Steve Ballmer to his kids: "You don't use Google, you don't use iPods"

macdailynews.com — In an interview with CNN Money, he was asked if he owns an iPod. He replied: "No, I do not. Nor do my children. My children--in many dimensions they're as poorly behaved as many other children, but at least on this dimension I've got my kids brainwashed: You don't use Google, and you don't use an iPod."

    You'd think he'd buy his kids every friggin' iPod, just to get some insight into which model they liked, and why.

    I wonder if he listens to MP3s or podcasts at all ... or restricts himself to WMAs and wmammycasts.

    Rich people are not things, or objects, but people. Being wealth obsessed get's you made fun of, even if you're a really nice guy; or whatever. Look at gates, nobody really knows him, he's gone to the classrooms of 2nd graders, yet people still badmouth him.

    Being rich is a curse, don't ever over-estimate it, for it is the most over-estimated thing on earth, trust me.

    Bill Gates always seemed like the sensible one, anyways, if I was to be anybody's kid, it would be his.

  • yoshu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's not that it's a big deal whether someones kid has access to Google or an Ipod, it's that he can't even stand to see these devices in his own home - let alone the real world as COMPETITION.

    His job pays well - but Microsoft is loosing it's monopolistic hold on the world - so he is distraught, angered, and likely TRIES to hypnotize to his children (or maybe they really don't use google and hold some belief that ipods are EVIL, but they surely know of such things or will eventually).

    I'm kind of going on a tangent, but this just brings me around to the obvious - with Ballmer's abilities, could he really brainwash his kids?
