- brutalentropy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I think the real reason Apple won't put Java on the iPhone is because then people could run Opera Mobile.
- InfamousAtheist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Right... keep dreaming. Jobs will never let Java anywhere near his precious closed system phone. Control freaks don't do things like that.
Digg me down fan boys. - InfamousAtheist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You obviously haven't used a Blackberry in the last two years or so. Blackberry Messenger, Google Maps, Gmail for Blackberry, and JiveTalk are just a few that I use every day.
- santasing, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Not to mention Blackberry's have a completely Java interface, Google Mobile Apps, Opera, Feed readers, the list goes on...
- benitojuarez, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I want java on my moto q so i can play j2me games, ***** *****.
- mntbikeracer1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I would love to have Opera Mobile on my iPhone, that browser kicks the crap out of Safari.
- dssstrkl, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Do I detect a bit of self-interest there? I like how no one gave half a ***** about Java until Apple didn't use it on the iPhone. I usually leave Java disabled on my browser since pretty much no one uses it (except my employer on their timesheet webapp). As for apps, why would Apple use Java on the iPhone when they barely even give it a nod on the Mac? Apple has clearly set themselves on using Objective-C for as much as they can, and C for the rest. Where's all the bitching that Windows Mobile or Symbian or Palm or RIM don't use Java (except for really crappy games)?
