Hah! I don't think anyone who bought the iPhone *chose* AT&T... - HappyScrappy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15The priceless gag was played out 10 years ago.
- gr3yn3t, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13I love how stories no longer even need to specify "IPHONE" anymore, its just assumed.
- tobias, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Your call is very important to us!
sure... - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14Kristopher Tate is a spoiled little brat.
- battybattybatt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Un believable BS. I was watching the Live Action Streaming of zooomr.tv's Kris helping to activate a newiPhone to the ATT&T network, and the hold times, ludicrous, the hangups. He would be in the que, and then hung up on with a message saying that there was now a "high call volume". High call volumes only occur AFTER you may have been on hold to OTHER people coming AFTER you in a que, not DURING.
Verizon, not so much of a problem for our two phones, but we still did get the auto-bill pay problem, and had to pay up to the day (manually) in order to complete the activation. So doing on iTunes will not work - unless you choose to pay using your iTunes account, which you can do. - thomashan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7AT&T didn't get the memo from Apple...
- NiGHTSChao, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Buried because of the stupid title description
Honestly, even if the iphone was worth buying, it still wouldn't justify AT&T as the provider
Thats why I'm glad I don't have a cell phone :) - iamshades, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Call Tate! 1-(650)-248-1409
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Oh, the iPhone costs much more than that. iPhone, plus tax, plus activation fee, plus monthly fee, plus ITS tax. Luckily my dad has AT&T, so it's only an affordable 20 bucks.
Anyway, the AT&T Issue is their problem, not Apple's. - Skettalee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Yet more disappointing things about the iPhone experience for us geeks. http://tinyurl.com/2zk69j
- SystmBetatester, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8chris's number is (650) 248 1409... call away... gotta love live stream
- digger_twit, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9Nice title... activating what?
- drewolanoff, on 06/10/2008, -0/+5that's some BS!
- selil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4OK putting everybody else's number up from caller ID is pretty hilarious
- harvinator24, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The only thing i can think of more boring then being on hold for customer service is watching someone hold for customer service. whats wrong with you guys.
- nashpreds99, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I have been waiting over 28 hours for my phone to be activated.
- mikehedge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4good luck !
- crawf061, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2for the record: it is never "necessary"
- cmgarcia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What else would he be activating with AT&T on June 30th?
- JaredXM, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hey that's me
- afruff23, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3His RAZR, KRZR, SLVR, or possibly ROKR.
- Oronar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Ooo! A phone number! Lets call like crazy monkies!
- CiscoTM, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Ha Ha I got your number
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Your first problem was you handed them $500...
- homestar14, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3They just got hung up on AGAIN while waiting to talk to a supervisor!!! >:(
- bcat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1In other news, his name is "Kris", not "Chris".
- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1(650)-248-1409
- NikoKun, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4I hate AT&T... they made me pay them 500$ for some kind of starting fee to get their service... and said after a year or so that money would go tword my bill... almost a year later and no word of that 500$ at all... it's like costumer service is trying to hide it, to get away with stealing my money... *****...
I'm this close to canceling and forgetting about that money all together... not like I can get it back anyway... even if I'm broke and need it... - iamshades, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1415-992-5350 his skype number
- scoharris, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2the truth comes out!
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1he just gave his phone number to everyone! wow...
- selil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1And during the stream he gave out his buddies cell phone number.. instantly RING!!!!!!!!!
- chrisutley, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Waaaaaaah. My iPhone was on the network and loaded with my mail, bookmarks, photos, and music on the first try in a matter of minutes.
- JaredXM, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1wait no it's not. You got the number wrong haha.
- MikeTheC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Having been a Cingular/New AT&T customer, all I can say I can sum up in two words:
"Never Again" - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2one of the people who called him 614-312-2944
- CanadaMan87, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1- and it's Mastercard, not Visa. I would think that was pretty obvious, considering that the name "Mastercard" is used in the slogan.
- Dolomite, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hopefully Michael Moore makes a documentary exposing the iPhone conspiracy.
- praveens, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1lame..we know about att..this is a waste of time
- Tbobx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Like a lot of Apple products the iPhone is stumbling out of the gate.
- gyrfalcon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Oh they paid sooo much money... We must have pitty on them!
Poor goverment, they spend so much money, and they can't get rid of the terrorists...blahahah... - MeNaCe942, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1buried for using the mastercard catch phrase, oh and because it had to do with the iphone...
- selil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1By the way after 8 hours 'ATT' said it was the "Core Activation Center" which is not open that is causing the issues... After they said it was half a dozen things....
- subix, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Your first problem was likely terrible credit. That fee you paid is most likely a deposit because you have credit problems. They say you will get your money back after a year and you complain that they have not given your money back before then? I hate AT&T as much as anyone else but every cell company will do the same damn thing when they don't trust you to pay your bill....
- Buckiller, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2better not... hes showing that ***** on the webcam
- Buckiller, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2better not... hes showing that ***** on the webcam
- Bootes, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I called ATT after activating to make sure everything was set up correctly. Kind of confusing on how to get the second number when activating 2 phones under a family plan. Anyways I had no wait and no trouble getting help.
- homestar14, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2They just got through--FINALLY! Let's see if they get it working!
- ajwinder, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I fail to see how this isn't apple's problem, or why it shouldn't be perceived as such. Apple chose to go with AT&T, if AT&T is shafting the customers that Apple has sent their way, well, what do you think the perception is. Apple had the opportunity to go with any carrier, they reap the benefits and the burden.
Granted, most cell companies pull their fair share of crap, I'm just saying that AT&T pulls more than their fair share of it. I'm certainly not about to switch carriers for the phone, because while the iPhone is definitely awesome, I'm not gonna be able to experience that unless I'm connected to a solid network. And its seeming like with AT&T, getting on to the network is tough, and actually dealing with it is another story entirely.
iPhone, I'll see you in 5 years after the AT&T lockout is over ;) -
