- Rhine23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30Fake, iPhone isn't their trademark
- kefs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+31thank you for assuring me...
- wschamps04, on 10/12/2007, -7/+33iPhone name is already taken.....
- ptcfast2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Thanks for the guy above me being assured that the guy before him assured him.
That made me even more assured. - ssttuu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16This no doubt will make the homepage
But it’s a fake...I assure you - TwilightKing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Stop mincing the english language, please. Common is the opposite of rare, not an abbreviation of come on. Jesus Christ...
- nofaith, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I call bullsh*t
- marcelo002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Ditto on the fake.
However, kudos on creating the fake. Somewhat well done. Someone should create a "create your own apple fake" photoshop tutorial.
Few points on the "photograph":
-I would say there's to much reflection going on, it should probably fade out earlier.
-On the bottom right corner, there's what I would say is the edge of the computer screen that the guy took the picture from. It's definitely an edge at least, which would make the proportions of the "banner" very odd.
-"No buttons"? Is that a selling point? Besides the fact that right below that statement are two buttons, having a phone with no tactile buttons seems like a very bad idea to me.
- Oh, and the "i" in "introducing" is not capitalized.
Only about a week left, I hope we see a lot more attempts until then, it keeps me entertained at work... - dolemite5005, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Fake. But lets digg it anyways just because Apple is in the name!
- Hensworth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Nice fake
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11Maybe this is the version for Singapore and Australia? Or maayyyybe it's faaaake.... hmmm....
- SpikeX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Dugg down as inaccurate. Until I hear straight from Apple or a bit more reliable of a source than Flickr, I won't believe any of this "iPhone" crap, which is, I doubt, even it's name.
- arjayl642, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I hope you meant "come on". Are people this lazy?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Do you seriously think Apple would release a phone with a giant click SQUARE?
How do you dial?
Inaccurate mockup. - kasted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2your assurance failed
- tominabox1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Gotta be fake for that reason...nice mockup tho...
- A-money, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2something strikes me as very apple about the add, but something just isn't quite right.
plus it won't be called the iPhone so make what you want about it - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how about iFone? is that taken?
- Ricapar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is a fake. All someone did was take a picture of a mockup (that has been posted on digg, several times too), skew it and blur the image.
- Jjcd7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thanks!
- alwaysmc2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6"Many abilities, no buttons"
Who says buttons are bad? What is Apple teaching computer users?! - shiftt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Apple owns the rights to "MobileMe"
maybe that'll be the name of their PDA "iPhone" model - ctiptonk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not bad, however I think if this were real, Apple would have sicked their lawyers on them already.
- andrewry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm, I'm thinking of starting a contest to see who can make the best "iPhone" .or whatever they will call it, mockup and give a prize to the best. :)
Somewhat a waste of money though. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet! Original images were posted on amobileme.com
http://www.amobileme.com/another-leaked-apple-iphone-image-showing-more-details-21122.php
http://www.amobileme.com/is-the-name-apple-iphone-still-alive-19117.php - chewy5000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think ive seen it before
- ttfadia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice, add a motion blur and call it a "photograph".
- Pulp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't even say "nice fake" since I saw this almost two weeks ago.
- AJRiddle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1definitely fake. First of all, its not going to be named iPhone. Secondly, that is a horrible design, think about talking on it, it would be very uncomfortable.
- TH3W1R3D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Uh... Neat.
- IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Okay, we know it's fake, thanks for the info, cap' obvious. It's still a nice "prototype"/"mock-up"/"fake".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That just looks like a terrible design. Even for an Apple product.
- dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That ***** is fake its a mockup of what people want it to be like. No proof!
- johnpaul191, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they got the exif data to PROVE it was taken today with a Nokia N70-1.
http://flickr.com/photo_exif.gne?id=338703808&context=pool-35034346867@N01
take that non-believers! it was taken today of a banner being prepared for MacWorld!
ok, back to reality.... Apple really does have a good wrap on their promotion stuff. i have never seen a leaked photo of a banner except when they are already up in the hall and something slips. all the sneak shots of boxes have been fakes. - kallgaier, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3There are others out there that also have "iPhone" trademarked, so Apple actually can use the name, if they wanted.
- xx0xx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how the hell did this make front page? i thought there were editors watching stuff finally and keeping bs like this out.
- SadPanda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would digg this for the quality of photoshop, but covering your tracks with a blurry overlay is rather sloppy...
(It was announced that apple would use the iMobile name for their upcoming product because it "more accuratly describes its function" - xx0xx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what he said^
- dhunwick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Um FAKE, also that TAG line is the dumbest ***** I have heard in a while, Apple would come up with something much more clever.
- RomeyRome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As opposed to the SLVR?
- mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well I'm not quite convinced...
- ioannusdeverani, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would thank you for assuring me, but isn't this assurance thing getting a tad bit old? :)
- sixty6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Also, if you look at the reflection of the back side of the supposed iPhone pictures, it doesn't look like it says 'iPhone' reversed at all...It actually looks like it says something else entirely..
- kingjokin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Die in a fire? TWATBURGER? I completly agree
- fugazi48, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Apple should make a current version of the Apple Newton with a phone embedded in it too. Look up the Newton, that was long ago after Jobs left Apple from 1993-1998.
- jole, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He did a good job on the exif data. He didn't make the image larger that the supposed camera could take, but the small flaw is that the date was wrong! It claims to have been taken on the 31, but it was uploaded on the 30th. Oops!
- spaghetticode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1old
- tdskate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Fake. I can't imagine how that touchpad would be userfriendly. It's totally NOT an Apple design.
- willij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1fake!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no it doesn't - it looks like it says iphone reflected....
fake as ***** anyway though -
