MacScoop has found the iPhone subscription plans for France by searching Orange’s iPhone website, and found unlinked pages that showed the pricing plans.
49€/mo Plan:
- 2 hours + 2 (late evening or week-end) hours of voice calls:
- 50 SMS
- 10 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and data
59€/mo Plan:
- 3 hours + 3 (late evening or week-end) hours of voice calls:
- 100 SMS
- 10 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and EDGE data
79€/mo Plan:
- 5 hours + 5 (late evening or week-end) hours of voice calls:
- 150 SMS
- 10 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and EDGE data
119€/mo Plan:
- 8 hours + 8 hours of voice calls:
- 1000 SMS
- 100 hours of Orange Wifi
- Unlimited VoiceMail, E-Mail and EDGE data
Although all the plans advertise Unlimited EDGE data, Orange warns that their will be an unofficial fair use limit of 500MB. Also, it should be noted that the low end iPhone plans all include only 10 hours of Orange’s international Wifi and only the top plan for 119€/mo includes 100 hours of their Wifi. All of these limitations, and time restrictions limit this plan, an don’t make it as desirable as it could be. - computershack, on 11/24/2007, -5/+17Until the iPhone gets 3G, it's a dead duck in Europe. So far sales have barely made it to "Tens of thousands". It has also fared poorly in comparison tests with the Nokia N95.
- jessestorm, on 11/24/2007, -5/+12Who else clicked this thinking it was going to be an orange coloured iPhone?
- quadvods, on 11/24/2007, -1/+8This is an iphone tarrif... all 'normal' tarrifs are about 10x better for call time and most tarrifs have unlimted text messages too.
- Tippis, on 11/24/2007, -0/+6Jesus F. Christ in a handbag! Talk about screwing you customers over O_o
- blesbok, on 11/24/2007, -2/+6Wow, europe really gets ***** on call time. I can't imagine what a phone bill looks like for someone who uses their phone 24/7 for business.
- ChromaVita, on 11/24/2007, -1/+5Looks like an -Accidental Single Post-
- spiralspirit, on 11/24/2007, -1/+4It's a bandwidth cap on a supposedly "unlimited" connection. I wonder if something like that is illegal in france.
- toetagger, on 11/24/2007, -1/+4"unofficial fair use limit of 500MB" WTF does this mean?
- SSUK, on 11/24/2007, -1/+4Ah, the joys of forcing a phone to a carrier. Apple sure know how to ***** things up for their customers. But hey, they're getting rich off their fans blind faith.
- secleinteer, on 11/24/2007, -0/+3"49€/mo Plan:

Are you ***** kidding me? 4 hours of talk time per month when you pay the equivalent of $100!!!! - Bamborzled, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2Apparently you cared enough to click on this article.
- Caprica, on 11/24/2007, -1/+3Not in France. Here's an example : 2 hrs + 0 SMS + 3 unlimited (voice, SMS and MMS) Orange numbers + unlimited TV + 0 data = 33 Euros.
With the iPhone, for 15 extra Euros I get unlimited data and gain 2 hrs. I lose the unlimited TV (which was ***** anyway) and my 3 unlimited Orange numbers (this sucks). - spiralspirit, on 11/24/2007, -1/+3seems expensive.
- codewater, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2In Sweden you get unlimited calls (within the country),SMS and data (turbo 3G 7,2Mbits) for about 90 Euro/Month. I am a Macbook owner and I really like Apple but seriously; this is a total rip off!
- hiro, on 11/24/2007, -4/+6I don't know why you're being dugg down, it's the truth! Presumably American Apple fans don't want their dreams shattered - unlike their phone the first time it's dropped
- Velirno, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2I forgot about that site. Looks like my touch is loosing it's shiny metal (scratched) ass soon :)
- fluxboxuk, on 11/26/2007, -0/+2you gotta be kidding... my orange plan at the moment is £25 a month and i get 1500 SMS and 500 Mins anytime any number ! orange France = rip off
- blesbok, on 11/24/2007, -2/+4I can't imagine why anyone would pay that much for a ***** phone with slow internet, but then again that applies to America too.
- musicpyrite, on 11/24/2007, -1/+3Because Americans have no other options *****. Learn a little bit about geography and econ 101 before you bash ***** prices and ***** speeds.
- thomashauk, on 11/25/2007, -0/+2"Orange as the carrier"
Big mobile company in France and the UK. Their logo is an orange square. - iViper, on 11/24/2007, -1/+2Original Source(s)

English: http://www.macscoop.com/articles/2007/11/21/orange ... - Tippis, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1Compare this to Sweden, where €50 buys you a month of free calls, free SMS, free MMS (not that it applies here), and for an extra €10, you get free (3G) data for a month.
Or, if you're not that heavy a user – or, rather, someone who talks for a long time, but not that often – you can go for something like free minutes + €0.05 for each call or SMS for €15, (and still €10 extra for free data). - ErikHK, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1http://www.colorwarepc.com/_inventoryImages/images ...
Could it get uglier than that? - louse101, on 11/26/2007, -0/+1Man, I thought our iPhone plans in the UK blew, but this is even worse. In the UK, Orange gives me 500 x-network mins, unlimited texts, unlimited evening and weekend data, unlimited calls to orange numbers and a free N95, all for £30 ($60) a month. France, for the first time in history, you have my sympathies.
- Tippis, on 11/24/2007, -2/+3Welcome to Europe.
What's probably confusing you is this fancy concept we have over here called "free market", which means that we have more than one company in each sector, and which means customers get a wider variety of choice. - cm702, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1that plus this http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/ipod/review/incip ...
- pyrates, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1where's the unlimited evenings and weekends? glad I got my city fido plan :)
- Yuska, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1Harden the ***** up!
- grayson, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1Seeing the plans of both Orange in France and T-Mobile in Germany make me quite happy with free market capitalism, even if we are stuck with the general mediocrity that is AT&T (I predict Apple will jump-ship once their contract expires).
- pxa270, on 11/24/2007, -2/+2Yeah, in the Netherlands you can get 300 outgoing minutes for € 8 per month (receiving calls and voicemail is free), € 5 extra for 120 outgoing SMS (receiving is free), € 7 extra for unlimited data plan. This is for just for the services, they'll send you a SIM card and you provide your own phone (if you don't have any, you can get one for a few tens to several hundreds, depending how fancy you want it to be.
Just to illustrate what you can get if you don't go for the service+phone package deals. - MrPig, on 11/25/2007, -1/+1You're an idiot. There are many wireless providers. The reason it's rather limited (as limited as Europe) is because INFRASTRUCTURE IS EXPENSIVE. No company would build a network or put down fiber in an area if they didn't know that they'd be able to get costumers. Hence why there is only one cable company per-area and only one phone company (land line); no other companies would want to lay the fiber. If it wasn't for the government contracts (I.E. government allowing one company to build an area) some (if not most) of the United States wouldn't have telecommunications services because no company would want to lay the fiber.
Before you go all smug European on us, use your mind. - halogenic, on 11/25/2007, -1/+0No way I'd sign up with Orange again. They're only interested in themselves and treat their customers like crap.
- tyywebb, on 11/24/2007, -3/+1Anyone else having trouble commenting with Safari 3 Beta?
/comment hijack - corevette, on 11/24/2007, -13/+9for those of you who thought you would get an orange iphone (yes the color), try this: http://www.micahville.com/2007/10/28/colorware-not ...
- dnields, on 11/24/2007, -8/+4Hasn't everyone heard enough about the iPhone yet?
- Kratos76, on 11/24/2007, -6/+1dugg down for no description of what "orange" is in the description at all!! Digg is mostly us ignorant americans, you know.
- sandman979, on 11/24/2007, -8/+2Who cares? Really, who the hell cares. Is a stupid device just like a toaster or a car. Get over it.
Buried for incredibly trivial fanboy stupidity. - Subhazard, on 11/24/2007, -7/+0-Accidental Double Post-
- Subhazard, on 11/24/2007, -13/+0Hmm, Orange? Never heard of it. I don't think we have Orange here in America.
