Purchase New Movies on iTunes Same Day as DVD Release
apple.com — Apple today announced that new movie releases from major film studios and premier independent studios are available for purchase on the iTunes® Store on the same day as their DVD release.

- obeythefist, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1What this press release says is that certain movies that have been ok'd by certain studios will be sold with such ridiculously over-protective DRM that you'll probably end up deleting the file the next time you're hurting for disk space, anyway, on iTunes for $14.
This would only be actual news worth digging if they were announcing that DRM free versions of all new releases from all major studios were available for download on the day of release for a serious discount over the physical DVD version (since you're also already paying for the delivery method with your internet bill) or if they were talking about rentals.
