- connorf, on 08/15/2008, -0/+27This + Pandora = DRM Sober At Last!
- kuz2r, on 08/15/2008, -0/+25if you want to get it for free get it now, I think they will start charging $5 after 100k downloads.
- ray8753, on 08/15/2008, -0/+25Why This Program Rules
1. Free
2. Making your 8g 3g phone into a 1 terabyte music monster on demand !*for some*
3. Free
and yet some people still whine.......... - Roundbadge, on 08/15/2008, -0/+18I hate sounding like a fan boy here, but this is the exact right kind of application/software to demonstrate the true potential of the 2.x iPhone software - it's just great, and does simple and valuable stuff.
And it's in the App store! I still don't get why Qik (stream video directly from your iPhone) can only be installed on jailbroken iPhones. - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -0/+16Who else went and downloaded it even if they weren't sure they were going to use it just to be one of the first 100,000 to get it for free? :)
- frumpsnake, on 08/15/2008, -0/+14My work firewall is an absolute bitch (if the destination port isn't 443 or 80 I'm probably not getting access--can't even hit FTP sites) and yet I'm having no problems streaming my work computer's iTunes library to my iPhone over 3G. Great stuff. Sound quality is fine too.
- NitrousFlare, on 08/15/2008, -0/+13It's cool that you can listen to a friend's, or 30 friend's, music as well.
- quomen, on 08/15/2008, -1/+13Anyone know the bitrate of streamed music?
- Munceenuts, on 08/15/2008, -0/+11there*
- sirius2k3, on 08/15/2008, -0/+11It works! Incredibly powerful iPhone app. Been testing it out and I love it.
- MiniCooper2007, on 08/16/2008, -0/+9This is a great app, I really like how it's free for the first 100,000 users, mainly because I was one of those first 100,000 XD
- OnlyGirlOnDigg, on 08/15/2008, -2/+11Another reason to buy an ipod touch.
- loconet, on 08/15/2008, -0/+9They actually have a Linux version? wow .. I must be dreaming. This is awesome.
- iptib, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8I cannot wait to try this when I get home. If it works as advertised, it will be among the top apps in the App Store.
- yyymilitia, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8It's taking a while to scan my library, how long does it take?
- btschul, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8As of now, the app is still free. hurry and download it.
- loconet, on 08/16/2008, -0/+8ha! Now let's see Rogers tell me their crappy ass plan is good enough.
- ePuck, on 08/15/2008, -1/+8Sweet, Got it installed. now I need an Iphone,,,
- mjenkins, on 08/15/2008, -0/+7This app works great over wifi but I couldn't get it to work over EDGE (which it's supposed to be able to do).
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6But, I'm only in one country.
- uhhNo, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6no, last.fm is infinitely superior to pandora because it actually plays in more than one country
- spookyttws, on 08/15/2008, -0/+6I got my copy! Even after this hit the front page.
- corneliousjd, on 08/15/2008, -1/+7How can their be a guide for this?
1. install desktop software
2. install iphone app - petemcfraser, on 08/15/2008, -1/+6wouldn't want to disappoint you.
- morningchai, on 08/16/2008, -0/+5Works like a charm.
But now my friends know I have complete discographies of Robbie Williams and Barbra Streisand. I swear, my parents made me download it for them. - NetSliderX, on 08/16/2008, -0/+53. Profit!
- isimon42o, on 08/16/2008, -1/+6all i can say is suck it zune social!
- btschul, on 08/15/2008, -3/+8Pandora ftw
- mjenkins, on 08/15/2008, -0/+5You can get it in the App Store both on computer AND on the iPhone itself. Last night a search on the iPhone didn't bring it up but going through the categories to the music section, it was listed and could be downloaded.
- Infectedbull, on 08/15/2008, -0/+5You have to get it via iTunes on your comp, not via the iPhone I guess.
- MentalV, on 08/16/2008, -2/+6$200 iPhone 3g 8 gig
w/ $90 plan from att

& this program
I am in my car listening to my music collection from home. Something tells me the iPod touch wouldn't be able to connect to your home computer, or receive a call. :) - adairnic, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4If you are getting intermittent issues with the service not working, their blog says something about server issues with the surge of new users with the new iPhone app
http://www.simplifymedia.com/blog/ - kuz2r, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4Wait, it took me over one hour to scan my libraries.
- mikek814, on 08/15/2008, -0/+4It took over one hour to scan my library. Also, keep in mind it will not show your music in full until whole library is scanned. So you may not see some of your playlists.
- Jsmith08, on 08/16/2008, -0/+4Dugg for Brad Sucks.
- adairnic, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3If you are getting intermittent issues with the service not working, their blog says something about server issues with the surge of new users with the new iPhone app
http://www.simplifymedia.com/blog/ - Niksterg11, on 08/15/2008, -0/+3Yeah, took me well over an hour to show the full library. I started saying "Scanning" or something like that, then it went to the number it scanned, and that number slowly went up over the course of an hour or so.
- deadbaby, on 08/16/2008, -0/+3It does if you jailbreak it. Anyway, with this app you just make an account and it handles locating your computer so no need for dyndns. You also don't have to open any ports at all -- the client on the computer initiates the stream to the iPhone(s) You just have to be logged in on both sides for it to work. It's pretty snazzy. I doubt it's encrypted however I can't think of any reason to bother encrypting streaming audio.
- Thorpe, on 08/15/2008, -4/+7Buried. /not a fanboy
- rowjimmy, on 08/16/2008, -1/+4not to measure dicks or anything, but i've got 2 200 gig externals filled with music (almost all of it is 192kb mp3s, a small amount is flac), and probably another 100 gigs on various internal harddrives on different desktops. a lot of people i know have a similar amount of music. 2gb - while certainly enough to have on you at any one time - is not very much music at all
- RADRaze2KX, on 08/16/2008, -0/+3this has been done, and nearly perfected, already: www.orb.com
oh and it's easier to setup, and it's free, and streams to almost any device with internet, not just iPhone... Wii, PS3, XBox360, Palm, Laptop, etc... - BarriedaleNick, on 08/16/2008, -0/+3Orb is just brilliant and sounds much more functional than this app. With orb you get a whole lot more - video, photos, music, remote access to your files. Plus it's free for everyone. It doesnt matter though. This will get dugg down and everyone will still bang on about how this is new and revolutionary and how it shows how good the iPhone is...- even though so many people have been doing this on their phones for the last year or two.
- RedS0x, on 08/16/2008, -0/+3The article says $3.99, but a good point.
- deadbaby, on 08/16/2008, -1/+3Congratulations. Do you want a cookie?
- XanderDee, on 08/16/2008, -0/+2I did that before I read your post. This is good ***** it turns my ***** 8 gig iphone to a Multi terabyte beast.
- sirmasterboy, on 08/16/2008, -0/+2All of that works on the version of simplifymedia that has been in installer for jailbroken phones for almost 6 months.
- n4tune8, on 08/16/2008, -0/+24. No adware, no spyware, no freaking googlebar, yahoobar, nagbar, etc...
5. It just works - inactive, on 08/15/2008, -0/+2I just put my ampache (ampache.org) server on one of my SSL domains at home and listen from wherever. That way I can control my own catalog, bitrates, preferences, playlists, etc. Many terabytes at my control.
I am not sure if iPhone has a player that supports SSL, but there are plenty of desktop players that do. If iPhone doesn't, should request it. - 3thereal, on 08/16/2008, -0/+2I had a similar problem. When sharing my winamp library, it would stick at exactly 20,125 songs every time, didn't matter how I reset the share. I changed it to share my itunes library instead, and it showed almost all of my 28k songs.
