Not So Fast Mr. Jobs: The REAL iPhone Feature Comparison Chart
theapplepress.com — Did Steve Jobs suck you into his Reality Distortion Field this morning with his iPhone press release? How about that competitive data chart released by Apple? The iPhone sure beats all those other ’smartphones’ out there doesn’t it? Not if you take a look at a whole different set of tech-specs it doesn’t. Take a look for yourself…

- streak, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2MMS is so-o-o last century. iPhone uses a real web browser. All of the others have plastic screens that appear foggy and/or rainbowed when viewed through polarizing sunglasses. You forgot to add in the weight of an extra battery for the others. Anything above 2 Mpixels is a waste, considering the awful lenses available in cell phones. Use streaming Internet radio. None of the others works with iTunes. All of the other screens are puny in comparison to the iPhone. Windows Mobile sucks; the Palm modifications just suck a little less. iPhone has bluetooth, so GPS will probably be an option. No multi-touch on the cell phones. No Wi-Fi on the Treo. 4 GB minimum on iPhone. I guess where it matters for most people, Apple's comparison chart was more relevant.
- OS2Guy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2GPS isn't needed with Google Maps.
MMS can be handled easily with your instant email account and iPhone MMS browser app.
3G? Less than 20% of the Nation has it available. It would be wasted on the iPhone.
Camera Resolution: If I want a 5MPXL picture taking apparatus I'll buy a damn digital camera.
FM Radio - Internet Radio worldwide.
Replaceable Battery - 8 hours of talk, 16 hours of video, 24 hours of audio and 250 hours standby. NO cell phone maker comes near that. No need to replace it. Use your damn iPod plug and recharge it within 15 minutes. No cell phone maker offers that ability.
Integrated Modem - built-in Internet. Why on earth would you need to take up space inside with a modem?
Weight: it's an audio and video iPod, an Internet device and a cell phone of higher quality then any of the competitors.
Hey, you want a Nokia, Samsung, Blackberry or Palm? Buy one but don't come whining to me that you wish you had bought an iPhone.
