- Anzat, on 12/09/2008, -3/+18None of these seem especially noteworthy. I want a fix for the goddamn spaces-jumping windows in Office 2008 for Mac!
- Overcyn, on 12/09/2008, -2/+16i cant take anymore of this useless bickering. its tearing apart this family.
- zdiddy85, on 12/09/2008, -6/+20WTF is with the Mac vs PC war in here?
- zeabu, on 12/09/2008, -12/+26I don't like Microsoft, but to say OSX is "perfect when compared to anything ***** out by Microsoft" is intellectually unfair. They're both crap. One is ugly, and fragile as glass, the other is goodlooking, but you only can use it the way Mr Jobs thinks you should. Let's see what the future brings: Win7 or 8, OSX 10.6, ReactOS....
- Slackersrule, on 12/09/2008, -2/+14So where's the list of fixes?
- inactive, on 12/09/2008, -2/+13The people who think that fixing bugs is somehow a bad thing really need help understanding some simple concepts.
Bug is found > Software Company Releases Fix > Bug no longer exists.
Do you cretins start yelling about how Firefox must be a piece of ***** every time they FIX a bug or security issue?
That is how stupid you are being. - LeonardNimrod, on 12/09/2008, -5/+16You obviously don't have one, because they fixed the driver issues with the unibody MB and MBPs a couple weeks ago. The trackpads works as expected now.
- dagamer34, on 12/09/2008, -4/+15Microsoft will never fix the issue. They've claimed they would need to "rewrite the entire program to make it spaces compatible". ***** MICROSOFT.
- tomato1324, on 12/09/2008, -0/+10so does this guy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-0wefMV_qk - pszcz1, on 12/09/2008, -4/+13More like business as usual, no one would give a damn
- EverTheCynic, on 12/09/2008, -3/+12The anti-Mac people seem to be much more vocal on digg. Fanboys and haters are both stupid. Just use your computers.
- inactive, on 12/09/2008, -0/+8We also have Linux vs Mac wars, those can be pretty brutal.
- FKnight, on 12/09/2008, -0/+8So, are we all willing to just bury the hatchet on the whole "my OS is better than your OS" stuff. Maybe it's time for all of us to collectively grow up and realize a few things; Mac users aren't 'fags', Windows users aren't 'stupid n00bz", Linux users aren't a bunch of stoned hippies, and Microsoft is not the incarnation of Satan on Earth,
Software is made by people and people are imperfect. Saying any OS sucks because it has bugs or because the vendor issues patches is ignorance.
I will also say that this whole thing about Mac's being perfect -- no intelligent Mac user thinks that, just like no intelligent Windows or Linux user thinks their favorite OS is perfect. As far as the Mac guy in the commercials -- yeah sure, he's an ass. It's just a freaking commercial though. The guys out spreading the word about Linux are mostly asses too. Microsoft are just asses because of the price of their stuff, and the "$" is well deserved sometimes when referring to their name.
The point is, it's all ass dude. It's a big doo sandwich and we all gotta take a bite. - btschul, on 12/09/2008, -25/+32No, it just looks perfect when compared to anything ***** out by Microsoft.
- TheFinaleofSeem, on 12/09/2008, -0/+7Please tell me they're going to fix the goddamned Nvidia drivers. Those have been buggy since Leopard came out.
- jsauter, on 12/09/2008, -1/+8All software has bugs in it. No matter if it is written in Redmond or Cupertino. So, what's the big deal if Apple releases a software patch?
- tomato1324, on 12/09/2008, -3/+10microsoft releases hundreds of windows patches on a regular basis.....and as a mac user, i could care less.
- inactive, on 12/09/2008, -0/+6Where does this twisted self hate come from??
Most mac users welcome these 'point' releases as they often fix bugs and improve performance. That is not a bad thing.
Releasing security patches and bug fixes is a good thing, no matter what OS you use. - inactive, on 12/09/2008, -3/+9"No, it just looks perfect when compared to anything ***** out by Microsoft."
This coming from someone who obviously doesn't know jack *****. Microsoft set a standard for application and development software that has yet to be matched. Microsoft also didn't stop innovating with USEFUL UI advancements, whereas Apple's UI designers have apparently been sitting on their asses polishing multicolored gumdrops for the last 20 years. How else do you explain an OS GUI that still forces users to squint into an '80s black-text-on-white-background color scheme, that forces all running apps to share one menu that's locked at the top of one screen, and that doesn't even allow you to resize windows from their edges? Or the travesty that is the Finder?
Microsoft laid a pitiful turd with Vista, and the default XP UI scheme is an embarrassment, but if you're troweling out criticism, set aside plenty for Apple as well. - inactive, on 12/09/2008, -5/+11I'm a Linux user and there isn't anything wrong with Windows it just works, lets see Apple support more then one hardware company and support 88% of the market then you guys can talk ***** about Microsoft. That being said I'm no Mac hatter and would take a Macbook pro in a heart beat.
- piddlespank, on 12/09/2008, -0/+610.5.5 to 10.5.6 will be one...
- marksands07, on 12/09/2008, -0/+5dude right there with you. that PISSES me off soooooo bad
- bryceman111, on 12/09/2008, -0/+5I hope , but doubt, that in this update, the early '08 Macbooks will get the four finger gestures, as it is only a software limit, not hardware.
- natenovs, on 12/09/2008, -1/+5*****, 100 bugs get fixed a week? there must be a ton of bugs ....
- BayAreaKing, on 12/09/2008, -0/+4@Anzat, and that's why I downgraded to Office 2004...still a POS, but better than OpenOffice in my opinion.
- vawksel, on 12/09/2008, -1/+5Guys, STFU saying "Ohh, over 100 mistakes". You haven't a clue. MS's and Apple's bug database for an OS is around 20,000+ bugs.
Most are very minor with some moderate. This is just how things are. MS tends to regularly be patching moderate bugs and some severe where Apple tends to not have shipped as many moderate bugs and has more minor with sparse severe bugs.
It's just the way it is. Now please STFU with the stupid comments about "Oooh over 100 bugs", there are tens of thousands of bug in any OS, we're talking tens or hundreds of millions of lines of code. - inactive, on 12/09/2008, -2/+6You forgot Linux vs. The World.
- dagamer34, on 12/09/2008, -1/+4People like a good mudslinging war. It's no fun when one side beats up the other endlessly, like iPod vs. all other PMPs. it's quite boring really.
- northernmunky, on 12/09/2008, -0/+3I miss it too, the new fadein/out was such a cop out
- FrellMeDead, on 12/09/2008, -4/+7Considering how many times/posts Mac fanboys jump on microsoft, linux, or any company except apple when patches are released why are you surprised that since there have been more and more patch releases for the mac that the PC fanboys would jump to point this out. Especially considering how every Apple commercial, statement, etc tries to make it seem like Apple/mac products are the best things out there and in no way could be vulnerable even though it has been shown time and time again that Apple/mac products are not safer or better then windows, linux, etc. especially with regards to bugs/ patches, security, etc. Maybe if Apple didn't make blatantly false statements then people would stop pointing them out as much. I'm not saying other companies are better with regards to the statements they put out but it seems as though Apple tries to make a point of being ignorant of the facts in front of them and to instead take cheap shots at others especially since non tech people wouldn't know any better, well maybe only those that have some common sense and an IQ over 80 would understand and grasp the truth of the matter.

- btschul, on 12/09/2008, -3/+6"you only can use it the way Mr Jobs thinks you should" Can you give an example? I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything I'm really not sure what you're referring to.
- DelMonte, on 12/09/2008, -1/+3"if microsoft released 100 windows patches, you macboys would be all over it...saying how MS sucks. I guess macs suck too."
I wouldn't be one of them, and that doesn't make it right. - pazimzadeh, on 12/09/2008, -1/+3not the OS but windows runs on mac
apple writes the drivers - eatrains, on 12/09/2008, -4/+6The only people claiming that Apple products are perfect are the Apple haters.

Only 100 bugs? That's far better than the over 500 errors addressed in Vista SP1 :
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=366
" No wonder the Wow had so much trouble getting started. By Microsoft’s own count, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 rolls up 551 separate hotfixes, in addition to 23 security updates rated Important" - mrBitch, on 12/09/2008, -1/+2@pszcz1, Zing !
@energizere2 RE: " if microsoft released 100 windows patches, you macboys would be all over it...saying how MS sucks. I guess macs suck too. "
The funny thing about your comment is that Microsoft had more than 100 patches in Vista SP1 :
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=366
" No wonder the Wow had so much trouble getting started. By Microsoft’s own count, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 rolls up 551 separate hotfixes, in addition to 23 security updates rated Important" - ilgaz, on 12/10/2008, -0/+1If they fixed (updated drivers), Apple will get rid of many and many of 10.4.11 dual booting users and their problems.
Typing this from 10.4.11 which I booted to play a game with sane FPS while 10.5.5 sits there as idle.
In fact, I cancelled a big NVidia order and switched to ATI just because of that stupid OS X issue. I didn't like their "we don't support" template. It is their chip and image getting wasted. They should at least ask Apple about what is going on. 5 major updates including a dedicated graphics update for God's sake.
Blizzard still officially recommends their PPC/Nvidia users keep their 10.4.11 to run the WoW game. Think about it. - MacParrot, on 12/09/2008, -2/+3Those are ads. Stop taking them so personal. There are bug fixes because OS X is not perfect. Apple and most sane Mac users readily acknowledge this and still prefer it over something else.
- MacParrot, on 12/09/2008, -0/+1I would agree with that as well. I have some serious blue screen nightmares running Vista HP and the fault is NOT Microsoft's but Apple's since they are the one who created the drivers
- MacParrot, on 12/09/2008, -0/+1Wow, take a breath once in a while. Why not just use the computer and/or OS you prefer and not be so concerned about advertisements and what other people think?
- gjscds, on 12/09/2008, -0/+1Where'd they say this?
- gutistg, on 12/09/2008, -0/+1You guys really don't like antiquated hat jokes.
