- LogicBomB, on 10/12/2007, -10/+67"Lets Roll" as #1?
No offense but that's *****. It's not a memorable quote, it's a passenger who was quoting bad movies before doing something brave.
The fact that the berlin wall coming down is #2 behind that nonsense is retarded. This is CLEARLY a jab at the heartstrings of Americans to make them like the paper more. "Let's throw something patriotic and recent at the top of an all-time best list, that'll work".
It's like saying that a recent movie is the best movie to ever be released - clearly bias and emotional. - trollick, on 10/12/2007, -3/+49"I have had it with these ***** snakes on this ***** plane!"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+47Mark as faults for not having "I'm Rick James bitch." on there.
- BaylorDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+41What about "I'll be back" by the Arnold?
Or "Say hello to my little friend!!" I think these are more recognizable than some of those on that list. - Yeago, on 10/12/2007, -10/+40This list is a bunch of trite, platitudinal *****.
- jaderobbins, on 10/12/2007, -6/+36Digg is so ridiculous. An article claiming to have the top 25 quotes and the one they pick to put in the title is Steve ***** Jobs.
- sgentry6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I'll be the first to say it: I am sick and tired of lists that start off with number one. Guess what, I'm not going to care what #19 is when you show me the most memorable quote right off.
- damonlab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20The Internet is not a dump truck. It's a series of tubes.
- CaptainCaffeine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19But he just ripped off Columbo.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbo - bilbravo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19@arbiterxero:
You're thinking of Apollo 13. This happened when you were likely still wetting your diapers. - LogicBomB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18@bill - and seeing as how that quote has lived into this generation, it is more memorable than the one he was tearing apart.
- ConceptJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Best political quote of the last 25 years:
Admiral Stockdale at the 1992 VP debate:
"Who am I and what am I doing here?" - axpdocbrown, on 10/12/2007, -8/+24seriously dude, why does everyone on digg kiss apples ass so much? Don't get me wrong I'm not claiming any fault in apples product line, i just don't understand why every other article people digg is about apple...or in this case...think it's about apple when it's a small mention of steve jobs. Get over yourselves. If you want to read a good article, go to Maddox's website and read "why i hate mac users."
- Dido, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16"If you can't make it good, make it look good." by Mr. Bill Gates
- meshman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14There is no prouder achievement apparently than being ranked #17.
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11USA Today isn't, though.
- crimson117, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13That's hot.
- JLMac, on 10/12/2007, -22/+31Maybe it's because I am not a fanboy but #17 is about the only one I didn't recognize.
- punch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Ugh, whats with popup's USAToday. For shame!
- Albion01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"You can't handle the truth!" is #9? Where's "I'll be back!" or "Asta la vista baby!"? And "Let's roll?" as #1? I don't remember ever hearing that one. Another sign of American media telling you what they want you to hear.
- bemenaker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I can't believe they have "let's roll" as their number 1. I have always thought, that comment was stupid. There are so many better ways to have said that. And their #2, is far more important, than "let's roll". I am under no circumstances a fan of Bush, but this has nothing to do with it. The other quote from him, listed at 15 "Those who knocked down these building, will hear you..." meant far more to me than his stupid "Let's roll" comment.
When Reagan uttered those words, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!", it gave me goosebumps. I remember watching that speech clearly. I will always remember that moment. - Yeago, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9From THE DEVIL'S DICTIONARY ((C)1911 Released April 15 1993) :
PLATITUDE, n. The fundamental element and special glory of popular
literature. A thought that snores in words that smoke. The wisdom of
a million fools in the diction of a dullard. A fossil sentiment in
artificial rock. A moral without the fable. All that is mortal of a
departed truth. A demi-tasse of milk-and-mortality. The Pope's-nose
of a featherless peacock. A jelly-fish withering on the shore of the
sea of thought. The cackle surviving the egg. A desiccated epigram.
- strangewill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I agree with 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 11, 19, 22, and 25, other than that the rest are crap.
Not to mention: Whats with the title of this digg? Why not "Lame list of 25 most memorable quotes, most of them not really memorable at all".
I'd take Bill Gates "oops, thats not suppose to happen" during the BSOD that happened while showcasing 98 over Steve Jobs. THAT was memorable, hilarious too. As for Steve Jobs, just about nothing he says sticks... not nearly as much as his cult member's rantings do. - BlackAdderIII, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Honestly, who voted in this?
Any one person who really thought those the most memorable quotes of the last 25 years, you'd have to feel sorry for their poverty of life experience. - BrokenVisage, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11What a piss poor list. Having two BS 9/11 quotes doesn't get you bonus points in my book either, ridiculous.
- RunningRabbit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wow what a ***** list. And to have Steve Jobs in the title, oooook then..... especially since his quote is so lame. WTF seriously the Mac fanbois need to take a chill pill.
- retrospect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This list is complete *****. Why did the poster single out one quote, that's near the bottom of the list?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Well they made up for it with a lame #1 and a crappy list.
- locnguyen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Developers, developers, developers!
- bmson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Are you kidding me. We have quotes like...
- "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky."
- "I'm a unit er not a divider"
and the list goes on.
and the nr. 1 is "Let's roll.".
Common! - bemenaker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Dude, I run Vista in upper memory blocks.
- mlvassallo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Please quit digging up arbiterxero,
He obviously doesn't remember the Challenger and is getting his "pop culture" mixed up. - finista, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Never underestimate the predictability of stupidness
aka
Let's post some ***** on digg and see what happens. - bmson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@fugazi
You should read my Icelandic... - ronmexico, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You're right stepbar, but when a newspaper from your country puts together a list of qoutes from your homeland, I won't be offended.
- macamatition, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What! Why is "you can't handle the truth" on there but no "Luke, I AM YOUR FATHER!!!" what a jip!
- anonym41414, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The newspaper that published the list is called "USA Today," you dumbass.
- joe912, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3umm what about
"oh the humanity" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My personal favorite...
"Oh *****, look what I've done."
-Steve Wynn (immediately after he ripped a $139 million dollar Picasso painting he just sold)

- fugrank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I thought it was uncle that said one mooooore thing.
- MikeOSX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. quotes?
- EXIDY, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Mission Accomplished!
...I will NEVER forget this one! - strangewill, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I enjoy some software on Macs, I don't really enjoy the OS much (I'd rather use Linux if I had the option), but as for some awesome multimedia applications you can't really beat it. It's the USERBASE that drives me ***** nuts.
BTW: 4 cores making your internet browsing any quicker? ;) heh, I know 4 cores is awesome for video processing and multitasking. :P - JustinPM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Because that quote was from a movie that was more than 25 years ago?
- fanshanable, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"what"s no country i ever heard of, they speak english in what? say what again mother *****!" This list sucks but it's ok cause no one reads USA today cause it's such a ***** paper and you'd expect this kinda crap from them. And "Lets roll" does not deserve to be number one, c'mon.
- HHP2K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Crap, isn't duggmirror working on this one?
- plagiats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"I guess this is why we're not shipping yet?" - Bill gates, attempting to joke after Windows 98 crash during worldwide public demonstration.
