- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here's Apple's official report on the issue: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300832
- perre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not an issue with specific computers, an issue with OS X generally. This issue of dropped audio in mpgs, movs and flash comes up occasionally if you manipulate video content often. That setting flips to 96000.0 Hz. In the link posted by pathdaemon, above, Apple blames it on "third-party audio applications". It would be preferable that Apple lock that setting to 41000.0 Hz, preventing Applications from modifying it and only allow a user to change it...
- fleetskeet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I had this problem on my G4 and Core Duo mini, but google sent me this same fix after I complained about their videos having no audio.
- jflint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Seeing the comments by Whitlock and BridgetDS, I also have VLC installed on my MacBookPro.
- whitlock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oddly, that is the same fix when I had no sound with Flash 8 after installing VLC on my G4 mini.
- BridgetDS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yay! I thought I was the only one who had this problem (it started for me when I upgraded VLC).
