- Jespoir, on 11/07/2009, -1/+16Sweet. Hordes of Orcs is pretty good!
- reiggin, on 11/07/2009, -0/+10Twitterific and Shovebox are good little apps. Although, Twitterific lacks a "retweet" shortcut which is big oversight after 3 major releases. Don't think I'll get much use out of the other apps, though. MacHeist always offers good deals on bundles and free certainly can't be beat.
BTW: Good luck getting Hordes of Orcs to work. The registration servers were overloaded all day yesterday after MacRumors.com posted this deal. Having this now show up on Digg won't help any. Oh, and if you open up the registration window, there is no way to get rid of it without a terminal command or logging out. No way to force quit. http://www.macheist.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=16 ... - G-RaZoR, on 11/07/2009, -1/+8BIG Fan of Macheist!!!
- Pramma, on 11/07/2009, -0/+7Software costs money!?
- digidevil, on 11/07/2009, -0/+5Gobble on my hole, MacHeist.
- enricorpg, on 11/07/2009, -0/+5Yes, there is a way to force quit: Activity monitor. Tried that yesterday and it worked.
Today I tried registering again and there's no more problem =) - kefkaantakrist, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4You should be thanking reiggin for offering you good luck. Clearly that is why you had no problem registering.
- vashmyvindows, on 11/07/2009, -1/+4It's great for consumers, bad for software houses. When you choose, say, one invoicing app to include in the bundle, what do you think happens to all its competitors?
It's the worst when they put in a copycat. This year they had The Hit List, SousChef, and Espresso. Sucks for Things, MacGourmet, and Coda. - spworm, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3not unlike many flash games though
- ASFx, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3I actually bought Hordes of orcs last year. It was pretty awesome.
- retral, on 11/07/2009, -1/+4Is it just me or is random indy mac software expensive as ***k?
- CowGoesMooo, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3Why do I get the vibe that WriteRoom is definitely not worth $25? Either way, can't argue with free stuff, I can find a lot of use in ShoveBox, and Hordes of Orcs is pretty fun.
- anshuman, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2hummmm. nice. getting it.
- pook187, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Dugg for 'gobble' and 'hole' in the same sentence.
- enricorpg, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2It's a 2006 video. Get that.
- gamepr0, on 11/07/2009, -1/+3Most of the time it's also quality software, unlike most random indie windows software I found.
- jetpacmonkey, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2that would be force quit, gamepr0, which reiggin said didn't work. Also, registering worked fine for me today.
- MtheoryX, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1It's tower defense with green bad guys. I don't see what the fuss is all about.
- MtheoryX, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Worked fine for me just now.
- Jespoir, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1How is that a valid point to make against a free game? By the way, it's free. And oh yeah, it's free.
- Juaquin, on 11/07/2009, -2/+3I just registered two hours ago and so did my roommate, no problem. But whatever.
- zoom1928, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Too bad you can't actually play it since the version they link to still asks for a serial #.
- RyomaNagare, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1I actually prefer tweetie to twitterrific, and dropzone + regular grabs for uploading stuff, is one more step but its got more flexibility. shovelbox is great, as was fresh last year's bundle.
always good surprises. still write room is of no use to me - ericboehs, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1I've been using this script for a while now. It just SCPs a screenshot to your server. I use Fast Scripts (free for up to ten global shortcuts) to launch it. You'll need to setup ssh keys to your server for passwordless login.
In case digg screwed with it: http://slexy.org/view/s2Kkv3rdi2

fi - cemcclelland, on 11/09/2009, -1/+1it's all trial BS
- Raumschiff, on 11/09/2009, -1/+1I posted this three days ago:
http://digg.com/apple/Macheist_bundle_6_apps_for_F ...
Why bother posting. - MtheoryX, on 11/08/2009, -1/+1I think Evernote has ShoveBox beat out of the gate.
- MtheoryX, on 11/07/2009, -2/+2"Worth" is quite a subjective term here.
Case in point: TinyGrab
1) Does what system screenshot does
-not hard to script the event
2) Does what Skitch.app does, uploads it to a server
-some value here, but you can do the same with the Flickr API
3) Does what Skitch.com does, copies URL to clipboard
-scriptable system event, no big deal
4) Shortens URL
-bit.ly has a killer API, even better, can script this too
So, put together these "convenience" steps in TinyGrab and you have an app "worth" $14? Are you ***** kidding me?
Oh, and the best part... unless you pay for the "premium" plan on their site, you can only do 10 uploads per day... 10 ***** UPLOADS PER DAY?!?!
FFS, I go through that number of screens in an hour sometimes. - gamepr0, on 11/07/2009, -2/+1or cmd+alt+esc...
- pitchblackjava, on 11/07/2009, -3/+1That "But whatever" was important.
- christianw, on 11/07/2009, -10/+1and this still applies
