- PARAPA, on 10/10/2007, -15/+4Is it just me or is the new iMac...ugly?
- shmittay84, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12It's just you.
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2the new ones better looking than the last.. the design of the last one is why I never bought one.
They looked like toys.
- Konstantino, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Didn't mention Mac mini today, how is it doing?"
Tim: "We're refreshing the Mac mini today."
...What!? That wasn't in the announcements. - Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Numbers FTW!!!
- mrASSMAN, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Weird how Wired ( http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2007/08/apple-product-a.html ) gives completely different quotes during the Q & A.. what the hell.

- Eptiger, on 10/10/2007, -6/+20Yeah, I don't know why more people aren't digging this. They provide the most detail and even pictures.
- SirCrumpet, on 10/10/2007, -8/+2yep - best live-blogging by far
- Stecchino, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1As well as the only ones who haven't had a site crash yet it seems.

- truNWA, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6I'm looking forward to a new iMac, and even a new iPod even though it's a long shot.
- harrypl0tter, on 10/10/2007, -31/+4HOLY ***** ENOUGH of the gay ass apple on the home page...can't you dumbasses see there is already 4 other stories about the same damn thing on the front page?
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Though his delivery leaves much to be desired, he's right you know. There's a reason there's a "Bury > Duplicate Story" button... you're not supposed to have multiple stories of the same thing.
- specialK16, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Damn it... I actually reported and burried you by accident...
Really it was by accident!!! - MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1And yet it hasn't stopped you from posting nearly the same stupid crap in each story. Maybe along with higher dosage delirium medication you should block the Apple section.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You can choose not to see Apple stories. Check your preferences. furthermore, if you hate Apple so much, why the ***** are you on this thread at all?
- mercurysquad, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1***** block the apple section and quit whining already.
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I would, but people keep submitting under topics they shouldn't and they keep showing up.
- amtrakattack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm glad homophobia is alive and well. Tell me, when do you get your GED?
- TomRemixed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Although I too do not enjoy the constant Apple coverage on digg when it's stuff like "ZOMG A NEW KEYBOARD," I think that this article is understandable since it happens to be a keynote.
- mopper, on 10/10/2007, -6/+5I want something in between the mac mini and mac pro
- noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -11/+2a hot chick would be nice... for you guys anyway. I've got a hot wife, just need the mini and mac pro
- jjk5, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6Yeah, if only they had something like an "iMac" that could fit that spot. Wouldn't that be grand?
- morphie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9He means something without a screen attached to it.
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I'd like to buy a Mac. However, I still have a couple years left in my current laptop, the Mini is way too underpowered and offers virtually no expandability, the Mac Pro is about a grand more than I'm willing to spend, and I already have a very nice 24" LCD. Apple offers *nothing* that fits my needs, a tower with modest hardware would be ideal.
- blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Not sure why you digg mopper down.
I'd like something small and elegant. Slightly bigger than a mac mini, with a real big hard drive (not a laptop HD) and a good graphics card so I can play some games, if not the latest, and run CoreImage applications at their best possible performance AND be able to purchase 2 identical 22 inch monitors and hook them up.
Right now it's:
a) the mac pro, very expensive and high end CPU
b) imac. If you want a second screen it won't be the same
c) mac mini, low performance HD and graphics.
There's really room for something in between, like a new Cube. And even then I don't really care if the graphics card is upgradeable, I want to be able to pick a good one when I buy it.
- Gee1004, on 10/10/2007, -18/+3I am going to laugh my butt off when no new iMacs will be announced. According to Apple's website 24 hour shipping on current stock iMacs. That's not a good sign for new inventory.

- rcktwnmad, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6that didn't take long. 6 minutes in and a new imac. something tells me big things are coming
- teknobryan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3he said "today we're focusing on the imac"
- rcktwnmad, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2that's dandy, but steve kind of let the cat out of the bag 6 minutes in. not much more to announce as far as imac goes
- ketha, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Pictures, Pictures!!!!
- LegendarySock, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1He just revealed the new iMac, its not as slim as the mockup on the internet, but its sleeker than the previous model. The new keyboard has also just been unveiled.
- ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1By "just" you mean "for the past 4 weeks been on the internet"?
- ketha, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4ah... not a massive departure... but nice... v. nice... proof of the pudding is seeing this thing up close.. it's the details with apple.

- basye, on 10/10/2007, -9/+2The new iMac just gave me a hard on!
- morphie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I just love the design. Good choice. :)
- rowlodge, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2i want one!...dont even know what it is. stuff site just bogged down real bad before it said something had firewire on the table.
- MasterJediDan, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2NEW iMAC!!!! w00t! Up to 1TB hard drive, 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM, 17, 20, and 24-inch models, 802.11n, and bluetooth 2.0...starting at $1199. Lovely design too.
- teknobryan, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2no. he said Core 2 Extreme, not Duo
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Core 2 Extreme is a C2Duo chip.
- teknobryan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1No it's not. They're different.
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It only has a higher clockspeed and an 'unlocked' multiplier, the FSB and cache sizes are no faster or larger than, say, an E6750. The Pentium-D Extreme chips had more differences, but it is not the case with the C2D. Good to know you've fallen for Intel marketing.
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Core 2 Extreme is a C2Duo chip.
- sleepyness, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3NO 17" MODEL. NOOB.
- teknobryan, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2no. he said Core 2 Extreme, not Duo
- Stirk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Why the glossy displays? Why! I hope there is an option for matte.
- skellener, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Nope.
- mogus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I agree. Maybe it would be okay for a desktop, but I already know I don't like how the glossy screens look on the laptops.
- mogus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Umm, I think the comment system is acting a little weird. Sorry for the double reply...
- ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2for this comment system that is referred to as "normal"
Can we get a new one yet?
- ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2for this comment system that is referred to as "normal"
- StandardsDT, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3The new iMacs look amazing!
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Can anyone get Gizmodo's LiveBlogging to load? wtf? They ***** up the last one too!
- ketha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah, it's loaded, eventually. It's kinda wappy.. goes in and out but seems to be fastest, easiest and most detailed.
- hypermite, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3hello, new keyboard!

- derleiermann, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It looks a lot like the happy hacking keyboard... I'm digging the concept!
- sleepyness, on 10/10/2007, -7/+51gb standard memory is not cool...
- coldfusion1970, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1But you can memory cheaper from a 3rd party than Apple can sell you.
Which is what i do with all my Macs. - blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's actually fine unless you run Parallels or Vmware (or some heavy duty applications but then you can buy more ram).
- coldfusion1970, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1But you can memory cheaper from a 3rd party than Apple can sell you.
- skellener, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1What...no black?
- fanclerks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Sweet, iLife '08! I knew there was a reason I waited. :D
- basye, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5"Note that the Mac mini is still pictured as part of Apple's product line."
NOT DEAD.- lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1TOO BAD. If they're not going to update its embarassing specs, they should just drop it.
- jhuebel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3SJ mentioned that they're refreshing the Mini's today. I'm glad to hear it, since my wife's PPC Mac Mini is showing its age.
- lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1TOO BAD. If they're not going to update its embarassing specs, they should just drop it.
- scoot2006, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2I wonder if fake steve jobs will be there
- mournsanity, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This looks much, much better than the old model. Good job, Apple.
- iamlutheran, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1New iMac with Core 2 Extreme processor - sweet!
- troyallen069, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2fap fap
- ketha, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2There's a new icon on the bottom right that has 3 bars. We think it could be the new spreadsheet app.
GIzmodo- Bamborzled, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's called "Numbers". Looks like Excel, but more design-oriented.
- mogus, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13New idea for Apple to exploit fanboys: make news conferences like this pay per view on iTunes. Don't laugh, it'd work.
- AppleLuva, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7That's a great F'n idea! You know you'd pay! 1.99...I'M IN!
- mogus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Especially to not have to bog down Engadget's servers hitting reload every 30sec...
- ketha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'd so pay

- rudy23, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10Today we bring you picasa for mac. i mean iPhoto08
- netburnr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Anyone know if there will be a video version later?
- Kitsune818, on 10/10/2007, -6/+4So, Apple essentially cloned Picasa?
- paulstringer, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4your kidding right? do some research how long has iPhoto been around.
- Kitsune818, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Do your own research. They were developed and released concurrently in January of 2002. Picasa was originally the product of idealab. I was reffering to the tagging of "events" which Apple has apparently lovingly lifted.
- paulstringer, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4your kidding right? do some research how long has iPhoto been around.
- Ramble, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4Eugh, 1GB memory, crappy graphics, tiny amounts of HD storage. Enjoy the new Macs people.
- Gogogo111, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5What, you think they're going to fit a 8800GTX in there? Thats stupid. 250GB is enough for anyone, unless you're doing heavy downloading. I've only used up about 7/10 of my 80GB drive.
The only think I'm disappointed in is the memory. I want that to at least be 2GB now. - noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It takes up to 4GB of memory, what are you bitching about? 1 GB is good enough for most things, if it isn't good enough for you, upgrade. There is no reason for the base spec tobe higher than the average computer user needs.
- Gogogo111, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5What, you think they're going to fit a 8800GTX in there? Thats stupid. 250GB is enough for anyone, unless you're doing heavy downloading. I've only used up about 7/10 of my 80GB drive.

ha ha ha- Gogogo111, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2lol i laughed at that too.
- blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is so much like Safari's "private browsing feature". Supposedly useful to a mac in a cybercafe or a public place (and actually it is) but you know they designed it as the porn browser by excellence.
