- jads, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I'm in the same boat as Quix - haven't had any real problems with my MacBook. However, it's only the people who have a bad experience that will bring it to light and complain. There's been a fair bit of press recently about Macs but how many satisfied customers have talked about their experiences? None, because it isn't news. People with no problems don't see a reason to talk it. Those who have had a problem will want others to know. It's a shame, but that's how the world works.
- Quix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3My MacBook has been flawless, as was the iBook I owned for 5 years before it. Not to say Apple doesn't pump out a few lemons now and then (like any manufacturer), but my experience (thus far) has been good. Buying any electronic gizmo is like rolling the dice, and statistically Apple gives you the same odds of success as its major competitors (per Consumer Reports).
If you think going to a PC laptop will somehow insulate you from manufacturing and design issues, you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. My old Compaq (employer-issued) was a real dud. My new Compaq is better, although ugly and clunky. Roll the dice. I'd choose my MacBook over any PC laptop I've ever used, period. - tobias, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hoppas det ordnar sig!

- gheijmer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Must say that I have been blessed. I have had no problems with either my old PB 12" or my MBP 17". That said I still think that Apple really need to get their support working better. The current Apple Care is an expensive joke and you really need a local retailer to recieve good service.
