- kangy3213, on 10/21/2008, -10/+50there are imperfections, but the iphone is still awesome
- badtzmartin, on 10/20/2008, -3/+37I'd put Flash around 2 or 3...
And I'd add #6 - the ability to record video. My (now) 4-year-old Moto v710 could do it, why not my 2 1/2 month old iPhone 3G? - totorototoro, on 10/21/2008, -3/+20Just fix Mobile Safari first. It is still unstable, and crashes way too often for a browser.
- lowtolerance, on 10/21/2008, -5/+20it doesn't even have a headphone jack :(
- mrsteveman1, on 10/21/2008, -3/+17Doubt it
- Billistic, on 10/21/2008, -1/+14Go pwn your phone, then get cycorder.
- pogoyoyo, on 10/21/2008, -2/+13NO BLUETOOTH???
major issue in my opinion
i switched from BB curve to iphone, now i am SERIOUSLY regretting it.... not to mention the curve didnt crash 60% of the time when on a site.. - Juaquin, on 10/20/2008, -3/+14Just about all of these (minus email landscape and flash) are available on Cydia after jailbreaking (as well as many of the things people are listing here, like wifi switches, video, etc). Seriously people, it's easy as hell and doesn't break your precious phone so just go ahead and do it so we can stop having to stare at these useless lists that highlight the same things over and over.
Jailbreaking voids the warranty? How do they know? Restore it to original firmware - if it's too messed up to do that, then they won't be able to check the firmware anyways until it's back in China being refurbed. - DeathJux, on 10/21/2008, -1/+12I just want a landscape keyboard for notes.
That's it. It would be the perfect note-taking device with a landscape keyboard. - polalion, on 10/21/2008, -6/+16Apple is not perfect?! Blasphemy!
- edge777, on 10/21/2008, -1/+11My top list (the others are good too):
1. FIX FETCH/PUSH MAIL (which has been broken since 2.1 - how can Apple even be considered serious when they've left this go for so long).
2. Bluetooth keyboard support. - adambadam, on 10/21/2008, -2/+11Mine has been crashing more and more frequently. I will be in the middle of a Web site, after its already loaded, and poof. There goes the browser. Same with apps. Lets get the kinks out of the OS for a start then we can talk about adding copy and paste.
- DelMonte, on 10/21/2008, -0/+8Yes it was on the iPhone before, but Apple removed it. This feature was responsible for several crashes and problems on iPhones, it'll probably will get put back once they've fixed the problem.
- BrendanSheehan, on 10/20/2008, -0/+8That.. http://pleasefixtheiphone.com/ website is great. It's needed!
Here's my top 3, one is not software.
1. Copy & Paste
2. A far better camera with a flash (better photos and video)
3. Quick WiFi switch (like on jailbreak).
P.S. I'll take flash as long as I can turn it off, cause batter life is way more important to me. - deenoop, on 10/21/2008, -0/+8Amen brother! that bluetooth limitation to just headset is simply stupid.
i was looking forward to using the bluetooth functionality for a lot of things.
too bad apple doesn't feel this way. i'm surprised more people aren't upset over this! - kevinmotel, on 10/20/2008, -2/+9i just wish i had bought netshare when i had the chance...
- edge777, on 10/21/2008, -1/+7I have a jailbroken iPhone - please let me know how I can connect a bluetooth keyboard or stereo headphones. It's on this list but I'm fairly certain there's no Cydia apps for that.
Oh ya, my email fetch/push has been broken since 2.1. That needs to be fixed, and Cydia won't do it.
So ya, there are MANY things on this list that need to be fixed, and Jailbreaking won't do it. Don't be so simplistic, and quit pushing your jailbreaking on those that don't want to do it. - PilotHead, on 10/21/2008, -1/+7After 2 years in the market, 1 billion blogs, 1 billion articles, 1 million applications, 1 billion digg, thousands of similar websites, and countless "How would you make your iPhone better" poles, you'd think Apple would of done something by now.
Just give it up, they are simply not interested in investing time, money, or man power to do it. They already sold 10 million units (so people are obviously happy with the way it is), and he no longer has to even touch the phone because of the Application Store.
If Steve Jobs or Apple wanted to add ANY of these applications, they would of done it long ago. They'll just keep selling more, release occasional patch and firmware, just like any other company. Apple is not your best friend, he's not your mother, or your right-hand man, they are a company who wants to make money, and those of you who bought it already gave it to them. - SolaFida, on 10/21/2008, -1/+7Also, look in to what the product you are about to purchase can and can not do. It saves you from having buyers remorse.
- serif69, on 10/21/2008, -0/+6I only have issues with MobileSafari, and then only on certain sites. But it's persistent on those sites, which is ***** annoying when I'm trying to read, say, a restaurant review.
- kanvas, on 10/21/2008, -0/+6Open it to other carriers because AT&T sucks?
- foldor, on 10/21/2008, -1/+7Why would this be a list for Steve Jobs? He can't code for *****.
- inactive, on 10/21/2008, -1/+7Dugg for the creepy user who submitted this
- YesImAChick, on 10/20/2008, -5/+11http://pleasefixtheiphone.com/problems/view/257
- bassfanatik, on 10/21/2008, -0/+5MMS messaging and bluetooth file transfer/keyboard support would be nice. How about letting us customize the text message ringtone? I regularly hear the standard "text" tone go off and always check my phone, only to find that the guy in front of me just got a text.
- opeyre, on 10/20/2008, -1/+6And check out the iPhone version!
http://pleasefixtheiphone.com/pages/about/#gallery - opeyre, on 10/20/2008, -0/+5that was the idea behind this: let's gather all of our voices and posts to show Apple that we care!
- RobotBuddha, on 10/21/2008, -0/+5By your logic nobody, anywhere, should be allowed to be happy. Hell, I probably am one of those people you think everyone else should be considering before enjoying their lives and I give them permission.
- psYcon, on 10/21/2008, -0/+5FYI, I am typing this on my desktop which is using tethered 3G internet using the jailbreak app PdaNet. And yes, it's much better than NetShare. And its free.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/21/2008, -0/+5Glad to hear it. I wanted that feature, but when it was pointed out, I could have sworn I'd seen it as well. I was feeling very senile for a bit.
- caffeinejunkie, on 10/21/2008, -0/+4I want landscape text messaging!
- Scott2, on 10/21/2008, -0/+4I don't consider my iphone to be broken, but I do support that as an enhancement request list.
- mackie99, on 10/21/2008, -0/+4What about MMS?
- imautobot, on 10/21/2008, -0/+4Here is an idea! Allow 3rd party web browsers! Safari sucks. Some days it crashes on me as many as 5 or 6 times! Sometimes while entering text in boxes like this. Every time it crashes I have to fight the urge NOT to throw it through a wall! My 3G was the first apple product I ever bought. Considering their (apple's) legacy of making stable products, I am apalled at how unstable the iPhone 3G is. Safari isn't the only app that crashes, but it is by far the most serious offender. And since APPLE ignores it's customer complaints, I guess registering my disgust here is about the best I can do.
- stuffradio, on 10/21/2008, -1/+5As stated in your previous comment about it, go to settings, and you'll see bluetooth in there. You just need to turn it on!
- u5bLue, on 10/21/2008, -1/+5Landscape view for texting..
- huggybarrel, on 10/21/2008, -1/+5actually it has bluetooth
- inactive, on 10/21/2008, -0/+4whoosh
- SouthsideIrish, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3Adobe needs approval to do it, and Apple isn't approving it.
- chroko, on 10/21/2008, -0/+31. DISABLE TILT on a per-application basis. This is rage-inducing if you're trying to use Safari / iPod app while walking and it gets stuck sideways.
2. Do not automatically load images in email (eg: spam).
3. Copy + Paste.
That's it for me.
It seems like that site has a lot of people who don't use their iPhone when out and about - you can imaging my distaste at the #2 suggestion of wanting tilt in the email app. - puter, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3No kidding. That's the MOST important feature.
Having to go to every subfolder to get your email is *****.
They _can not_ compete in the enterprise market until this works. Had I realize that it wouldn't work for this long, I would not have bought an iphone.
if it is not fixed before it's time to get a new phone, I'm on to something else. - RobotBuddha, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3@Billistic
Agreed. The official apps were a great step, but sadly pwn'ing is still needed. Cycorder and Backgrounder increased the amount of use I get out of my iPhone by a pretty large amount. - calebac09, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3MMS
Landscape Texting
T9 Option (I wouldn't use it myself, but I know of other iPhone users that would like it) - stealthspc, on 10/21/2008, -1/+4They are under a contract with AT&T.
- spriggig, on 10/21/2008, -1/+4I like my iPod Touch--but there's one app I'd even jailbreak for: Cable connect to my digital camera to use the Touch for on the go image dumping, viewing, simple editing and uploading. With that ability I could leave my laptop at home on vacation.
- ThaDRD, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3And landscape typing for emails.
- MikeCerm, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3I only keep the iPhone around so I can browse the web on it, but Safari crashes so much that it's just not worth it anymore. Once my netbook arrives, the iPhone is gone.
- pond70, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3Apple solution to the word "fix" brand new version next year
Hip Hip Hooray for such an awesome business model !!!!!!! - mrsteveman1, on 10/21/2008, -0/+3i mean for playing stuff like hulu etc. That's what a lot of people want, the ability to play back the sorensen and h264 codecs in those random flash players.
