Rising iPhone Browser Share Points To Sales Of 5 Million 3G

appleinsider.com — The iPhone's share of the worldwide browser market has increased nearly two fold following the release of the iPhone 3G last month, leading researchers at PacificCrest to suggest that September quarter sales of the device may be tracking 1.5 million units ahead of expectations.

  • InCider, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Apple had 27% market share among US smartphones last year. It's selling 4x as many, so it has likely already passed WiMo worldwide.

    You can bring up Nokia's millions of crap phones that do nothing, but Nokia itself isn't sitting back content to churn out dummy phones forever. It, along with every other phone maker, is taking the iPhone very seriously.
