- Ireland, on 01/18/2008, -6/+60"Here's my question: why is there a limit at all?"
That's an easy one, the iPhone doesn't have unlimited storage. - MixMastaKooz, on 01/18/2008, -0/+36No, text it! It can store all of them!!
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+36And millions of teenage girls rejoice.
- jlgolson, on 01/18/2008, -2/+34Yes, but 75,000 text messages comes nowhere near that limit. It's likely because of database issues with having that many messages.
- tman84, on 01/18/2008, -0/+31So the chances of your significant other finding questionable text messages just increased 7500%
- fuzzmeister, on 01/18/2008, -6/+35I own an iPhone and love it, but even I find the fact that this story has 50+ diggs kind of ridiculous.
- coldpockets, on 01/18/2008, -4/+29iPhone owners?
- bvaughn, on 01/18/2008, -0/+22ha, It would be pretty awesome if they upped that limit from 0...
- BlkGuyAtThePrty, on 01/18/2008, -0/+21Called to let the guy know his number just got front paged on Digg...
- diskopo, on 01/18/2008, -2/+20There are a few more unannounced features documented here as well: http://gizmodo.com/346179/iphone-113s-lesser+known ...
- supporter12, on 01/18/2008, -17/+34who cares?
- Kythas, on 01/18/2008, -2/+19I looked at the title real fast and thought it said "Texans rejoice!" I wondered why Texans would specifically be happy about this.
- beelz, on 01/18/2008, -0/+13(425) 205-1921
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -2/+14Why would you admit that you have saved over 2300 text messages?
- DreKor, on 01/18/2008, -0/+10I'll agree with you when I don't have to pay for Maps and Mail on my iPod Touch. Apple's not fail-proof, they do a lot of things right, but they also screw a lot of things up.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -1/+11I honestly can't tell if you are a sad fanboy, or if you are mocking sad fanboys.
- sexybobo, on 01/18/2008, -1/+11because you need to keep a log of ever time some one says lol?
I must just use sms different they you I always use it as a quick way to ask some one a quick question. If it is anything i need to save I always have them email it to me so i have it in more that one location and backed up on a servers so if i loose my phone i don't loose all my important data. - BalsamLane, on 01/18/2008, -2/+12I thought it said Texas rejoice. nmd.
- Enuratique, on 01/18/2008, -0/+9It's Robert Scoble's cell phone and you can see from this post here he has no qualms about the world knowing it:
http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=6171 ... - affanjam, on 01/18/2008, -1/+10All 4 million of them
- MixMastaKooz, on 01/18/2008, -0/+7As long there as there is loud music at bars and clubs, texting or some form of it will always be around.
- Langford, on 01/18/2008, -0/+7Anyone who has that many messages, has no intention of reading them. Oh well, it's still good to lift arbitrary limitations.
- dpvu, on 01/18/2008, -0/+61000 wasn't enough?! I can understand receiving 1000, but needing to keep all of them?
- UMDWei, on 01/18/2008, -3/+9Can it store 75,000 MMS? =
- blakeley, on 01/18/2008, -2/+7I treat texting like it's iChat so I am constantly having to clear my SMS box, happy they have increased the limit.
- agent888, on 01/18/2008, -0/+5I would love to be able to email SMS threads i have in my phone to either myself or other people.
- Chirp08, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6heres a question, wtf are you doing with over 1000 txt messages stored on your phone?
- PhilMoskowitz, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6You still have to use AT&T though right? These are the people who are going to universally snoop through all of your internet and email?
Pass. - LaSepultura, on 01/18/2008, -0/+4Same. You can set it up so when your AIM name goes offline from your PC or Mac, the messages get sent as text messages. An unfortunate workaround for a basic feature.
- nunofgs, on 01/19/2008, -1/+5Honestly, don't you people have better things to do?
What the hell did you say to him: "uuhhh" *click* "***** he picked up!" *laughs like schoolgirl*? - MissApples22, on 01/18/2008, -2/+6Wow, that's quite a jump. I don't think I'll ever reach that limit, lol.
- xb0xterr0rist, on 01/18/2008, -1/+4Damn, my phone only holds 50.
- betterth, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3Lonely digger is lonely.
Get more friends and shut up kthx. - flarn2006, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3Hope you have the unlimited texting plan!
- merreborn, on 01/18/2008, -0/+375,000 * 160 = about 12 megabytes.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3Oh and by the way, THIS would be a perfect example of an Apple fanboy. Extending the text message limit is not some sort sort of extraordinary customer service thing. It is something they should have done all along. Fanboys praise their favorite companies for finally doing what they should have been doing all along. It is like when Apple fanboys praise them for honoring their warranties when their crappy iPods break after 4 months. As if other companies don't honor their warranties.
- romistrub, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3lol @ "never fails"
- GT4NE1, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3867-5309
- IdanE, on 01/18/2008, -4/+7Yeah ! who needs more than a 1000 messages? and who needs more than 64k of memory?
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3That's about 166 a day. Do you talk like a normal human being?
- hanapbuhay, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Buy a better phone.
- hmunkey, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Apple has been ***** a lot of stuff up lately.
- SaladCactusKing, on 01/18/2008, -1/+3when Ron Paul is elected, Steve Jobs will serve as vice president and will legalize weed, bring back the troops, shut down Fox News, and make IPhones the official currency of America.
- theblt, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2No it's not. It's Robert Scoble. You can see it right in the picture.
- angelces, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2uh. unlimited texts is 19.99 a month. at least for me.
- digggggggggg, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Well, the 30 message limit on my Razr is just annoying and asinine.
- xsecretfiles, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2AMEN!!
- Buelldozer, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2That was my reaction. If you think you NEED to store the last 75,000 text messages that you received (or sent) then you NEED to get a life! Trust me, there's nothing you're doing with the iphone with that kind of importance. I don't care who you are or what you do.
- rossnyc, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Ghey?
