Let the unbricking begin-iPhone Elite team announces "revirginizer" release

tuaw.com — Over at Google Code, the iphone-elite team has released their revirginizing tool, which is designed to rebuild your iPhone's seczone lock table. After using this tool, the team suggests, your 1.0.2 unlocked iPhone will return to its pre-unlocked state and be safe to upgrade to 1.1.1.

    Worked perfectly for me: revirginzed > INdependence downgrade to 1.0.2 > INdependence prepare for 1.1.1 > INdependence Activate, Jailbrake > AnySIM 1.1 for Unlock.

  • tendonut, on 10/24/2007, -2/+2I wish AT&T (and in turn, Apple) had more sympathy for people who unlock their iPhones. It's not like we just don't choose to use AT&T, but some of us are stuck in contracts with other carriers (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile), and just don't have the option to leave our carrier without paying an outrageous early-termination fee. In my area, AT&T is a joke though. When Cingular bought out AT&T Wireless a few years ago, they started lowering their transmitters/receivers on the cell towers, thus giving customers terrible reception. They then said that it was because of the two networks merging, which was just a coverup for them cutting their tower renting fees to support running two entirely seperate networks. But wasn't AT&T a CDMA or TDMA-based service? How can people with Cingular phones (GSM) use AT&T tranceivers anyways? How can I get more bars in more places if my phone can't even access the "new" towers? My point is I went to Verizon after 8 years of quality service with Cingular because the AT&T merge destroyed their service quality in my area. I would NEVER go back to them. I was lucky if I would pull 1 bar when I left Cingular in just about any area. My phone was useless in my house. So how am I to ever get an iPhone?
