- r©ain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35"No Daddy! Not the chair!!!!!"
Man, It must suck to be Ballmers kid. - NiLeS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35lol. Balmer is crazy. ("Developers, developers, developers, developers...")
And really, how can you not use google? It's built in to half the internet! - Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Kids...? That means that a woman slept with him?????
- CyberSmackdown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28...So Dad grounded me after finding my bong and 2 gmail accounts...
- madholepunch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20which is brutal since the other carts serve kosher dogs and he's slinging rat meat
- dcmjzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18No google? Child abuse!
- ddrirc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Yeah. (except for the whole being rich part)
- craterburnsu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20@ sahaskatta
10 bucks says when he leaves the house his kids boot up a Linux Live CD. :-D - johndi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10No Google, or I'll ***** bury you. That's be a great speech to hear from dad.
- bsoric, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Love that picture.
- joelhardi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9You got it. And how does he expect to come up with a competitive search engine/ad service/megalith or MP3 player when he bans even his own kids from using the market-leading products he's hoping to catch Microsoft up to?
You'd think he'd buy his kids every friggin' iPod, just to get some insight into which model they liked, and why.
I wonder if he listens to MP3s or podcasts at all ... or restricts himself to WMAs and wmammycasts. - rudolphdude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10ddrirc...riiiiiiiiighhhht? I mean, *****, my dad was crazier than that and we was poor as hell.
I will be Balmers kid any f'ing day. I won't buy an Ipod, I will just have Modest Mouse play my backyard party while my friends play a game of pickup with the Dallas Mavericks. - sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9im so so so Sorry for his children, they have to sick to all the microsoft crap everyday.
- 7of7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Microsoft makes players that compete with the iPod?
Not Eric Wilson - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Haha. Even worse they're probably forced to use MSN!! Or Windows Live!!
- madholepunch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9lucifer is unsure of who the antichrist is? i'd have thought you had a hand in that business...
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Yeah, it must be great growing up with an emotionally distant, cold father who can't think outside the corporate box inside his own home.
- IanAction, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"You don't use Google, and you don't use an iPod."
Yeah, I doubt they don't use them because he tells them. They don't use them because their frigging computers keep crashing! - jecobo, on 06/11/2009, -0/+7"But all the cool kids are using Google!"
- NoMoreNicksLeft, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Haha. They also don't drive Fords, just in case Microsoft decides to go into the automobile business sometime later this year.
What a dumbass. Ipods aren't even an indirect competitor. Way to abuse your monopoly powers, Ballmer! - Oakes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6sahaskatta - Oh, I'm sure they're suffering playing WoW on $6,000 alienware PCs with two 30" screens.
I made that up but honestly, Windows seems a lot less crappy when you can afford anything under the moon. - Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Google and Apple have monopolies?? I think MSN, Ask Jeeves, iRiver and Creative beg to differ...
- mofomojo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Being rich isn't all it's cracked up to be, you're still a person, and from my experience of wealth, money will not buy you friends or happiness.
Rich people are not things, or objects, but people. Being wealth obsessed get's you made fun of, even if you're a really nice guy; or whatever. Look at gates, nobody really knows him, he's gone to the classrooms of 2nd graders, yet people still badmouth him.
Being rich is a curse, don't ever over-estimate it, for it is the most over-estimated thing on earth, trust me.
Bill Gates always seemed like the sensible one, anyways, if I was to be anybody's kid, it would be his. - SeanMoney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Digg for that pic of the maniac.
- PantherX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5as poorly behaved as other children?
Good job being a parent there Steve. "Yeah, as long as they're not the worst kids, I did a good job."
No wonder Vista is ***** atm. - grzelakc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Gawd, that guy really is a sad geezer and a control freak. Pity upon those who work for him or are being brought up by him.
- DaveyDeadite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAxcOrZhdFo&search=steve%20balmer
Quite possibly the most convincing ad I've ever laid eyes upon. - Brian48216, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Regardless of whether or not this is true, Steve Ballmer is the 2nd incarnation of the Devil.
I really don't know why everybody rags on Bill Gates so much. That guy is more or less a developer.
Ballmer is the evil soul behind MS. - Chaos12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Class A douche!
- mooninite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I don't mind humor, but when I come to digg the first thing I expect is factual information. Microsoft news coming from a Macintosh fanboy site with a biased photo is front page news?
Digg Demographics
30% apple
30% linux
40% windows
So anything is easily pushed to the front page. Sad, imo. Articles like these hurt digg more then they help. Reported as lame.
If you want to post funny articles, lets ask for a "Humor" section. - jayf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Let's start a fund to buy his kids iPods.
- DaMacGamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4to further more prove Ballmer's insanity, he calls Linux Communism.
- dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7How bad could it be? I'd trade my option of using Google to be heir to a billionaire's fortune. And I already don't have an iPod.
- selphishnerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4haha I love the last comment about him being CEO material. The way this article ends cracks me up.
geezz I wonder what would happen if one of his kids tried linux....maybe all hell would break lose...or he'd dissown them. - eean, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They hide the linux live cds in their porn.
- DrakeGTA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3All that for only $99? Holy *****, sign me up!
- klang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4..let's just remove the warning lables from everything and let Darwin's theories run it's course ..
- Livewire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5it must suck ballmers to be his kids.
- FishyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I'm no fan of Ballmer, but without seeing and hearing the interview it's hard to tell if he's joking or not. When all you have is a brief text excerpt of an interview, things can be taken out of context very easily.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Son, I want you to take these matches to school and burn every iPod you see."
- nerdherder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, digg for the pic.
- NicP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3err i think you are getting Steve Ballmer (CEO of Microsoft) confused with Steve Jobs (CEO of Apple)
I'm sure Steve Jobs uses an ipod and google :) - DannySpace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't know about Steve but I've always preached "Dont' Use Digg; Never Use Digg" and I've always stood by my word! Yep, that's right and....oh, wait...Damn!
- aywwts4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, never would have guessed Apple was considered a competitor to Microsoft, how silly is that, Apple just makes MP3 Players...
(sarcasm) - yoshu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's not that it's a big deal whether someones kid has access to Google or an Ipod, it's that he can't even stand to see these devices in his own home - let alone the real world as COMPETITION.
His job pays well - but Microsoft is loosing it's monopolistic hold on the world - so he is distraught, angered, and likely TRIES to hypnotize to his children (or maybe they really don't use google and hold some belief that ipods are EVIL, but they surely know of such things or will eventually).
I did a msn search for Steve Ballmer. This was the eighth hit http://news.com.com/Court+docs+Ballmer+vowed+to+kill+Google/2100-1014_3-5846243.html
His children must know his name?
AH... that's what's up with those parental control beta programs M$ has been pumping out.
Well, when they're permited out of the house - then they can MSN Steve Ballmer.
I'm kind of going on a tangent, but this just brings me around to the obvious - with Ballmer's abilities, could he really brainwash his kids? - The_Decryptor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3And it seem CNN is a mac fanboy site now, since that's where the interview came from.
- zbeast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Oh if I were apple.. I would send them free ipods. :)
Not using google. Well when your rich you don't really have to worry about getting any information.
Well I hope they use yahoo at lease. There never going to find anything on msn.
You did hear that Microsoft employees that use ipods on site get bitched at. - kevogod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@mofomojo
Right, I am sure poor people are living the dream. - HellGnome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Creative products + Altavista or some other second rate search.
Its not that hard to avoid those products, but why? -
