I've programming for since I was about 11 or 12 (17 now) so I pretty much knew what I was doing, with the exception of learning the syntax of Objective-C for the GUI and the iPhone-specific libraries. I've never looked into contracted services for development, but I imagine it is pricey as you give up the rights to the Apps you make, while you could fairly easily sell them on the AppStore without paid assistance.

A) Utterly useless
B) Duplicates of them lame speed dialer tutorial app (yes, iPhone dev program teaches you how to do that for free) with people trying to rip you off for a crappy image
or
C) Utterly useless

How does that translate into actual sales? And what sort of time did you spend on this? Sorry to probe...
