Your comments don't help anything and only bring negative responses, it's just not useful at all. The best thing to do if you are not interested in a story is to ignore it or bury it, not comment and make other people tell you off.

You probably own an iPod and just can't afford anything else right now. It's okay though, I'm sure if you check eBay you can find one of the first generation MacBook's for a cheaper price, although you'll probably only be able to afford the white version.

Tiger-direct and Newegg both ship APO, Apple can't even process my card because it's tied to an APO address. I had a MacBook Pro on order, but they couldn't charge me, or send to the address. Sad when I can't give them my money.

    why wouldn't they update the macbooks, it does not cost them anything else more, and it would be better for the consumer, and how dumb would apple look when dell will be advert icing lower end models for 799 with the core 2s and apples laptop will be 1099 for a core duo?

    through the next few years apple will have a completely different scheme of updating processors because now they have to maintain a competition.

    not updating the minis and the macbooks would be a ripoff to the costumers because the processors will be the SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY

The ExpressCard slot is nice but not a deal breaker for me. Apple sucks as they probably won't do this, even as a BTO option however. I prefer a smaller form factor than a notebook with a 15.4-inch screen...
  • archer75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All I want is a mini with a better video card. There are very good offerings from both ATI and Nvidia that are small and don't produce much heat but can handle any games out today at 1600x1200 with no issues.
    Put one of those cards in my mini and i'm a very happy man.

  • richardlawler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would be nice if the most popular professional application for the Mac was actually able use those processors. It's amazing. The Core Duo runs Photoshop amazingly on Windows, and here it is already obsolete in the Mac Book Pro etc. There's still no Photoshop for Mac Intel. Any rumours how fast the processors will be by that time.

    Also any digg that starts off with "Jobs might..." is just lame.

  • joel8x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, my "dream" MacBook Pro would be basically the black MackBook with a good video card, better speakers, a higher resolution screen (the bezel on the MacBooks is quite thick - could maybe fit a 14" widescreen in the same size lid), and of course the Core 2 Duo. An added bonus would be an express card slot if they could find the room.

I would love to use 4GB of RAM in a 20" Intel iMac--I'd probably never even think twice before converting, burning/ripping, chatting, downloading, surfing, etc. The ability to get some of those newer ram modules (allowing up to 4GB) working with Apple's/Intel's EFI would be nice in the near future.

    And I know it's a long shot, but updated Superdrives for both the portable and desktop line....that'd be so great!

I want a better video card with a smaller form factor too, but my only hope is that they release the 965 extreme intel card (higher end one) with the macbook so that it at least support T&L and SM 3 and 4.0. Then we can at least run games like BF2, whereas they won't even start on the current macbook. I heard rumors of a macbook gamer edition, but I doubt it will come out. :( sad

    But in all seriousness, I hope that the MacBook i'm expecting to arrive on the 13th, will be an updated version. I ordered it a week ago and it says its to be delivered on the 13th, one day after the alleged announcement. Here's hoping.

  • TheKrillr, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2What sucks is that I ordered my shiny new iPod right before i realized there would be an update soon. So now I have a 5th generation (though I only spent $90 on it brand new), and the 6th gen is coming out. And I was really looking forward to the 6th gen.

    Oh well, time ot find a good-paying job.
