- Devo777, on 11/03/2007, -2/+9This is stupid... You could just take the cord running from the computer to the stereo and plug into into the ipod... You still have to play the music from the computer.
What we need is to be able to stream the music from the ipod to an airport express..... - Lou22Lou, on 11/01/2007, -0/+5neoneddy - to go the other way just use DOT.TUNES http://www.dottunes.net
It allows you to stream your iTunes Library to your iPhone or Touch via WIFI or Edge (EDGE is iPhone only of course) - neoneddy, on 11/01/2007, -0/+4if only it went the other way.. stream from mac to iphone
- jondus, on 11/01/2007, -0/+3Works as advertised!
- luchid, on 11/01/2007, -0/+3No.
- teknotant, on 11/02/2007, -0/+3I would like to have a VPN connection, like hamachi, to stream my music from any open wi-fi hot spot.
- Phoney, on 11/01/2007, -2/+5Wow! This is fantastic! I just got software to run on my iPhone this morning, and now this! What a great idea!
- WolfDV, on 11/01/2007, -0/+2neat, but what i want is software that allows me to acess/stream music over wifi from my network shares. (not necessarily using itunes, just general smb/ftp/shares
That would be the must have app for the touch/iphone - amprancid, on 11/01/2007, -0/+2I second that. I'm curious on battery impacts though. There currently isn't a quick method to turn sharing on and off. The service runs @ startup.
- jkbrowne, on 11/02/2007, -0/+2I'd really like to have a shoutcast client for the iPhone/iPod Touch. That's the one killer app (for me) that's missing right now.
- JonathanB, on 11/01/2007, -0/+2Weird, you just joined and digged the only two speaker heaven articles.
- goeric, on 11/01/2007, -0/+2Make sure you add the website to your sources, don't launch the link in Safari.
- luchid, on 11/01/2007, -0/+2Yup. Salling Clicker for the iPhone would be AWESOME.
- ramsinks.com, on 11/01/2007, -0/+1It squirts!
- kingkilr, on 11/01/2007, -1/+2Does "hacking" the iPhone/iPod Touch prevent your library from syncing with iTunes?
- Kev1000000, on 11/01/2007, -0/+1This is awesome, but does the server continuously run? Wouldn't this run down our batteries fairly quickly?
- inactive, on 11/03/2007, -0/+1yep works great, but how do i turn it off...
- arunarun2000, on 11/01/2007, -0/+1it works great !!!
- SillyMamma, on 11/01/2007, -0/+1Use UIctl to switch the server on and off. You don't need to leave it running all the time.
- virtualball, on 11/01/2007, -2/+3...reply button?
- edgecrush3r, on 02/18/2008, -0/+0I just released an iPhone application which lets you stream music from your local network (also using FireFly media server) TO your iPhone..
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmcrossfire
The nice thing about FireFly media server, is you can installed it on most embedded device(s) and platforms so no computer needs beeing running.
Hope you guys enjoy it,
Tony - ghoch, on 04/06/2008, -0/+0Great!!! Thanks!

Tony - Phisolo, on 11/03/2007, -1/+1That is the point. Your Mac can connect to your Airport. and stream music wirelessly to your stereo.
I also have VNSea on the iPhone so I can remote control our media server. We have a headless mac mini serving iTunes. Now my iphone's library is another option. This Rocks.
I'm still wondering about memory usage etc. since this runs at startup. Installer can always un-install it, but that seams like a big PITA. - rhydewithdis, on 11/03/2007, -0/+0this is a very cool mod. works exactly as described.
one thing that would put this over the top is if i could control my iTunes on the computer VIA the iphone (i.e. change to the next song from the iphone itself). - 360modena, on 11/03/2007, -1/+1Not if you're at a party and don't have one of those headphone extenders for the iPhone handy... Then this is perfect.
- inactive, on 02/27/2008, -1/+0Pretty damn cool although there are things that do the job much better http://musicgearcentral101.shinyblogs.com/
