noticing a trend here? - suprxtragrav, on 12/09/2008, -19/+84no one cares that you can list your fake specs online.
- matman, on 10/10/2007, -8/+70Try contacting Michael Dell about a problem and ask for free stuff and all you'll get from the16 year old female indian on the line, is the statement 'Computer says 'NO'!
- inactive, on 10/16/2007, -2/+60"sucker"
- shortarabguy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+58"He also left me his direct contact phone number if I needed it. It was a phone number without any extensions available; that’s direct."
Lol, I just had an image of Forest Gump saying that and looking as retarded as that line sounds. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -16/+72Its better than Msft giving out free lollipops.
- pu-z, on 10/10/2007, -7/+60It's not that unusual for Apple to hand out free extras when they ***** up. It happened to me when I bought a keyboard from them. The first one had a slanted space button, making it difficult to type with. I called, they sent a new one along with a return box. The new one had American keyboard, not Norwegian and made it damn near impossible to use in daily life. New call, new UPS guy on the door with another keyboard. This time, they gave me the old model instead of the new one. I called, complained, the lady at the end was disappointed at the service I had gotten.
So I said: "How about a compensation"
She asked "What kind of compensation?"
"Well, I DO need a new mouse"
"OK, let me talk to my boss" ... two minutes passed "OK, we'll send you a free Bluetooth mouse as compensation for the trouble, is that OK?"
"Yes, it is".
I always liked the old keyboard better anyways. :) - aryayush, on 10/10/2007, -2/+54sjobs@apple.com
- zweben, on 10/10/2007, -3/+52Man then emails Jobs and gets a free Mac.
(I wish) - Lux7, on 10/16/2007, -2/+48"In an act of what I can only explain as sheer geekiness I stumbled out the sentence, 'Well, I’ve always wanted an iPhone :)' I chuckled."
This guy is amazing, he can send a smiley face through a phone! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -54/+100Go publicly masturbate elsewhere. Nobody here give a flying ***** about what your system has!
- djh816, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40i had to send in my refurb macbook pro 5 times. they tried to bribe me with an ipod but i picked a brand new mbp instead.
- ZenMojo, on 10/10/2007, -4/+43More like, man emails Jobs and gets a free 10 dollar gift certificate toward iPod accessories.
- tdous, on 10/10/2007, -10/+41I bought a melon the other day. I got it home, vowing to eat that melon bastard. Sadly, on cutting it open, I discovered it was bad on the inside. All rotten and mushy in a way this particular type of melon should not be. Obviously I had Steve Jobs email address and my hands hovered over my new ergonomic iMac keyboard for a minute before I resolved to return the melon myself and not bother poor Steve.
Anyway, to cut a long story medium-length, I returned that frigging melon once, received another bad one, and a second time to no further success? This was the last straw.
"Dear Steve, as you know, I have your email address from that time your flew over my town throwing business cards out of a helicopter..." I began, and continued to explain my harrowing story. Within 2 hours - seriously, 2 hours - I received a reply. Attached to the email was a bag of 20 fresh melons picked straight from the vine or whatever by Steve himself. I cut into the largest and, to my surprise, found 3 working iPod Think2Touch development models - you know, the ones you control with your mind (many people are concerned about how the typical Apple user with manage this feat but so far I've had no problems) - how cool is that?!
Anyway, the close this down, since then I have proposed marriage and, despite being rejected by Steve, we do meet up every day after he's finished with all the other Apple customers.
I love him.
Please ignore the whole phone thing that's been going on recently.
Hey! Hey look over here! Look at that over there! - vertinox, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33Actually, Microsoft once sent me a complimentary copy of Windows ME when they had shipping problems with a game I bought from them back in 2000.
Talk about adding insult to injury.
To be fair, I still have the unopened box of WinME to show people as a conversation piece. - budmademeweiser, on 10/16/2007, -6/+34I believe that email address is steve.jobs@iwillgiveyouwhateveryouwantifyoucomplainenough.com
- Cobainy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+27You must have pretty boring friends...
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -2/+27MSFT did send us some gigantic Vista lollipops around launch time, was pretty cool :-)
- UberC, on 10/10/2007, -7/+32But it's his imac that'd broken..
- Firehed, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29He got dugg up 65 times. Somebody here clearly cares.
- Scorps111, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23Man emails Jobs and revives a free apple logo sticker
- Aggaman, on 10/10/2007, -3/+26This is bollocks. I've been an Apple customer for years. They are pretty good at backing up their products. I've had an iMac fail and be immediately replaced. I guess it would be nice if there were never any problems with tech products, but failing that, the best we can expect is for the company (whoever it is) to stand behind what they sell. In my experience, Apple does. So does Microsoft with the Xbox 360. Companies should be saluted for such behaviour, not vilified.
- insomniac8400, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23You think that s.jobs is steves work address? That's a joke right? He has to have a private one that he uses for work, while the public name one is used by his secretary.
- tdous, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23As he should. Any company that needs the TOP person to sort out 1 customer's problem is ***** at some stage in the chain.
- shortarabguy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23On an unrelated note, all ten-dollar gift certificates seem to be fake and are not accepted on the Apple store.
- HerbSolo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23Yeah - but that's only fair, that guy tried to install third party apps on it. ;)
- jo3design, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20do you really think Apple only spends a few thousand dollars on a 30-second spot? No wonder your logic is so faulty...
- mushoo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20Are you implying that neurospot's post is the result of testis envy?
If I couldn't ejaculate I would be just as mad as him at Steve Job's ability to cum out iPods. - rebrane, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17I called Toshiba Direct with a problem and, after escalating to a manager, he ended up threatening me and promising that I would not be helped. Thx!
- retawd, on 10/10/2007, -20/+36Wait. This makes no sense... According to the Apple cult members I've encountered, it is physically impossible for a Mac to ever have a problem under any circumstances. They never crash, they only get more powerful with age and I'm pretty sure they keep the produce in your refrigerator crisp a little longer. A few have even told me they don't run on *nix which makes me feel better because *nix is old fashioned anyway.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18C'mon guys, give zybch a break. You know he has...issues. Soon, school will be back in session for him and he'll be off on the short bus
- skunkman62, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16how about, Man has iMac replaced three times, emails Steve Jobs and receives an imac that works.
- mushoo, on 10/10/2007, -10/+24I'm no apple fan-boy but they do provide great costumer service, at least in my experience.
I bought a used 2g iPod from smalldog.com back in 2002 . I never upgraded because the thing wouldn't die and I haven't liked any of the click-wheel-button combinations on the newer models. Sadly the fire-wire port eventually worn out from all plugging and unplugging over the last five years, and would no longer sync up with my PC. Besides that it still worked remarkably well. I figured I would just continue using it until the urge to load new music into it became so great that I would just give in and buy one of the newer models.
A month later I find myself at the Apple store playing around with the newer models. Just for kicks, I decide to see how much Apple would charge me to fix the fire-wire port on the broken one. The first "genius" tells me the only option is just to hand it in to them for a 25% discount for the purchase of a new one. I reply that "I'll think about it." After playing some more with the newer models and the iPhone I decide to just though it out, thinking that it won't be long before they release a touch-screen iPod .
Not more than a week later the frustration of not being able to listen to new music on my iPod drives me back to the Apple Store. On the way to the store I find myself regretting the idea of doing away with my trusty old friend and decide to go to another Apple store to get a second opinion from another "genius." I guess I must have lucked out, because the guy who helped me out at this different store said that Apple would definitely fix it for me, at a charge of course. While logging my info into the system he came across a problem, and told me that regrettably my only two options would now be the 25% discount, or getting a 2g refurbished unit for $250. With my hope dashed once again I thanked the guy and left the store.
To my surprise the guy caught up with me as I was about to drive away. He told me that he had figured out how to get it fixed. Once back inside the store he proceeded to explain that he would log into the system that the problem with the iPod was not the fire-wire port but a battery problem instead. There would still be a charge but it would only be $70, which is what they usually charge for an out of warranty battery replacement. I thought this was a great deal and agreed. I turned in the ipod, thanked the guy and left.
A week later I get a call from the store informing me that I can come and pick up my repaired unit. To my great astonishment, once there I find that Apple didn't just fix the fire-wire port but instead replaced my old unit with a glossy scratch-free refurbished 2G unit. I happily paid the 70 bucks and left.
Hopefully this unit will last me as long as the other one did, or until I'm pleased with one of the new incarnations of it. Whenever that is I won't even think of purchasing from anyone but Apple due to their great customer service. (that is unless some other company comes out with a really kick ass portable media player that makes me want to stop using my 2G ipod) - KrazyA1pha, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14When I purchased my Apple Cinema Display a couple of years ago, the postal system lost it and ended up sending it back to Apple instead of me when they found it. One phone call to Apple later, I had a new Cinema Display shipped out and tracked along with $100 store credit.
Apple is actually very good when it comes to customer service from my experience. - MonkeyFit, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15The 30" Apple probably has much better resoultion than the Samsung (assuming it's a 52" TV being used as a monitor). Sure, a bigger size means everything is, well, bigger. But better resolution means fitting more information on the screen.
- iChainsaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12your computer runs windows...instantly lowers your stats by 75%
- actorboy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Doubly amazing in that he's always wanted something that's only been available for a couple of months.
- Dougcope, on 10/10/2007, -6/+17I've always been impressed by Apple's response to complaints. I once left some negative feedback on one of their UK stores after buying a MacBook. Later that day I got a call from someone in the Apple UK customer relations department apologizing for the issue (it took a long time to get any help in the store). I guess it would have been better not to have to complain in the first place. but it's nice to know they care a bit. More than some other large companies I could mention anyway.
- gak001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11That doesn't sound like a very substantial meal. Perhaps they should have sent around some Vista sandwiches around launchtime.
- darienphoenix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11...that is the single dumbest comment I have read this year.
- Dylson, on 10/16/2007, -0/+11If he keeps it up, eventually he will have a Mac PRO.
- fenixconnektion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Actually, when I had multiple problems with my XPS Gen 2 Laptop, I just had to endure a couple customer service phone calls. In the end, I had enough problems that they completely replaced my Pentium M, GeForce Go 6800, 1GB RAM laptop with a Core 2 Duo, GeForce Go 7950 Ultra, 2GB RAM, Vista XPS M1710 laptop.
I'd say it was quite the "free" upgrade. - KyleMistry, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10"You must have great bandwidth."
