I'd be surprised if it wasn't... - RatBagu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Haven't Universal Binaries been around for a while?
I read somewhere on Apple's developer connection that they've been converting them over for a while. I'll post a link if I can find it again. - Spwarfy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Since 10.4.3, when you select an application, the info panel adds a new category called "architecture", and tells you if the app is "PowerPC" and/or "Intel".
The last version of Cyberduck is listed as "Intel/PowerPC". - tophfisher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0macharborguy: universal binary does in fact mean on Apple's x86 based Mac can run the software, or you could use the same binary file and run the app on the PPC both in native mode.
- sufferingant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sure does, http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/9665/picture10oz.png for verification if you don't believe me :P
- sufferingant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm pretty sure it works on OSX86. I use X86 as my only OS right now, and will try to get it to work tommorow. I'll keep you posted

Apple never made Cyberduck. - smhill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There are a ton of 3rd party apps that are already universal binaries. Opera, Textmate, and so on.
- sufferingant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ya baby!!!!! I got Front Row to work using UnEasySilences Guide: http://www.uneasysilence.com/archive/2005/10/4471/ Just download the file, put it in Core Services and Applications folder, restart, open it from Applications, and hold escape. Kinda buggy, but does work!!!!W00T!!!!
- sufferingant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As far as I know, Photo booth also works. I have it installed, but lack a camera, so am unable to test. It does show an icon, but when I open it, it says "you have no camera attached..." etc
- SATURN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Photo Booth does work with both Intel and PowerPC, just Get Info on Photo Booth (Command-I), and is says under "More Info": (only if you have 10.4.3)
"Architecture: Intel, PowerPC" - MacHarborGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pardon my lack of understanding, but when I think "universal binary", i was assuming that Photo Booth worked on both PPCOSX and OSX86. I didn't see anything in the article mention OSX86, which is why I ask.
- Carter1214, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0All I wanna know is if they're going to release the application for older apple users with external i-sights...anyone know?
- McZiggz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0now that i think of it... @ that keynote Steve SAID the OS and everything Apple has been putting out has been prepared for universal binaries. So i guess this is less of a big deal than originally thougt.
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hm no, FrontRow is NOT an universal binary. The app info only says PowerPC.
- klaupacius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sufferingant: can you let me know if you have any luck. too bad about Front Row.
- chevyorange, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0OS X is OS X. Quit this OSX86 BS!
