- mythicflux, on 01/05/2009, -1/+17Come on headless Mac tower with upgradeable video card!
(Though a dual monitor capable Mac Mini would also be damned cool too.) - dawnraid101, on 01/05/2009, -1/+12My sarcasm detector was struggling a bit there, thanks for clearing that up.
- chrisreynolds, on 01/05/2009, -0/+8The new iPhone will be incased in a small wet bar of soap.

here take it. - Rekutyn, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7This move will only help the OSx86 community.
- cmadach, on 01/05/2009, -4/+11Yes, iPhone nano: because the 3G isn't already small and smooth and slippery enough.
- j.carcinogen, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5The new 13" has a removable battery, why wouldn't the 17? Rumors are rumors, unverified.
- Xibby, on 01/05/2009, -2/+6I would say they are hitting a reasonable price point. Sure you can build your own PC for dirt cheap, but what components are you really putting into that? A potentially flaky NIC, video card, sound card, motherboard, chipset, [insert troublesome component here]? I've seen plenty of all of the above.
By the time you pick a decent case, motherboard, power supply, NIC (if not on MB), memory, video, sound, etc. your cost is getting up there.
Factoring out RAM cost (Buying RAM from Apple is a no-no, their prices are outrageous.) and considering that the hardware you are buying is of fairly good quality, I don't see the prices as outrageous. I've been considering getting myself and upgrade and debating between build my own, Dell, and Apple. Price wise my selected configurations are all in the same neighborhood... - w1n78, on 01/05/2009, -2/+5the best things apple can do with the iPhone is give it features that many are screaming about (MMS support, copy/paste - native support) not making it smaller or give it new colors.
- solarweasel, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2mac netbook
- insty, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2If there is any truth at all to the iPhone nano, let's all hope it is NOT tethered to AT&T.
Please,Please,Please,Please,Please,Please,Please,Please,Please,Please,Please - KibibyteBrain, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2Well, Core i7 calls. Dell was pushing a Core i7 box with 6 GB of RAM and a monitor for under a grand, so Apple had better jump into the new Core i7 game or be left horribly behind in the performance arena. But of course, if they want to go all nVidia chipsets, this could be a problem...
- DavidTurnbull, on 01/05/2009, -0/+2All I want is a new iMac to be announced. I was planning on buying one in the next few weeks anyways, so an upgrade would be nice.
- mrBitch, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2Actually, you bring up a VERY good point.
The iPhone nano (if it exists) would be a way for Apple to introduce an iPhone like phone that is NOT covered under Apple's current contractual obligations to AT&T. - unrequited, on 01/05/2009, -1/+3...why have an acronym (MWSF) if you're not going to refer to it again (in the digg summary and original article)
- Designerdiggs82, on 01/05/2009, -1/+3More Affordable Macs FTW! Apple has long needed to come down on the price of their hardware.
- scheming, on 01/05/2009, -0/+2false, there's macworld europe
- octodd, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1I really hope they announce a 32 or 64gb iphone. I would love to replace my razr and ipod at once.
- archer75, on 01/05/2009, -4/+5http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/01/04/nvid ...
28" imac with a Core i7? That's sexy. Though I would hope for a video card better than a 9800m. - smallnshort247, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1new mac mini =)
- EllimistX, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1Ouch, I stand corrected. Stupid me and my Americentrism. :)
- reviver, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1You must not be seeing the same $2800 price tag that I am.
- lateralus, on 01/05/2009, -0/+1Mobile Weaponry Safe For ....?
- mrBitch, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1RE: "welcome to driver hell."
You mean that drivers coded for Windows will be running on OSX ? I didn't think so. - archer75, on 01/05/2009, -1/+1Quality parts don't cost that much. You would pay a higher price for gaming parts, but you can get low cost and high quality parts and build a stable system.
- Designerdiggs82, on 01/09/2009, -0/+0Just Verified.
- groo68, on 01/05/2009, -1/+1that was stupid though.
- nickgwyn, on 01/05/2009, -6/+5good job arn!
- EllimistX, on 01/05/2009, -5/+3As opposed to "Macworld Anywhere Else"? There's only been one Macworld for years now...
- DeFex, on 01/05/2009, -4/+1haha nvidia chipsets. so i guess no more harping about "the best hardware" anymore.
welcome to driver hell. - snverhallen, on 01/05/2009, -6/+1Great review round up as usual MacRumors (arn)! Keep it up!
- Designerdiggs82, on 01/05/2009, -9/+3None removable battery on updated 17" MBP = FAIL!
- FredFredrickson, on 01/05/2009, -10/+2"While this rumor season started off slowly, the past few weeks have raised some interesting possibilities."
Oh what, another iPhone? Another MacBook? More button removal? A pathetic attempt by the media to get people interested in the same old computer that's made out of less parts? That sounds SO interesting! - dawnraid101, on 01/05/2009, -10/+2Goddammit just give me the minority report interface and system already.
- caffeinejunkie, on 01/05/2009, -16/+3Yeah....I really want more things that I can't replace the battery in....not.
