multiple sessions, without bumping into one another, unlike VNC or other remote control software.- specialK16, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Erm not really. You do have control over the computer. And, it is not "streaming video".
- WarZpriTe, on 06/20/2008, -0/+0I'll concede "limited control" You wont have the ability to launch any apps you arent authorised for, nor can you admin the server itself without rights. the blanket assumption that it gives you control is at best misleading, dozens of people can launch separate desktop sessions within the ICA environment and have no control over the server itself.
Also it was the GP that posted about streaming video, not me
