- Eastlygod, on 10/12/2007, -4/+95I didn't know posts in Arabic (I think) highlight backwards.
Kooky. - FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+78awww, that's nice of him!
- plbland, on 10/12/2007, -3/+72I digged up, but now I've read it in English I'm utterly disappointed.

- DMBmelch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+39"Hard drives are made of hundreds of spinning discs..."
This guy has obviously never seen a hard drive! - novusopiate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I think teif was quoting the guy from the article....he just failed to use quote marks
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I don't know why xxiduggulameo is speaking Arabic here (forgive me if I'm wrong). He's used Chinese in another post and English in another.
- bluetytanium, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36Yeah, it's called freecycle.
- anjinash, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34"Hes an idiot. He could be making plenty of money rather than "feeling good.""
I think you're missing the point. A world where goodwill towards others is the rule - NOT the exception - is worth more than money.
No go ahead and digg me down and continue on being the nice little brainwashed consumer you are. - samadam, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32yeah, that was a quote.
i am glad the repairman knows his technicals. - tripm, on 10/12/2007, -6/+27I've been giving Zunes out to anyone who will take them, because I hate all of humanity.
- eLuminx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20i use to do the same thing back when i lived with my parents but with computer parts. I use to take what people didn't want or thought didn't worked, and i would just keep it until i had enough to make a new computer, of course it wasnt anything brand new but it worked for people that just wanted to search the web and get online to chat and stuff. It feels pretty good to say to someone that you have a computer for them and not expect anything in return. It was great to see their face and their expressions, and for some reason all the people that i did give computers away for always wanted to give me something in return, when all i wanted was to make their day a better one. I think freecycling is pretty cool and hopefully when i have more time in the future i will keep on doing it...
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Now that I have gained all yours trust I am Nigerian Prinse needing to transfere funds into US banck acount.
- dumpling, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18michael scott annyone?
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21I wholeheartedly agree.
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17"Hes an idiot. He could be making plenty of money rather than 'feeling good.'"
The person above me decided to give you a kind rant. I'm going to sum my rant up in a few words:
You're an insolent, greedy [insert explitive here]. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15WHERE IS MCCARTHY!?
- Troopy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Dude the world honestly needs more people like you :)
- wvdavis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I don't think he gives iPods to trolls.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14"Hard drives are made up of hundreds of spinning disks a hairs breadth away from each other and it only takes one of those disks to move or to warp and that’s it – game over"
Haha, good one :P - Eastlygod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13@bornwithrage
I knew it read right to left. But I didn't know highlighting worked differently based on the alphabet language used. Hence I wrote the comment. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I highly doubt this clown has fixed a single iPod judging by his "warped the hard disk" with a magnet and hundreds of spinning disks quotes.
He probably just keeps plugging bits together until one works, even a blind pig finds a truffle once in a while. - JohnC86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Good man, I try to do the same, I gave some one a gig of ram the other day I had lying about, it was awesome, they were chuffed.
they offered me food in return, it was super tasty. - arnar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"Hes an idiot. He could be making plenty of money rather than "feeling good.""
Thank god for idiots then. - katyggls, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://www.freecycle.org/
- Akronos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I'm inspired (Seriously). I'm going to go see what I have lying around.
- starfighter01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5it's never good enough for you huh? What have you done lately?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Man gets 500,000 emails per day from people begging him for a free iPod.
- infimprob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Go find a broken one and sent it to the Good Samaritan
- BornWithRage, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9@ eastlygod and anyone who dug him
it highlights that way because it's read right to left.... if anyone posted yiddish the same thing would occur. - workingnonstop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4++;
I saw that "Hard drives are made up of hundreds of spinning disks" comment and he instantly lost credibility in my book. - FHKE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That man kills the refurb iPods sale of Apple in the UK!
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6What a great man. ^_^
- Spo8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"We spend our whole lives working to earn money so that we can then spend it on stuff that ultimately we don’t really need – we just think we do because the media and society tells us we do."
Tyler's words coming out of my mouth. - deepdigging, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Okay, he doesn't know what the insides of hard disks look like. So what? Are you saying he can't fix iPod's without disassembling the hard drive internals? He obviously isn't a tech geek, but I think that makes it even more impressive that he is doing this.
The one thing I find a bit odd though is his ebay bashing. Ebay definitely has a huge positive impact on stuff getting reused instead of thrown out. - StarCrab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have never commented before, but reading things like this really makes my day so much better. Thank you digg for finding things like this.
- griz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nothing a little brasso and some elbow grease won't fix. I'll take one.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I nearly got one of this guy's IPods a week or two ago. He's doing a good thing. (Though donating them to sick kids or something would be even better).
- digggggggggg, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5@tech42er - Some of us were taught Simplified Chinese. Don't be a douchebag about it.
- tygut1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's cool to see somebody do something nice, with no expectation of rewards.
- saintsfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hey i have a broken ipod if i sent it to u could u fix it and send it back?
- Ashex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I used to do this for friends a few years back when i had an iPod, a lot of the errors associated with a dead iPod can be solved by simply power cycling it (no, not by pushing the menu button, physically disconnecting the battery).
- Mootabolife, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5What he's trying to say is: You are enslaved only by the languages you speak. What better way of controlling people than controlling how they speak, and therefore how they think?
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah.... yeah, no.
- PeteLP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@griz
"The iPod does not have 2 platters. Only 1. a 2 platter drive would be far too thick."
Actually there's 1 platter in a 30gb iPod, and 2 platters in an 80gb iPod. - chowderdick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1go ***** yourself and never come back to digg... deal?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hmmm. Hes still acting out of selfishness.
Basically EVERYTHING anyone does is motivated by selfishness.
He flees good, then that his pay off and worth more to him than money, its the same reason we give to charity, it makes us feel better.
At least this guy is doing something that really does make a difference to other people, unlike the regular selfishness the world runs on. -
