- Me1000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4WOW! this made safari much more stable!
- mingistech, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Oh poop.... it nixed all my iPhone mods!
- dalamar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Nice to see they are working out the kinks in the 1.0 version of the iPhone software before releasing new features.
- elvenseven, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I'll stick with 1.0.0.1.3 beta
- ericdano, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I love Apple. They constantly improve their stuff. Compare that with my Palm Treo 650 that didn't get any upgrades at all........
- DipDog3, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2No new features, and it removes my mods!
No upgrade for me!
http://red-rome.com - mike17032, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1All 3 of the adds on this page are for Verizion FiOS for me.
But they show 2 different prices for the same thing... - rwallen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Still can't simply drag and drop music onto the iPhone. booooo
- technotimber, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1have you always been able to copy pics to and from the phone? and/or delete them from explorer? don't know if it is new, just never noticed before.

- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -6/+3buried for being iPhone related.
- Me1000, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3and I buried you for being a dick!
- Jeffrey903, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Just to warn people - if you have installed any type of mod to the iPhone, the update will fail and will go to recovery mode and will require a restore. I figured this wasn't an issue since iTunes keeps a "complete" backup of the iPhone. After I did the restore, I discovered that the following things were missing:
- All of my text messages
- All of the photos I took using the built in camera (luckily they were backed up in iPhoto, but I am guessing they will be gone even if they aren't backed up)
- My YouTube bookmarks
- All of my stocks
- My Maps bookmarks and recents
- All of my weather locations
- My world clock locations and alarm clocks
- All of my notes (and there was no way to back these up in the first place)
- All of my settings (especially the known wifi locations)
- All of my phone favorites and recents
- All of my e-mail accounts
And last but not least, all of my mods (which is fine, but the rest is unacceptable).
I really would've thought that restoring the iPhone would truly restore everything, but I was sadly mistaken. I don't care that this is a v1 product, this should've been working properly from the start. I hope Apple addresses this quickly.
That being said, I still love my iPhone!- Jerk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1According to TFA, the update completely wipes modded phones. I'd like to see some feedback from owners of non-modded iPhone owners to see if the same thing happens. I would guess that it doesn't.
- jkoke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It wipes them, but restores from your last backup/sync. I had to do a restore and lost only my stored email and voicemail passwords. Everything else was returned to my phone exactly as it was before (minus the mods, of course)
- JimUrban, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0That'll Learn ya not to fsck with Steve's baby.
- jkoke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I had modded my phone and had to do a complete restore, but didn't lose those things. I kept all stocks, weather, notes, maps bookmarks, youtube bookmarks, text messages and settings. I did have to re-enter my email and voicemail passwords and I lost the custom ringtones I had loaded in via iFuntastic. So I guess it's different for different people.
- klatt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Guys, make sure that you not only "restore" your iPhone to bring it back to factory settings but also that you use the backup. I lost everything too but once I used the backup it brought back literally EVERYTHING minus the music which came about in my first synch

- ilobmirt, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Great. :|
On one hand, the iPhone isn't open to remote exploiting.
Less chance that someone is going to screw around with your iPhone. :D
On the other hand, the iPhone isn't open to exploiting.

decisions... decisions... - eiatheplaya, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The most interesting part for me is the version numbering. Naming it 1.0.1 suggests that there are going to be a 1.1.0 at some point which might include new features and not only bug/security fixes that seem to come with the nn.nn.XX releases.
- MPB326, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Beware, I was forced to restore my iphone in order to install this update even though I haven't unlocked/installed any mods.
