*head explodes* - coolchu001, on 07/30/2008, -8/+155That is NOT the new nano...
- znicket, on 07/30/2008, -4/+55I think we won't see the scroll wheel in future generations. Touch is where it's at.
- specialbuddy1, on 07/30/2008, -5/+46I thought the third generation ipod should have looked like this. I bet this is a fake. I just don't see apple going in this direction.
- scoresman, on 07/30/2008, -2/+36My hobbies, ping pong, sunbathe, a disco dance, and on weekends travel to capital city and i watch ladies make a toilet
- Andrewe1, on 07/30/2008, -2/+34Thank god its an artist rendition, it looks like one of those cheap "mp4" Chinese mp3 players...
- akatsuki, on 07/30/2008, -4/+35It should just be a smaller Touch.
- CraigB12, on 07/30/2008, -1/+30I bought the first gen iPod nano, and it looks exactly like this except the screen on this one is slightly taller.
More like Apple heeding the complaints that people hate short fat MP3 players like the 3 gen (?) iPod nano.
[head doesn't explode] - joegibes, on 07/30/2008, -3/+29That is the new nano...
NOT - kidjay, on 07/30/2008, -11/+33the zune...which...looks like a first generation nano.
go gizmodo. ? - AZRoboto, on 07/30/2008, -2/+23Vista came out before Leopard...
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -0/+21I thought the Chinese were putting out mp9 players? They are always so ahead of the curve. . .
- tschau, on 07/30/2008, -0/+19Well it's obviously not a real photograph.. it says "artists rendition" back there.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -3/+20Zune? It looks more like a slightly altered 1st gen Nano.
- HolyChimp, on 07/30/2008, -3/+20Most people that buy iPods (including myself) aren't audiophiles. As long as the noise going in their ears sounds roughly like the CD then they're happy. We're the same people that are quite happy with the quality you get if you buy a song on iTunes, or even buy a song on iTunes, burn it to CD and rerip it at 128kbps MP3.
Audiophiles don't buy iPods, just like audiophiles don't buy the other crappy MP3 players on the market. They buy some beasty 120GB thing for a bajillion dollars and then fill it with half a CD of FLAC (obvious exagerations included for effect). - feliks2, on 07/31/2008, -1/+17Buttons is where its at, I dont want to be looking at my ***** when im using it.
- khsheehan, on 07/30/2008, -4/+20Seriously, enough with the "this copied that" *****. It really does not matter at all. ZOMG iPhone copied skype cuz you can call people! (Although this is more obvious because it's visual).
- woulok, on 07/30/2008, -7/+22DO NOT WANT
- whatthefu, on 07/30/2008, -1/+14The second they invent a smudgeless screen I'll be all over that *****.
- h3llscaper, on 07/30/2008, -5/+17Oh wow, you did not just say "the *first* mp3 player".
hahahahahaha - lysdexic, on 07/30/2008, -10/+21Dude, come on. It's small enough to fit in your pocket. It has controls to allow you to navigate and play music and videos. And the irrefutable piece of evidence is that Microsoft released it after the iPod came out. How could it be anything BUT a rip off of an Apple product? I mean, they've invented everything. No one could possibly have an idea without Apple engineers having thought of it first, and the technology world would be awash in confusion without the genius of their guidance.
(I can't help wondering how fast this comment will be buried...) - d1sturbdepeace, on 07/30/2008, -0/+10Try keeping your meat out of your hands ;)
- bman85, on 07/30/2008, -0/+9My design teachers always told me the key to good design is stealing the good ideas and leaving the bad...nothing is 100% original.
- MacHarborGuy, on 07/30/2008, -2/+11i'm a mac user and even I have to bury that very inaccurate statement.
- ShinyDemon, on 07/30/2008, -17/+25How the hell is the Zune a copy of an Apple product? No really, please explain in detail.
*head explodes* - digitaldivinci, on 07/30/2008, -0/+8No, Palm did that.
- cozza, on 07/30/2008, -1/+9Continual amazement at Digg and Internet in general user population inability to comprehend sarcasm.
*head explodes* - feureau, on 07/30/2008, -1/+9Another Gizmodo Spam.
1. Taken from another site
2. repost it
3. submit to dig......
4. ????
5. PROFITS!
Dude, proper formatting. - MrM1yagi, on 07/30/2008, -3/+11I do not see how this is copying the Zune when the iPod mini and 1st/2nd gen Nano already looked like that...
- GeneralFailure0, on 07/31/2008, -0/+8Tactile response is definitely nice to have, and I hope to continue seeing iPods which allow this in the future. It's not that I don't like the iPod Touch, but the scroll wheel allows for a slick easy to use interface that doesn't involve me smudging the screen and getting my fingers in the way.
- BananaChips, on 07/30/2008, -6/+13breaking - apple copyrights the 'rectangle'
in other news, a record spike in copyright infringement.. - 37prime, on 07/30/2008, -0/+7Another Gizmodo Spam. Taken from another site, repost it, submit to dig...... PROFITS!
- H0ll0w, on 07/30/2008, -4/+10It is still too small for my meaty hands. :(
- RG13, on 07/30/2008, -1/+7Yeah when they came out with the "fat" nano, I was really disappointed. I thought it would have made so much more sense to make the screen long vertically. I got the new mini zune when it came out and I think it's great. It makes so much more sense.
- KillerKellerjr, on 07/30/2008, -1/+7I thought iPod Nano was suppose to be a small iPod but it keeps getting bigger and fatter. This has to be a fake!!!
- abtarhar, on 07/30/2008, -1/+7Who said that its going to look like the picture? Maybe it's touch-screen, maybe it only comes in black. The picture is just an artist's rendition of how he imagines it to look.
- MacParrot, on 07/31/2008, -0/+5Alrighty...looking...looking...
Wow I totally get how it looks like an original Mac - KJSatz, on 07/31/2008, -1/+6Well actually it's more like a slightly altered 2nd gen Nano.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5Rumors, speculations... I'm starting to get sick of this. Wait and see
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -2/+7I still like my second gen shuffle, that ***** is super small and it can take a hit like nothing else. How many people are actually watching long videos on these small ass screens?
- digitaldivinci, on 07/30/2008, -1/+6The wheel does take up a good amount of real estate. If they went down to touch controls, they could keep a similar size to what they have now, no matter how much I'd rather see the taller versions come back.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5i can handle curses thanks
- MarshalBanana, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5yeah ipods should look less like ipods.
- streetblader, on 07/30/2008, -0/+4There have been many many other companies to "revolutionize" the "hand-held" industry. Apple has just re-revolutionized the industry to the masses, and updated it to a more modern and efficient form.
- Wilsontristan, on 07/30/2008, -1/+5And we're all very proud of you specialbuddy.
Anyway, I cant see Apple keeping the scroll wheel on this generation Nanos. It's a better bet that they are heading down the multi-touch road with the new ones. That's IMO of course. - inactive, on 07/30/2008, -4/+8That's a fake photo, this one's legit:
http://i33.tinypic.com/ftojnb.png - pigducksheep, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4aww cmon i just got a new nano!
- FireSlash, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4Maybe they should rename it to iPod Oprah...
- Rage67, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4agreed
- Asim0, on 07/30/2008, -1/+5all i want is a 32gb iphone that's all.
