Mac OS X Leopard to be based on Ubuntu Linux

danaquarium.com — All the evidence is pointing towards Apple switching Mac OS X from a creaking Mach and BSD base, to Ubuntu. The reason for the October delay? Apple needs time to port their suite of other applications, especially the iLife suite and iTunes to the new Ubuntu base operating system, or cobble together a compatibility layer for their version of Ubuntu.
