- 4g3nt_Smith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3closing the damn thing is almost the exact same thing. the power use while closed and asleep is so negligible that on the powerbooks (dunno about the MB and MBP's), you could swap the batter without having to have a live power source, just put it to sleep and pop the battery out, pop the other one in, and wake it back up.

- aoe2bug, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Im not sure which ones it is - but there is a safesleep ability (and i have it on my ibook - but you need to do some firmware stuff). what happens is, when the computer goes to sleep, it also will save the memory to disk if safesleep is enabled, then if the power is disconnected it will be "ok" and when it starts up it will be right where you left it.

but i doubt they will ever add a menu hook to go into this mode - just to keep with the simplicity. (you can do it yourself, just by checking to make sure it works and then take out the battery while its asleep, pop it back in. but yea, not very convenient) - caliform, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Short-sighted article about a present feature, dugg by himself. Man, please bury this to a dark corner.
- fraggle35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you listen very hard, you'll hear that the voices in your head are really saying "***** off you're a *****".
- DouglasScott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The new MacBooks have a similar thing. If you take the power out and remove the battery while it's asleep, it will apear to be comepletey off. But put the battery back in and hit the power button it will pick up where it left off without rebooting.
