- revjustin2, on 10/10/2007, -2/+35The comments on the original post show a lot of disappointment with this device, which doesn't surprise me since Apple would pretty much have to invent a iPod that turned water into for some to be happy. Personally, this is the first iPod product I have been tempted to get. The whole iPhone-without-the-phone-thing is what I like. The ability to access the internet on the go via a sweet touch screen interface is really what I like about this device. I also don't give a red rat's ass about the storage. 8GB is huge for my purposes.

According to iTunes, I have 3.5 days worth of music. If I where to buy the rest of the music I like, or even steal it, I might be able to double my library.
People here are claiming to have 30 GB + worth of music. By my estimations that would be around 7512 songs or 21 days worth of music.
My question is, do you actually like that many songs? Do you actually listen to that much music? Out of the small amount of music that I have, I only listen to maybe 20% of it on a regular basis. The rest is songs that I kind of like, songs I downloaded on Tuesday from iTunes and the music off of albums that I copied onto my computer but only ever really listened to the one or two tracks of. I just can not fathom having 21 days worth of music that not only I like, but would want to carry around with me.

The next gen should have larger capacity, SD slot, bluetooth, and a lower price tag. That would be my ideal ipod.

Then it's like an iPhone with spotty coverage but a lot better where there is coverage...

- jivemasta, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14I dont care that it's flash, it's still 16GB. It could be quantum storage the size of a speck of dust for all I care, it's still 16GB. My Music collection is just under 16GB, and I'm not a huge music freak like other people. That means, I would have to hold a tribunal every time a new album came out to decide what I can delete to make room. And forget videos, podcasts and movies. If it was the standard 30GB, it would probably make me switch from my Zune, but 16GB isn't gonna cut it.
