/oh wait that was yesterday. - Oh_Key_Nee_Nam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Do they have OS X in hell? If so, I'm there....
- spymacfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is coming from a man who sold and used blue boxes?
- r©ain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4OK, I'm really confused! I mean, didn't Hell already freeze over when Jobs announced the Intel switch?
And if hell is frozen, how can you "burn" in hell? Doesn't he mean, "Freeze in Hell"? Or could he have meant "Get Freezer Burn in Hell"?
Perhaps someone here can clarify on this one because I've got nothing on this one. - TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When he says "hell", he means that he will come to your house and beat you senseless with an iShovel.
- swanduck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what ever happened to "it's better to be a pirate then to join the navy"?
- leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would pirate software for my Mac, but there isn't much to choose from! I mean... come on... how many copies of Photoshop can one person need? :)
- Stopher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There should be a new comment rating called "fanboy".
- Stopher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I personally believe that people who work for companies that bundle useless software on my computer as well as record companies that charge 15-20 dollars for a cd with one good sone will burn in a much lower sphere of hell than downloaders.

The headline is misleading, that's not what he said! It's close, but the author changed it to make it sound more exciting. Sleazy blogalism. - Rice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's safe to say... we're all going to need some marshmallows.
- Satertek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My research into intellectual property rights in biblical times draws a blank.
- goat2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2haha love how hes scared now that its on a WIDELY ACCEPTED PLATFORM
gl with getting staving off that piracy dude. if microsoft cant do it, neither can you roflmao - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yea, ok, piracy is stealing, right. FFS, are you people stupid? Do you not see a difference between physically taking an item from someone deprieving them of use versus copying something and not paying for it? People copy plenty of things they would never buy otherwise. Are the producers of that product losing profit from these people? They are not paying the distribution costs for these people to get access to the media.
My friend once told me that a reprensentative from Maya once visited the school. He actually went so far as to tell a group of art students that they should pirate the software since most of them couldn't afford it anyways.
When you copy that floppy you enter a world of hypotheticals. Perhaps in the future the producer might have made some money off of you. So technically, they are not gaining (not losing) the profits they would have had because you pirated. Or perhaps, you pirated a product, told 50 other people how great it was, and maybe, just maybe, 20 of them went out and bought the product they would not have otherwise; In which case, because of you, the company has actually made some money on account of piracy. Perhaps they should pay you for the free advertising!
Piracy is far too different from theft. If someone came into my house, copied all my *****, and left, to tell you the truth, it wouldn't bother me as much as them actually stealing the stuff. The real issue is that intellectual property laws need to be revised. Frankly, open source is the answer. - MWWLSE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Didn't Jobs start out by selling boxes with Woz that allow people to make free phonecalls? Hmm
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is "in Hell" any good? Maybe I would like to burn it for friends?
- Paul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Isn't it funny that he isn't threatening anyone. Usually Steve runs around flexing his muscles but this time he's joking. Sounds like something he'd love to have done 20 years ago how can he be really angry. There has never been any better marketing for an OS than when people have to steel and modify it just to have it. I get the feeling we're really not to far away from an osx to install over windows.
- ketadream, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Steve is well known for the early days of apple of treating his empoyee's for *****, having a raging temper and totaly ignoring the fact that he had a daugther... Including being sued for child support. So PoSV quotes are not to far from the truth...
So you sir are the dumb *****...
Now, did someone actualy say "I'm a pirate 52 hours no sleep steve..." I have no clue, but steve was a maniac in the office.
He won't even go down to the Austin support center that handles Apple Care.. He hates the place and if it was up to him it would be removed from funding...
Why does he hate this facility... Cause IBM is in Austin... - siouxmoux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In hell they Run Windoze ME. Now that scary thought.
- p2btech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Joking about it!
As a CEO of a company that is on the rise you don't say things like that regarless of the context it is in. Why? Because the media and everyone always takes it out of context, I guess he hasn't learned that yet. Regarless if it was joking that doesn't condone that type of immature behavior. - Web_Weasel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Too bad it wasn't posted on Monday - Talk Like a Pirate Day. Arrrr!
http://www.talklikeapirate.com/ - thisdude415, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My predictions:
Steve runs for Govorner, and wins.
Steve is invited to become a member of the College of Cardinals, or the group from which a pope is elected.
Steve Jobs is eleceted Pope and his threats materialize. - saggygrandma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He didn't say that pirates will burn in hell... He may have smugly implied it, but it was using wit.
The author have should just qouted what he said and leave the implications up to the audience... - ketadream, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good lord thisdude415,
I'm gonna have nighmares for WEEKS on that... Shudder.. Jobs pope... Good lord next what are you gonna tell me Shwartzenager runs for president?
The end is neigh! - aggies11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0All part of Steve Jobs Master Plan.
All a comment like this does, is inflame people and make them want to pirate "He thinks I'm going to burn in hell, eh? I"l show him!".
Once enough people pirate OSX to Vanilla PC's, his hand will be "forced", and he'll have no choice but to officially release it.
Apple then conquer's the pc market, all part of the master plan, but no one can blame Jobs because the "Pirates made him do it".
Aggies - krahzee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"When he says "hell", he means that he will come to your house and beat you senseless with an iShovel."
ROTFL - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0To those who have never been out from under your daddies wing: try a few months in jail, and it will feel like hell.
If it were not for thieves, there would be no need for TPM. - Lumbeekid06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0well thats not very nice
- Killasta43, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is nothing new got Jobs. He has gone overboard in the past. Did he not see the pirating problems before he decided to switch over to Intel? The only thing that was keeping his OS from being pirated before was the IBM Processors. Now that the Macs are using an Intel processor, he has new problems to worry about. Mise-well release a version of MacOS X for PC now, eh, Jobs? I am sure it would generate more revenue ;). Some people are just too greedy.
- 4z4z3l, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0can we bring our pirated ***** to hell with us, or will it be there waiting? Does hell run on M$ ?
- disord3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hehe, you poor schlubs. How ever will you reconcile your undying love for Jobs and anything to which his empire gives rise and your need to pirate music and movies?
- Lynxpro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd say that "burning in Hell" or being in "Hell" in this case has to do with being outside of the graces of Jobs & Co. Its imagery. Hell is being confined to Microsoft *solutions* or hacking non-Apple hardware to run OS X from that viewpoint.
- history1me, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And then he said, "what... bitch go to hell."
Bitchy and Bitch, that is all I read in this place. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ARRRRR This HAS to come out 2 days after International Talk Like A Pirate Day
Way to ruin it laddies!
I'r goin to have ye head for this laddie! - omnithrope, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"ioncompetence and ignorance"
If you're going to flame people, you may want to do a spell check first. - cptshamrock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ all the people who at @ing @ me
Last time I checked taking a good idea still is pirating. Thats why you can get in trouble for pirating music because its copywritten or intellectual property aka an idea. - emblym, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The title is miss leading. He never said anyone was going to burn in hell. It was a tounge in cheek statement "you dont wanna burn in hell do ya?". Something more like that. But typical media and dumbass kids who submit it to Digg with a completley different quote leaving a different tone. Maybe you should go to English class again.
Jobs Says Pirates Will "[...] Burn in Hell" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0burn in hell eh.....
- PottsyNZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This from the person who converted the free love principle to computers.
No one likes old hippies turned capitalist. Baby jebus crys. - spider-man, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder if this is the same part where the people who talk at the theatre will be in.
- triont, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here's a good question, How is he saying pirates will burn in hell....when he said hell froze over when iTunes came out for windoze? Maybe its a special hell for those who stole os x...........like iHell or something.......Did he have something to do with iRobot?
- trev0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I wonder what os the devil uses?"
FreeBSD, duh. - saggygrandma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I wonder what os the devil uses?"

Prolly windows me, what do u guys think?"
I know for a fact he invented FreeBSD. - cwoolf34, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0actually I used konfabulator back in 10.2
It hogged a lot of ram so I only messed with it for a few minutes.
But the majority didn't use it, you are correct. - gamabunta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He's got a point. I personally don't want to spend the rest of eternity burning with Jobs. :)
He's got a one way ticket for the whole thing with his daughter.
And if we do end up in hell at least we'll be warm in the winter. - ultimathule, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0arrr me matey.
