- freshyill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Interesting. I just picked my MacBook up Wednesday night, and one of the first things I did was install 10.4.7, so I don't have anything to compare it to. So far, everything is fine with mine, aside from the serious lack of ram, which should hopefully be remedied on Monday.
- davdav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has been happening to me too.
- md81544, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@annicalundblad: the "fix" you suggest is a procedure which locks the processor in thermal protection mode by keeping the clock cycle at 1GHz. It works for me, but it's hardly ideal - you're running at half speed.
- jaxzin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've got this issue on my Intel Mac mini. It panics every couple hours.
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Um, I'm glad I'm not the only one. This is happening on my Macbook.
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I actually just got my Macbook back from Apple. I took it to the Apple store and had no problems. It took two days to get it back and it works better than ever.
- ultima301, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Inaccurate, the issue is related to the faulty logic board of some of the earlier Macbooks, not the 10.4.7 update. Send it to AppleCare and they'll replace your logic board (Expect a delay though, I heard the logic boards are backed up in most repair places).
- wiseone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That sucks.
- MattElmore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0been happening on my macbook as well. applecare is going to repair it for me.
- marshmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0happening to me too
- annicalundblad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Start the coputer by holding the start button for several seconds until you hear a "beep". Then it works, this needs to be done every time you start your computer.
- annicalundblad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have a mac book with 10.4.7 and still I have this problem. Solution, look at my early comment.
- annicalundblad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have had the same problem with my new black mac book. It is suddenly shuts down as soon as I try to run any application. I tried a solution provided by Apple support in Sweden. If you start your mac book by holding in the start button (for several seconds) until you hear a strong "beep", after the startup, it seems to work fine. This needs to be done every time you start your computer... Good Luck!
- ericthedj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is happening to me as well. BUMMER, 2 days without my macbook!!?!?! argh!
- netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1OMG OMG The sky is falling.
Call Applecare and stop posting every single problem you have on the internet, thats what AppleCare is for.
