- jonzornow, on 03/31/2009, -0/+265The irony that I found this on Digg is not escaping me... Once I turn it on, I'll just be wondering what other useful productivity tools I'm missing. It's a vicious cycle.
- frontaxle, on 03/31/2009, -0/+181Websites are time vampires
- neelshiv, on 03/31/2009, -1/+149This could be used to help....my friend.... masturbate less frequently.
- pardonator, on 03/31/2009, -1/+142I'd have to add digg.com, I check it so often :(
- tidu, on 03/31/2009, -0/+77DAMN YOU DRAGGING SQUARES ON THE DESKTOP!
- borez, on 03/31/2009, -0/+77Anti-social media app.
- RudeTurnip, on 03/31/2009, -4/+68This will kill Digg. btw, is there a Windows version?
- smackydoodle, on 03/31/2009, -0/+49If you had that much control, you wouldn't need the app.
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -2/+44DAMN YOU, WIFI!
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -0/+35DAMN YOU SOLITARE!
- thedivinelyevil, on 03/31/2009, -0/+30This is perfect. I have an exam in three days and I've been procrastinating. Three days is enough time if you actually attended class during the semester, but right now I need all the time I can get and yet I spend it being distracted online!
and yep... digg will be on the block list! bye! - opzero, on 03/31/2009, -0/+26I would just turn it off to do my procrastination routine...I have no self control.
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -1/+25I was going to download it, but then I got distracted.
- booyahbitch, on 03/31/2009, -1/+24You mean I will have to try to fill an 8 hour day with actual work if I install this?!? S C R E W T H A T ! ! !
- BxBoy, on 03/31/2009, -2/+22Or just unplug your ethernet cable.
- Venste, on 03/31/2009, -0/+19Wish I had this in college.
- thedivinelyevil, on 03/31/2009, -0/+17damn you guys! couldn't resist seeing if people had replied!
- merreborn, on 03/31/2009, -3/+19You come here for useful productivity tools?
Well, there's your problem. - DMCer, on 03/31/2009, -0/+15Which would be included in the category "websites."
- elnerdo, on 03/31/2009, -0/+14I'd end up procrastinating by spending my time trying to figure out how the program works, then.
- smedrick, on 03/31/2009, -0/+13I bet you're the life of the party.
- baldick, on 03/31/2009, -0/+13I force quit the app..but it is still in effect. That means it's evoking a process that's not killed by forcequiting the main PID/app. Good luck finding it......
- Kruse, on 03/31/2009, -0/+13This isn't for the iPhone, genius.
- tonyzahn, on 03/31/2009, -0/+13I think the idea is that people pop up these time wasters (email, web sites, whatever) without even thinking about it. I know that I tend to fire up a tab for Digg or whatever while I'm working on the company web app.
This program is just a reminder that you're supposed to be working. Yes, you can quit it and go back to goofing of, this is more a slap on the wrist to keep you in line than an actual barrier to slacking. - mytealjacket, on 03/31/2009, -0/+12digg is the main reason I need that program!
- 2of8, on 03/31/2009, -0/+12So clearly you didn't turn the program on for long enough?
- dullnation, on 03/31/2009, -4/+15What stops you from simply ending task to this application anyways?....
- NinjaMunky, on 03/31/2009, -0/+10Hah, good luck mate. You know you'll be back early.
- Weebs86, on 03/31/2009, -0/+10If I had this app previously, I wouldn't have learned about this app, hmmmm...
- khabba, on 03/31/2009, -0/+9I use leechblocker for Firefox. Great plug-in. It's a lifesaver. You can set times for when you don't want to access certain sites and it's foolproof.
Browsing to Digg.com has become an automatic thing with me. I don't even know that I'm doing it till I see the "Blocked site" logo. Actually it freeks me out.
There is also Simpleology for IE. - sea206town, on 03/31/2009, -0/+9Big mistake testing it out on digg, I was going through withdrawals for the last 3 minuets
- bermikoy, on 03/31/2009, -1/+10That's why it's called Self Control. Cause people don't have it; and you have to get it.
- XxtraLarGe, on 03/31/2009, -1/+10I feel like this guy made this just for me. Right now, I drive in to work an hour early just so I can work on my iPhone programming because don't have any distractions like I do at home, but then I end up jumping on Digg or something like that. I need to get this and a white noise track for iTunes so I can just focus on programming @ home.
- BMcClure937, on 03/31/2009, -0/+9because you don't want any old user blocking all of the websites on a machine without prompting for a password...
- benburned, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8DAMN YOU 3D FLOWERBOX!
- BrandonShea, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8A marvelous revelation!
- CoD4, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8you take my self, you take my self control!
- XxtraLarGe, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8Some times a small impediment is just enough.
- ikeeel4money, on 03/31/2009, -1/+9DAMN YOU, HOTSPOTS!!
- SocialTrending, on 03/31/2009, -1/+9Darn you iPhone!!
- kobescoresagain, on 03/31/2009, -3/+11Doesn't sound like self control if you can uninstall it.....
- tidu, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8the truth hurts :(
- adale1, on 04/01/2009, -0/+8Tell....your friend, that.....my friend,agrees.
- PvtJenkins, on 03/31/2009, -0/+7You can't! Even restarting your computer doesn't stop the timer.
- geodebug, on 03/31/2009, -0/+7Sorry, still need my VPN to do real work :-(
- Flipperbw, on 03/31/2009, -10/+17Just use windows for a while - it'll lock up soon enough.
Har har. - shaunchapman, on 03/31/2009, -0/+6Try quitting and let me know what happens. The program doesn't stop blocking when you quit or restart your computer. Also, I'm looking into how to get this off of here. Did anyone else add a bunch of sites to the blacklist then set 4 hours like me? ***** :(
- litolist, on 03/31/2009, -1/+7Shhhhh, don't take it so seriously.
- skinny01, on 03/31/2009, -1/+7The internet wasn't really that popular when I was in college, most people didn't even have email. I can only imagine how much you guys are missing out on (socially) by having so much web access (although it makes work much easier). For a quiet guy like me, internet access like we have now would have destroyed my social life.
For you college folks having problems dating, cut off the internet for a week and force yourself to go out and interact with people, it helps. - 2of8, on 03/31/2009, -0/+6*****, now you have to do actual work.

What is Digg?
