- awhiteflame, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Yep. I intend on going to the Providence, RI opening.
It's been delayed 3 years, it better be good. - gharding, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10AFAIK, the 5th Ave. store is the only underground Apple store out there, so I'm thinking the glass cube is there for a bit of a facade. Are they supposed to put a big Apple sign at the top of a stairwell or something? I gotta say, I love the 5th Ave. store. Open all night and only a few blocks away from home!
- tsaxer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6At least you have one nearby. Here in Alabama our closest one is in ATL, or maybe Memphis. Be happy you can at least get your computer serviced without going through third parties (I hate to send mine off as a first course of action).
- kevnaca, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I know. The one in Arden Fair you're talking about is clean and functional but it started to show it's age. It's probably the lack of space but there should be some glass acents, not necessarily the glass staircase. I love the Apple Store in SF (stockton st.) though.
- maukdaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3heh I wondered why the Columbia location's opening has been delayed. It was originally scheduled to open early August, then mysteriously changed to "fall". This explains it!
I shall check it out this weekend!
PS The Apple store is in the Columbia Mall, 2nd floor near Macy's if anyone is interested. - Stecchino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've been looking forward to the Omaha store opening for a while. My plan of attack is to win a 24" iMac. If that doesn't work, I'll probably just buy one. :)
- vaticdart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's like being inside a Blue & White G3 tower! But will the controller chips be bad?
- peterh1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I noticed there's also an Apple store popping up near me in Southampton (sunny england) which surprised me. I wonder if they will adopt this design?
- Takuro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't think they're going to copy the "glass cube" look. I think they were referring to the way it's designed from the inside. Either way, it's going to be interesting.
The Apple Store in my local mall is way too small to redesign. They make use of every inch of space they have. I'm sort of hoping a few more stores spring up in the NY area. - swati86, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The older retail stores should at least have a separate Creative bar from the geniuses.
The Apple store at The Grove, LA, is set in the most gorgeous mall. Moreover, you get to run into Heath Ledger and Noah Wyle, and sadly, Paris Hilton. - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3We need more Canadian locations!... and there are other provinces besides Ontario >_
- kevnaca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I don't really care for the cold color of bondi. i thought Apple Stores are supposed to be warm and inviting.
- se1zure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1DAMNIT!!!! i live by the one in omaha, but thats the one that isn't getting the re-design!!!!
Oh well, at least i can get a free t-shirt. - jjk5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll be going to the Providence store too, it's right down the street. The only thing that sucks is that the jewelry store it's replacing wasn't very big. It's gonna be cramped in there on Saturday.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4My nearest store (Sacramento, CA) looks so outdates compared to all these new ones.
- omaryak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You're lucky to be able to afford to live in New York.
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The one I go to (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) it pretty cool.
- aaryn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Do it, just don't comment anymore
- xoineg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I agree the 5th avenue store is beutiful, near the subway, and 24/7!!!!! nothing like buying an ipod at 3am .....
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4I think it's funny how all of us already have negative diggs. People are stupid.
- YesWoo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Surprising really, Ars isn't really your run of the mill site and should have the infrastructure to handle large amounts of traffic, even the digg effect.
Edit: It's back up now. Burry this. - nosoup4u, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0nevermind :(
- Pasqualz, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1I shop Walmart and Best Buy. Apple stores are too cool for me.
- nosoup4u, on 10/12/2007, -10/+0boom! and it is down.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -15/+2Once Steve Jobs pays Digg to disguise advertisements as if they were technology news, I've decided to bury all Apple histories marking them as SPAM.
I recommend everyone who has a minimum of common sense to do the same.

What is Digg?
