MacIntel Native Adobe Creative Suite 3: Ready this year.
thinksecret.com — Adobe is working hard to release Creative Suite 3 before the end of year. Adobe is making a big push —and receiving significant help from Apple—to get the software package into customer hands this year.

- digg it
- msaleem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Thine kill app hath returned.
- msaleem, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Most people are holding off buying their Macintels for precisely this program. Once Adobe CS3 is available, the demand will be even higher. Considering that, there will be a huge shortage, since the shortage still exists, it will be even more severe after CS3 is released.
- frem001, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Oh cool, it's good to hear they are working together to speed things up.
- Slipdisc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I wont name sources but I understand both platforms mac & win will incorporate some cumbersome DRM in order to put a dent in the rampant piracy of its products.
+ digg- pjack3191, on 10/12/2007, -17/+3NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ok I was happy when I saw this story, but that makes me unhappy.
I will just have to keep photoshop CS then - npacheco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5They already do this. 'Activation' is DRM. Any other DRM implementations will probably, as it usually does, be cracked before it hits the shelves.
- FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5software piracy cannot be stopped or prevented. if someone wants something bad enough, even if it's is protected with burning-edge, super-brilliant protection schemes, that person (or group of persons) will break free of "Activation Codes" and DRM, serial numbers, and trial expiration dates.
you gotta love the human spirit, though; where there is adversity, there is triumph. - muikano, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Seriously, are you advocating software piracy? There's two schools of thought on this. If you make money off the software, then you should pay for it. But if you're learning it, you shouldn't have to. But that puts all the wait in the professional market which in turn makes the art they do more expensive.
the second schoool of thought is: stealing is stealing.
I'm still ambivalent over this. I think i'm going to stop commenting on digg for awhile. the comments here are ridiculously without merit sometimes. - FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@mulkano
if you read what i wrote, i did not in any way advocate piracy. i merely stated that it can never be stopped. i will also conjecture that it will continue to propogate.
as far as what i believe should be? well, nobody owns the patent on a hammer or on a paintbrush or on the wheel. as software becomes that essential of a tool for people, they will do what they have to do to acquire it-- even steal it. not only that, but when software is pirated, there is not any real material lost. the "product" is an abstraction of the ability to lawfully posess a copy and to be able to use it. when a person pirates, say, photoshop, the reason 99% of the time is because they can't afford it. since they were never going to buy it, nothing calculable is lost. - FunkyWitDaSysTm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1same thing applies for music, movies, and tv shows.
- pjack3191, on 10/12/2007, -17/+3NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
- coding, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2It's about time they realized porting isn't THAT hard.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7When you are dealing with millions of lines of code, APIs, graphics layers ect, it might not be terribly difficult, but it's time consuming.
- deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Keep in mind Adobe doesn't use Xcode so they're not just porting an app, they're porting an entire development platform too.
- rmassie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1There were analyst reports that Adobe wasn't going to ship a version of this until Spring of next year.
So much for analysts.- Tyrekicker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There were analyst reports that [Apple] wasn't going to ship a version of [their macs based on intel chips].
So much for analysts. - tempusrob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Analysts say whatever the hell they want, and get paid for it. If they're right they can say "Told you so!" and if they're wrong they get paid for making up reasons they were wrong.
- dracula7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5there was an analyst report that said %60 (aproximately) of all analyst reports are untrue
this is good news, by the way, because i just bought my macbook pro today

- chiizu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I can imagine that a few phone calls from Jobs got them starting on it. The early success of the Intel Macs is really riding on this.
At least, not until these native apps come out.
I seriously want an iMac, but I'd rather not get one if I'm not going to get better performance out of it than my old powerbook.- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1A Quad-G5 should be powerful enough.
- zwilliams, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Excellent news if true. A computer without a copy of Photoshop is like a calculator without an addition button.
- geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6I don't have photoshop on any of my machines. I have no use for it; who needs a super high power, professional photo app if the most you ever do to manipulate a photo is to rotate/crop it?
My Mac comes with an application perfect for that, iPhoto. My Windows PC comes with an app that's almost good enough (Paint), and an application that can be used to preview pictures that has some of the same functionality (default Image Viewer).
Don't assume one application makes the platform. It'd be like me saying "A machine without FrontRow is like a calculator without an Addition button", or "A machine without Firefox is like a calculator without an addition button". I understand a lot of Mac users are Adobe users, but not all of them, and that's important to note. Besides, I don't evangelize companies who force users to use activation (and I HATE the new Intel macs with DRM, but I'll probably still buy one after a year or two when the shackles are put on media and us humans are treated like pirates). - xioner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just hope your prediction about the media comes true... but I'm not sure it will be in only a year or two... more like 5-10.
Part of the problem: we need younger people in government. - noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"My Windows PC comes with an app that's almost good enough (Paint)"
Paint is far from good enough, but that is my opinion.
- geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6I don't have photoshop on any of my machines. I have no use for it; who needs a super high power, professional photo app if the most you ever do to manipulate a photo is to rotate/crop it?
- NoOneButMe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"I wont name sources but I understand both platforms mac & win will incorporate some cumbersome DRM in order to put a dent in the rampant piracy of its products."
You mean like the need for serials, activation via telephone, something along those lines? The stuff that already exists?- npacheco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7there is a reply button under peoples names now, btw :)
- Slipdisc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No, more specifically, a DRM scheme that's more akin to Microsoft's WMA encryption
- DtectiveGFriday, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2sweet. i need a new mac.
- mad23dog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This is really good. I know a few people who use these pro apps and really want to buy a new Mac.
- designerjoe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I can't wait to see the new features. I want a MacBook Pro sooooo bad.
- spiralfive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9So, Dvorak must have been wrong about this being a reason Apple was going to switch to Windows. :)
- pintong, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4My thoughts exactly. Bring out the white coats.
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Dvorak wrong? Hell must be pretty cold this time of year...
- diggmann, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0And I'm sure the 2 new features (one being Intel compatibility) and added bloat will be worth the outrageous price tag.
I think I'll stick with my copy of Photoshop 7 and Illustrator 10 (Running on 10.3.9, to boot) - frem001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"I wont name sources but I understand both platforms mac & win will incorporate some cumbersome DRM in order to put a dent in the rampant piracy of its products.
+ digg"
Autodesk are doing the same with autocad 2007, within your saved files so no other program can use it- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Use the reply button for goodness sakes!
- frem001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2does anyone re-read the entire forum when checking a post again, it's useful in certain circumstances, like this one.
- maxsunset, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes thats why they just bought Alias, to cripple inter-program compatability. Actually, it's the opposite (so they say).
- xeeton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Didn't Adobe CS2 come out recently? I just bought it a few months ago.
- stanthegoomba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, but Adobe said they wouldn't port CS2 to Intel. This way everyone has to pay again to upgrade. :P
- danielandrews, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1May 2005.
- rocketrye12, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3take that dvorak
- ChineseHooker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I wouldn't pay too much attention to this report.
It's from ThinkSecret. They essentially publish ***** time and time again.
Second, they don't say where their sources are from so they have no credibility.
Its not even 'sources close to Adobe.'- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You know until I encountered you I always thought very highly of chinese hookers. You however are a retard.
Think Secret is not any worse than the other rumor sites. - Logal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Boondoggle, you are my hero.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You know until I encountered you I always thought very highly of chinese hookers. You however are a retard.
- jmholloway, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2i could get behind this. I also want a mactel so bad I cant see straight.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3try laying off the masturbating... vision might improve.
- alex007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Poor Adobe... has to port *again*. An of course Apple has no choice but to help Adobe get it done.
- MrJohnson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"the second school of thought is: stealing is stealing."
Actually you're wrong. It's Copyright infringement, not theft.
Also, I would like to point out that the majority of people who pirate this software wouldn't buy it anyway because of its enormous price. - Stark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it better be fully compatible with cs2 files.
- hunchback, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Dude, just a ***** rumour ...
- maxsunset, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Code named "Banana Split"?! (thanks Gwen...)
Seriously, the new PS would be totally worth it JUST for a rotating canvas feature a-la Painter! Sounds like a major upgrade, especially after the Macromedia purchase. Should be sweet.
Check out the new & improved
