- ElectricSoup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm highly skeptical. One would have to look at the study in depth. But, FWIW, if PCs really are too difficult for less smart people to use, then they've been _designed_ by people who are, frankly, not too smart. But we already knew that.
- masterkenobi, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1I don't think IQ really correlates to what kind off computer you use. I've met plenty of idiots on both sides of the camp.
- miker71, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who needs a high IQ when you get the other idiots to do the work for you?
Also, what was the sample that the statistic was drawn from, and what was the demigraphic?
Sounds like unsubstantiated crap to me. Nothing more than linkbait .... - michaelviii, on 12/15/2007, -0/+0IMO this is something like a urban legend or hoax,I can't even find the John Heinz that was meant to be on Google.
Still, tons of Mac-haters are still taking advantage of this "research" because they don't care about evidence...... - Bytes_U, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I smell a hoax! Do a google search on Dr. John Heinz.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I do not believe that Dr. John Heinz is attempting to pull any hoaxes or scams, but I do not know if he is reliable. I just thought that his study had some interesting results considering the fact that Mac users are normally seen as higher educated and more affluent. One problem with his study is the fact that he only tested students. I think if he included non students he may have gotten a different result.
Also Im not sure that he is trying to say that you have to be smart to use a PC. I do not think the difficulty of use is part of the study.
