- alexdagrate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He's right to some degree: it's not worth dissembling your MBP and then reapplying the proper amount of paster.
However, it also proves the point that Apple's manufacturing quality is way off from where it should be. - ahknight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You realize the title of the article is a joke, right? I mean, if you even read the first paragraph you'd know that.
Even then, same site, different author. - ahknight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2With lots of datapoints and a pretty chart.
- fleetskeet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Basically, it says that Apple did use too much thermal paste, but re-applying Arctic Silver is not worth the trouble for a small drop in temperature.

- ahknight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's not quality. It's quantity. Literally. If it were a quality issue, then different machines would have different amounts. In this case, the build specifications quote an amount that is a little excessive, but in no way hinders the performance of the machine. Using a better compound resulted in better heat transfer, but that's wholly different than saying there's a quality problem.
A quality problem would be if there were randomly NO paste. This is a quantity/specification question. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0This coming from a guy who has an article about how to hide porn? If you're hiding porn, you're either 13 or a child pornographer.
Creepy.
