Ya think? - duke_nate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"Keep in mind that the list I just got in is unverified – so the info may be inaccurate."
Someone has to say it so it might as well be me........."SO WHY THE ***** DID YOU POST IT !?!"......oh yeah, this is digg... - drumnbass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is complete BS. No mention of iLife and iWork? Ha. Oh - I see; this is the same site that put up those visibly photoshopped images of the "iPhone" last week...
- Kloser331, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Black Cherry is the least Apple sounding name I've ever heard. No sir, no sir, no sir.
- dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, anyone that's read up on the keynotes knows that Steve's canned whole portions and products hours beforehand because the product won't demo right or His Steveness changed his mind about the application's design.
I'll believe there's no iPhone when Steve walks off the stage at the end of the presentation. Or when he drags out a musical guest. - TheRingmaster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"New iPod is released. 3.5 Inch screen, Bluetooth. NOT a touch-screen. Controlled through invisible “touchstrip” on the top side of the iPod that corresponds to symbols that appear on the upper portion of the iPod screen. 30GB $300, 80GB $400"
Guarantee of fakeness right there, as if it needed it. - unclejames, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Why go into detail about the touchstrip and not about what the Bluetooth does? (Anyone think that Bluetooth is a little pointless on a device like this? You need to plug it in to charge it, after all...)
- Baloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2buried as inaccurate...
completely inaccurate ***** blog entry - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bluetooth isn't only used for transfering files/music. It's the key technology enabling wireless connectivity to Bluetooth headsets such as the new ety8 by Etymotic. Only wireless will set you free from your iPod.
- virtualball, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Don't believe ANYTHING amobileme says, weren't they being hacked just two days ago? And the iPhone pictures featured "iPhone" and no apple icon on the ad. Everything they say is *****, don't believe it, they are just another blog trying to get in on the MacWorld frenzy.
- audiophil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why is the introduction of the new iLife/iWork bundle missing? There's always a new iLife in January...
- FoxtrotUSAF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm sick of all the damn iPhone posts. Yes, I'm excited to see it too. But remember Steve is obsessed with secrecy so no one in the public will know anything about it untill it comes out(with the exception of Kevin Rose). SO JUST SHUT THE F**K UP AND WAIT!
- martin77, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4" Wow, if this is a real e-mail, this is huge! "
...its quite sad if you genuinely get so excited over such trivia. - Antialias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I imagine this will be like many leaks before other Apple shows. Some of it's true, some not. We'll just have to wait and see.
Seems fairly legit though, doesn't have any of the over the top stuff that seems to sneak into many of these rumors.(OMG!!! Apple Tablet PC with a built in holographic projector and 7.1 surround sound!!) - Jeffrey903, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not even Steve Jobs knows what will be announced until the day of the keynote. He has been known to change the announcements at the very last minute.
- cybermort, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the thing about apple rumors is that some of them are right because some of them are is easy to guess. to the public it will seem like you have contacts in the inside which could increase the hits on your blog. but is bs non the less
- longofest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's made up. Wonder if it came from macOSrumors.com???
- cybermort, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no i charge my ipod on my way to work in the car. if it had bluetooth and automatically sync up every time i came close to my mac it would be the best upgrade to the ipod since the click wheel
- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sorry for replying to first comment. the site is down so here's the dugg mirror link:
http://duggmirror.com/apple/No_mentioning_of_the_iPhone_in_Steve_s_keynote_address/ - Antialias, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4IQ70,
It says the ipod will NOT have a touch screen, but a strip along the side that corresponds to buttons shown at the edge of the screen. Similar to how many cell phones have the two buttons that change their function depending on what is on the screen next to them. - erictheninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bluetooth is substantially slower than wifi. Bluetooth 2.0 is suppose to be faster, but maxes out at about 2.1 MBit/s which is far too slow to do music transfers even though the low power is attractive.
@OneAssa
He wasn't making any crazy proclamation that Bluetooth is only for copying files. Bluetooth headphones that aren't massive or ugly like the current handsfree devices would be kinda cool though. - atomic16, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Even if this is true which I am doubting the displays seem unbelievable. Apple's 20 inch display costs $700, now a days a top of the line 20 inch monitor costs no more than $400 or $450. If apple ups the price of 20 inch displays to $775 I doubt anyone will buy them, I can buy an ok tv for less than that. I am sure that if Apple says anything about their displays, it will include some form of price drop, either a smaller monitor, or just a general price drop.
Right now I am in the market for a monitor that I can use as a TV. I plan on buying a dell 20 inch with HDCP, so that I can input my TV via DVI and my computer via D-Sub. The only problem is that I will need extra speakers and I can not turn the monitor on via a remote, not huge problems. I am, however waiting until January 9th because if apple was to come out with monitors competing dells (with at least 2 inputs, currently they only feature 1) I would surely buy them. With the recent decline in Apple stock, they need something big, and something bigger. I say that they will release information (about ITV, Leopard etc) some thing to do with the ipod (new ipod, iphone whatever.) That will be the general population release, something that effects the Mac and Windows world. The Next will be something that effects Mac users alone (Ilife, .Mac, Displays, Iwork etc.) While some of those do apply to the windows world, they are aimed at mac users. Then they will need something huge, something to restart Ipod sales, or something to boost mac sales. We should also remember where apple is going with recent announcements. They seem to be heading towards the living room, so I would not be surprised at some TV like device, wether it is a tuner for macs (El Gato already does that so I doubt it) or a whole tv to go with the iTV. All in all, I do not think there will be disappointments at this upcoming macworld. Sure the Iphone may not get released, but something will fill its place, because if it doesn't, Apple will fail. Even if Itunes music store sales are not falling, Ipod sales certainly are. Ipods are the blood of Apple, and sales are what pump the blood through the body. If Apple does not restart their heart with a new ipod device, they will fall back to the company they were before the iPod. - hotdamn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok I take my last comment back.
After Steve Jobs complaining about the Zune's transfer to be slow, I highly doubt they'd go for bluetooth, which, as far as I know, is substantially slower than Wifi. - blogger123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think that even though it might look real, this guys just playing on our emotions. We want it to be real but it just seems really too accurate to be true.
- serpicolugnut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bull. Black Cherry? Even if this was descriptive of the new UI for Leopard, there is no way in h-e-double hockey sticks that Apple's marketing department would ever let out a feature/product called "Black Cherry".
Some moron wants some hits via Digg so he fabricated the ultimate digg getter. - caldroun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I call BS. You don't know what he is going to say until he says it. ANYONE could have made that list. Anyone that has been reading any apple rumors for the last couple of months.
- erictheninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"The iTV is revised and is now taller, and includes an iPod dock at the back. At the back of the iTV unit there is a small gap of about an inch that has the dock connector inside. This is to ensure the iPod is connected securely. Browse files using iTV."
This would be an incredible design flaw. Why would someone hook up their iTV and have to move the thing to plug an iPod in. Not to mention, all the cables plug into the back.
When will digg have the option to bury an article because it's completely idiotic. OK, this is lame doesn't cover it. - Bandito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Interesting, but why would Steve comment on a Linksys/Cisco product?
- salinemist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not really, the hip new thing to do is to hire an iLlegal who follows you around to take your calls and hum your favorite tunes.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe Apple will have bluetooth on the ipod that syncs up to your cellphone?
That way, you can listen to music on your ipod and take calls all from the same set of headphones. (A new accessory, of course.) They wouldn't have to goof around with setting up a cell company, buying bandwidth from another carrier, making different versions for each provider, etc. The ipod would become the ultimate cellphone accessory.
Wouldn't this make the most sense? - nevermind13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0maybe this guy should give the keynote now. otherwise wed have to wait for it.
after all, blogs are 100% accurate.
[sarcasm] - Kloser331, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1He ate all my cookies! And the tooth fairy came the same night!
- cybermort, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3if you believe this is real, you were probably one of those who left cookies out for Santa on sunday night. right?
- NoTreason4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
This is obviously somebodies made up list of what they think Steve will talk about. No internal email would be phrased like that or have that emphasis. - salinemist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Perhaps because the iPhone is:
a) a really bad idea, and Apple has realized this.
b) a myth made up by bloggers who need a real job.
c) so incredibly awesome that Jobs has had everyone involved in the project killed and he's taking over development solo to insure secrecy. - Sprules04, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Screw the damn iPhone! The other stuff on that list is far more interesting and exciting anyway. I have to wonder though if that stuff is actually true or not. If it is then great, if not then Macworld will be great anyway. ;)
- hotdamn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I can't help it, this sounds 100% legit.
black cherry reminds me of goldfrapp :) - dkontrec, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Agreed :P
- benadamson, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Ick, I'm hoping the iTV comes out before late March. They announced it months ago for crying out loud!
Black Cherry ..... no comment. The newest Leopard screenshots are fugly.
Here's to hoping this list is complete BS - kallgaier, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Wow, if this is a real e-mail, this is huge! To know what Steve will say, especially with the information apparently divulged here, is a big deal. I almost wonder if we should buy it. Doesn't it feel wrong to know?
- IQ70, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Guess there is no real iPhone afterall.
Black Cherry theme is almost like agreeing that the dark Vista theme is the new look.
Screentouch ipod = smearing galore.
Maybe some might applaud the keynote as ground breaking, but it seems very very luke warm at best right now.
What is Digg?
