http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/102/C6416/ - antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So if you pass gas, is that the woofer?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Couldn't they just use Bluetooth; or better yet, develop a more secure, short-range wifi protocol?
- flex411, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It puts the lotion on.
- DrSquanto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Remember "bone conduction"?
- spiderland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why can't people just post the direct link? Jeez.
- aptiva, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0okay... uses human skin to transmit. Now let's assume this highly "unlikely" scenario: I put it in my pocket. Then what?
...bs? - hadem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't see this becoming mainstream. To many people would not want the hassle of having to go somewhere to have a chip implanted in their arm before being able to use the iPod. In theory, it is kind of cool, but I doubt many people will want to have a chip in their arm.
- snuff925, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll wait for the ocular implant so I can use my iPod video with no screen.
- MasterDwarf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*schwarzenegger* it's not a tuma!
- lightningrod220, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not just radio waves, but other imformation can be transmitted as well.... including having a chip with your personal information implanted in your forearm. There are going to be a lot of people who won't like this idea.
- jomom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Apparently the prototype was demonstrated without humans"
Then how do they know it works? are you going to ask the rat if he hears the newest usher song emulating from his head? - nowwashyourhand, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0everyone at my office are still laughing about microsoft's illustration of a modern man
- jer4202, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0we are slowly turning into cyborgs!
- shakin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too bad we don't have some kind of "radio waves" with which we could transmit this sort of data instead of requiring everybody to implant a chip into their forearm.
Oh well... an implant it is! - orangetiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0is this like the hoax about transfering files by using your body? insert finger into socket. yeah just trust us.
- erkokite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"You're all a bunch of undergrad meatsacks!"
I'm gonna use that one more often... - szelij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with Aptiva...what happens when i put it in my pocket? I thought at first glance this didnt require any chips at all...the title is misleading.
- maverick_swl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg for Microsoft's patent doodle!!
haha, I would do this if I was usable with more than just my ipod.... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How about doing it without the use of a chip? Lame.
- G33KFR33K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Neat
- mcbesq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And everyone knows that Korea is so trustworthy when it comes to experimental science. Look at the great leaps its made with human cloning... oh wait, that was a hoax. My bad.
No digg for the sheer redunkulous nature of the idea. - DoTheFandango, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Main Entry: sat·ire
Pronunciation: 'sa-"tIr
Function: noun
1 : a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn
2 : trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly - Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WTH does this have to do with an iPod Nano? And how would a chip in your arm impart activity in the auditory nerves?? If it could, wouldn't this be a cure for the deaf and a lot simpler than a cohclear implant? Nothing about this makes sense. Digg is going to hell.
- Bohab45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I doubt this would be as good as headphones for drowning out the ***** I'm forced to surround byself with on a day-to-day basis.
- steve693, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This opens up a whole new potential for slacking off during school/work.
- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So basically to use this thing you have to walk around looking like you're constantly taking your pulse?
No thanks, I'll stick with my trusty Creative products that don't require you to sign a waiver to buy. - Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@afrazkhan: Because apparently 500+ people digg this. Go figure.
- zoomie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0resistance is futile...you will be assimilated
- aguita, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You mean that 500+ people don't pay attention to anything.. Just see a cool title and click on the digg button.
- afrazkhan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0-- Off Topic Warning --
rusty_g inspired me. How about everytime you see a story that doesn't link directly (instead linking to the poster's blog say), you rate it as lame, and submit another story with the direct link yourself? If it catches on, people may be less inclined to link to their blogs when there's no need for it (just to get hits). - ineedunderscore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so the skin embedded signal amplifier contains the A/D converter? or is the sig analog from point of skin touch? either way there'd be less attenuation with a user who eats more potassium, sodium, etc. It would be funny If the company were to market dietary supplements to enhance the listening experience.
- tablatronix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Didnt IBM do this at some java conference with foot pedals and virtual buisiness cards ?
Or that java ring ?
of course audio is alot of data, hence the implant but then why would you still need to touch it. - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How primitive!
Why not just recognize the brain as the ultimate harddrive, and upload the music files directly into memory?
In fact, why not just implant the idea that you already heard those songs enough times?
Total Re-crap!
Fsck Arnold!
- void, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its the mark of the beast!!
- graywolf323, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can live with the cord until a better way is found than this
no digg - symmet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lame title. Digg = 0.
- fourfive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Any data running through skin is weird enough, It'll problably lose the quality.
- thehomeskillet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"Without the white headphones, how will anyone know you're listening to an iPod?"
- too true (***** ipods) - JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Speculative. No digg.
- rolosworld, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0smells like cancer...

- splitsixty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"fatman in little coat, fatman in little coat!"
