- greenrider, on 10/12/2007, -3/+91Funny to see that even his jokes (ordering 4,000 lattes) are scripted.
As effortless as he seems, he still needs a ton of preparation, just like everybody else... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+78I laughed when I saw the fine publishing job done on his notes.... In my head I was expecting wrinkled paper with scribble all over it ( I guess I forgot who we were talking about )
- biff198, on 10/12/2007, -3/+60And the Lord said unto Moses, "Thou shalt bring unto them 4000 lattes to go..."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+44Yea, he makes it look easier than it is.
- zenatek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+45The way the notes are written and bound is very Steve Jobs.
- fugimax, on 10/12/2007, -3/+44Making it look spontaneous is arguably harder than being spontaneous. And certainly has much more predictable results.

- spvaland, on 10/12/2007, -5/+42I didn't know Bill Gates was on Digg.
- blogger123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32Steve Jobs is the best Keynote speaker ever. He makes it look so effortless that you just fall in awe.
- ersnyder, on 10/12/2007, -12/+41"the graphic is too small and blurry . i don't see any mention about the starbucks prank"
How about you try clicking on the image to make it bigger. You know, with that thing next to your keyboard called a "mouse." - Tupster, on 10/12/2007, -4/+31In Soviet Russia, notes blend you!
- PimpinOnWelfare, on 10/12/2007, -7/+33Oh god, now I HAVE to do it.
I for one, welcome our latte drinking overlord. - Dithre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Notice how even the sections are color coded correctly with dividers. Yellow for iPod, Green for Phone, Blue for Internet...
- Reziarfg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26On the same note, do you think his joke on Woz was scripted when they were having technical difficulties with the clicker? I'd say no, but you never know.
- chazzbro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21I don't even own a Mac anymore...and the two hours I spend every year watching Jobs act as The Wizard every year is still a complete delight for me. The guy and his company...sheer marketing genius.
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22It's...the...bible!
- biff198, on 10/12/2007, -17/+35Well, if you HAVE to do that, I guess I HAVE to do this...
<reluctantly>
*sigh...* will it blend.....
ugh... - ElBob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19If anyone is interested I made a template for Pages that is similar to this booklet. I plan to use it for all my presentations from now on, its such a good idea! The zip file contains both the template and the required font, just select all the files in the Myriad Apple folder and hit Command-O to install them on your system.

That is the only "Will it blend" comment i've ever dugg up :p - biff198, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14There, see my above post? It's done! No one else has to post a "Will it blend" comment.
- clickmyface, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Steve has always used notes for his demo portions. And if the note prints are not a feature in Keynote (the OS X application) right now, there is a chance that it will be in the next release. If you remember, Steve used the keynote app for a long time before it went on sale.
He got a new remote, too. This one is a bit smaller than the old one. I have always tried to figure out what remote he used because it seemed like the perfect size. The one he has now is going toward too small for me. The one Bill Gates used at CES was defintely on the "way too small" size. - OnlyShawn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9because of the 'digital out' stuff to transmit to the screen?
- ersnyder, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10That pretty much shows that some of the media coverage claiming they were one of the few media outlets who got an hour test drive with one of the only TWO iPHONES in existence was a false statement. There are three right there on the podium. One primary, two back-ups. Stupid sensationalist media.
- idean360, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7here's another shot of his notes,
http://www.spymac.com/details/?1793778 - fahrvergnuugen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@OnlyShawn "and "billion" instead of "million" (which was on the screen) for, i believe, cingular's subscriber base."
Listen to it again. He showed 250 Million and said "a quarter of a billion" - clickmyface, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Actually it's the consumers who have said its not a viable product. How so? By not buying them.
The Apple Design books are full of Apple R&D tablets.
Anyway, you'll see one from Apple eventually. You can bet the R&D from the 80s has evolved into recent years. - Jamie314, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Anyone else think the iPhones in that picture looked pretty beat up around the edges?
- mrpippy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6i doubt it--at one point in the keynote video stream, the over-the-shoulder cam shows the corner of that book, and it has the CAMERA note on it--i'm curious what that means, since he didn't do jack with the iphone's camera.
- OnlyShawn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6spontaneous speaker:
exhibit a- Michael Richards.
move along. - wastern, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7ugg...what is spymac doing now. yet another redesign, what is this 3 site, with 3 different designs and goals in a year. Its almost said to watch. They had a great thing going with the Mac community, then they had to try to expand it and jump on every bandwagon that came along. I'm get sick just open up the page now, its such a cluster *****
- ramsinks.com, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I see 3 iphones... i think..
Incase one dies. - vagarach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Most likely the camera placed so audience could see him using the iphone (as in "position self and hand so camera is effective in capture"), and I did notice him flipping the pages of his notes, it is quite clearly shown in the video on apple.com
- inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4> On the same note, do you think his joke on Woz was scripted

Probably. When Pink Floyd performed The Wall live in 1980, it was such a technically demanding show (for that era) that they put in place all kinds of plans in case something went wrong. The most difficult part was reaching the end of the first half of the album when the buildling of the on-stage wall was supposed to be finished. They put in place a chunk of improv music they played right before the last song just in case the wall building was behind at that point. (If you listen to the live album of The Wall they released a few years ago, you can hear it.)
Likewise, I bet the Woz story was probably on a list of fall back plans to keep things going in the event of technical difficulties. So, it was planned, albeit maybe not scripted per se. - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Red for? ...
- gavintlgold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey, I just got Myriad for free... Always wanted that font! Thanks.
I don't have Keynote (yet) but that font is awesome. Tried to find it online, turns out it costs money... - joshuakuhn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is digg spam the new "in thing"?
- BWhaler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Lordee.
Even Steve's notes are utterly beautiful. - DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is the only time I can say that spymac.com lives up to its name.
- jflint, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah, they have that special card in them so that they can output to the projector. I think he mentioned that before he started using them.
- jarinudom, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3Hey that is pretty handy, thanks :)
I put it in ~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates/Keynote Booklet/ for great justice - ggko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So how long before one of these leak out and turn up on eBay? I don't necessarily mean before the keynote is delivered, rather as Apple related memorabilia. Apple collectors probably just added those notebooks to their list of things to find. Surely they must print more than one copy in case it's misplaced. Would Apple destroy them after?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In full res:
http://www.spymac.com/upload/2007/01/11/UlQMXyOnej.jpg - FluffyArmada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You ignorant clod! I can't make cliché slashdot comments!
- ElBob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1gavintlgold: Thats odd, I found it for free.
- gavintlgold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know, I think I had it already anyway... but I remember looking and finding this page:
http://www.linotype.com/1257/myriad-family.html
Oh, and thanks for NOT posting some post like "OMG you are STUPID, it's FREE. IDIOT". It's nice to have some manners on Digg. - CaseyTokyo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah, I think he usually oly has one backup, so i guess he really wanted to make sure the iPhone won't crash during his keynote
- gmarks, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4It is amazing how from those notes he can get a 2 hour keynote to be almost perfect. The only real big mistake in the keynote is he said 2006 instead of 2007 once. Steve is amazing.
- joshuakuhn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, since he hadn't announced the iPhone yet then the two in the glass cases weren't on display yet... That accounts for the 3 he said were in existence...
- Number17, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.duggmirror.com
- idean360, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they probably keep them in storage under lock, or in the campus on display...
