Is this the new iMac keyboard? (Possible Leaked Photos)
engadget.com — That's the rumored, "super slim," brushed aluminum keyboard said to be accompanying Apple's new iMac computer. A forum jockey over at the Rhapsody Apple forum in Hong Kong will sell you the keyboard (s/he has more than one) for 1,200 of the local stuff or about $153.40.

Those are anodized aluminum, not brushed. Subtle difference, but I like the look of anodized aluminum better.

This is some dude trying to sell them. Please, lorax3, RTFA before writing your title next time. - hater2win, on 10/10/2007, -22/+4It looks nice, but it is fake. Apple has been bundling bluetooth keyboard/mouse with their iMacs for a while now. It would be inconsistent/unlike apple to go back to a wired keyboard when all iMacs have bluetooth built in. Also, I would expect ANYTHING new from apple in the way of peripherals to be wireless.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+29I think the iMacs currently come with wired mouses and keyboards, don't they?
- ModemGhost, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23Actually, you're wrong. Apples doesn't automatically bundle a bluetooth keyboard and mouse with the current iMac. It's a $60 add-on. By default, the current iMac comes with a wired keyboard and mouse.
So, the question is: will there be a bluetooth version of this beauty? - Raian, on 10/10/2007, -5/+5It may be slightly illogical, but it's definatley not inconsistent. Look at Apple's iPods now being unable to connect to computers via FireWire for example.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5That was to cut down size for the iPod nano by not having to have a firewire controller, so there was *some* logic to that
- nicc, on 10/10/2007, -6/+0the Nano 1st gen could connect via firewire, but it would not charge the battery.
I dont know about the current 2nd gen Nano. - meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5No it couldn't. The first gen could charge over firewire but not do any data transfer. I think the second gen is the same

- Boeing777, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1Smart move from Apple to release fake pictures that gives a glimpse at future products. They then read the reaction of people and move forward with the most cheering critics. Brilliant marketing practice.
- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24If this is a mock-up, or a knock off etc. It's a very good one.
- zeejay, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16IF this is fake, whoever did it was incredibly thorough, and knows something about hardware prototyping/production, etc., given the info on the underside label. I don't think it's fake, though, and I will definitely buy one if I like how it feels.
Re: Bluetooth vs Cable -- true, but there are still ***** of Macs out there w/o bluetooth, including the low-end iMac. Plus, the fact that this is an iMac keyboard is purely speculation. Maybe it's a new "Pro" keyboard. Or a new higher-end keyboard that will be sold aftermarket, like the old Extended II of days past.
I really hope it has LED backlighting like the MBP's....- diggimator, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The keys look similar to the MacBook keyboard. If it feels the same it should be a hit.
Re: Bluetooth vs Cable - The current Apple Keyboard comes in both USB and Bluetooth wireless flavors, so anything that succeeds it will likely come in the two varieties as well.

- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3May not be fake at all... except funny enough the label lists all the major component manufacturers that built the individual parts. When you buy the actual keyboard, won't have that there. OEMs don't like going out about their clients unless disaster happens (like the iPod City incident which revealed that DigiTimes was right, it was Foxconn making those iPods).
According to this Chinese company Jin Haw does the cables, DaDing (big ding) (China) does the aluminum enclosure, and the internal components are by Hanagawa etc etc. These are not the usual manufacturers for Apple according to the DigiTimes and other far more credible industry rumour mill.
The integrated media remote is also missing, one that is much anticipated. - AlanOrozco, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1All the four legs (or dots, or whatever) look exactly the same. Also, the Apple logo has a wrong light source, and it looks terribly fake.

- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1You are blind?
- streak, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2If the keyboards are truly for sale, there's no way this leak was "manufactured" by Apple, and I hope Apple nails 'em good.
- alwaysmc2, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3it looks really uncomfortable to type on.
sexy though.- streak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I agree, but don't knock it until you try it, which you can do on any macbook.
- moofer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm willing to bet the action is identical to the keyboard on the MacBooks. In my opinion, that keyboard is the best one I've ever owned. The accuracy that I can pound stuff out, and the amount of effort per keystroke is inspiring. If you're near an AppleStore or BestBuy at some point, stop in and check them out. I hope this keyboard is an extension of the MacBook's... I hope - I hope - I hope...
- GreenAlien, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Sony make the best keyboards Ive ever used. For example walk into a computer store and compare the Sony laptops with the rest of the bunch and you'll see what I mean. I've got a 3 year old Vaio and the keyboard is awesome - and the keyboards Sony uses today are even better.
Apple, please just rip off Sony's mechanical/layout design and put a little Apple spit and polish and you've got one customer here.
- ticketmack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Look at all those functions added to the F keys.
http://www.engadget.com/gallery/is-this-the-new-imac-keyboard/328239/
F1 and F2 are brightness up and down, nothing new there, but F4 looks like a power button, and I can't figure out what F3 is supposed to be... anyone? Could be a camera icon, maybe it has iSight functionality attached to it...? F7, F8, and F9 look like they have iTunes functionality attached to them; skip back, pause/play, and skip ahead. How cool is that?- blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5My Hp laptop has that many dual function buttons. I rarely use them. Soo, not very cool at all?
- awhiteflame, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, but you have to hold fn to use them. It sucks. OS X isn't built around too many usage of the F# keys however, so it works the other way around. They do the specified action unless holding the fn key. Which actually makes it worthwhile to use.
- zweben, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1F4 is not a power button. Apple uses the standard power button symbol and that's not it. It looks more like a lowercase i.
What I find interesting is that F3 really looks like it represents Expose, but there's only one of them. Expose has 3 function keys by default in OS X. It's possible that the key is something else and they're using F13-F15 though. - staticoranges, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0It looks to me like the F4 is a clock, maybe for either Time Machine or Sleep. The F3 button does look like a camera, but I'm not sure.
- blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5My Hp laptop has that many dual function buttons. I rarely use them. Soo, not very cool at all?
- pyrates, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Inaccurate. Did the author read the article? You can buy it right now. How is it then possibly leaked photos?

- donwilson2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4"Not Cosmetic Unit"
Know what that means? This isn't what it'll finally look like. And good thing, the metal is ugly.- awhiteflame, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Unless there's a new metal iMac.
- OMGWTFROFLMAOx2, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2No it's still ugly. It will only be slightly less ugly if there's a new metal imac
- awhiteflame, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Unless there's a new metal iMac.
- thatsmyaibo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I like the look and all, but if it is going to be aluminum....oh boy. The ones now already cost $30 and I don't think I'm willing to spend $50-60 on a keyboard. Good thing for people who buy a new Mac though.
- kevnaca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This Is not the new keyboard!
- Konstantino, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Uh, call me crazy, but that keyboard goes all the way to F19. Apple keyboards go to F16, and I'm pretty sure there's not a keyboard out there that goes that high. Additionally, there's no speaker or eject buttons. Unless Apple had a really strange change of heart, this isn't the keyboard.
- staticoranges, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The speaker and eject buttons are on the main part of the keyboard, above the delete key.
- OMGWTFROFLMAOx2, on 10/10/2007, -30/+24Not really :(
- Stig, on 10/10/2007, -9/+152It looks slick as is always the case with apple, but I seriously wonder if it is half as ergonomic as a "normal" keyboard. Those keys are really flat!
- enicholas, on 10/10/2007, -3/+58The MacBook has the same kind of keys. I find them very pleasant to type on.
- bradleyland, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11"I find them very pleasant to type on."
As do I, but what I find really alarming is that I find my MacBook keyboard _easier_ to type on than my current Apple Wireless "Pro" Keyboard. For some reason, if my hands get sweaty, they stick to the keys on the Pro keyboard and cause side tension when typing that makes the action far less than smooth. I've already exchanged it under Apple care once, but the replacement is already exhibiting the same tendencies. You have to press down directly on the keys for them to operate. That's inexcusable in a keyboard. Fast typing isn't a precision exercise, it's more of a moderately elegant falling of your fingers over the keys. - ticketmack, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2LOVE my MacBook keyboard!
- hmunkey, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2Ergonomical doesn't mean pleasant.
- smackhero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6what are you talking about? ergonomics is the science of equipment design to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort. so being pleasant to use would be an essential part of an ergonomic design.
- bradleyland, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11"I find them very pleasant to type on."
- macaddct1984, on 10/10/2007, -15/+9You know what should be their keyboard? The Optimus keyboard... http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/
/runsandhides- corkdorkdan, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3OMG, that is an insane keyboard.
- Terc, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Sure, that'd be a great keyboard if you wanted to spend over $1000 more in addition to your Mac... however, since most people are fine just using a keyboard for typing, I doubt Apple could justify the extra cost, get it?
- macaddct1984, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Totally! And it will be ready March 15, 2007, get it?
- smackhero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1um, what do you think the optimus maximus is for? of course the keyboard can be used just for typing. it's just completely programmable and implements OLEDs on each key so you don't have to memorize different key layouts. some people type in more than one language and thus switch between different character sets, or maybe they want to use the dvorak layout or switch to a different key layout for mathematical notation. and most people have keyboards with function keys and programmable keys, or at the very least use keyboard shortcuts regularly. so keyboards are certainly not just for typing.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Except you already do spend an additional $1000 for your Mac... I mean I've got a $3300 (after tax) MacBook Pro 17" here, and well, I got a basically identical HP for $2000, which I also did.
- KevInTx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19I have to agree with enicholas, my MacBook has the same type of keyboard and I was surprised at how comfy it is to type on.
- Dolomite, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19***** ergonomics, this thing looks pretty sweet.
- tablatronix, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2you would think the flatter the keyboard the eaasier on your wrists it would be, or at least thats what ive found, i have to use flat keyboards. Hell id even buy a glass pane touch one probably.
- smackhero, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3so you buy a computer to look at rather than to use? that's pretty ***** stupid.
i'm sure this keyboard is ergonomically acceptable or superior to traditional designs, otherwise they wouldn't be so stupid as to use it just because it looks pretty--unlike some retards.
- tablatronix, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2you would think the flatter the keyboard the eaasier on your wrists it would be, or at least thats what ive found, i have to use flat keyboards. Hell id even buy a glass pane touch one probably.

(And yes, if you didn't get that I, hate Mr. Mighty mouse. Which is why I resort to these ugly Logitech ones that are comfortable and useable.)- zweben, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Paint it.
- molecool, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Actually, that's what I like about the MacBook Pro keyboard - it's very flat. I hate using the external Apple keyboard - they keys are too high. This one should be perfect - at least for me.
- enicholas, on 10/10/2007, -3/+58The MacBook has the same kind of keys. I find them very pleasant to type on.

- hednoize, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Having a Macbook myself, and finding nothing less ergonomic in using its similar low profile, scissor style keys, I think this is a non-issue, if you prefer that kind of keyboard. Similar products like the Macally Icekey, which is a low profile, laptop style keyboard also exist and many people prefer them to deeper-throw keybeds. The layout of this board is no different than the iMac.Mac Pro boards that ship currently, so I don't see how it's any less ergonomic than the current offering. Personally, if it's real, I'd love to have one for my G5 rig.
- valadares, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34If this is what the keyboard looks like, the new iMac does actually have an "aluminum" case.

- stuma9000, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13I find I prefer typing on the short travel keys of my laptop more than a full-size keyboard. It's only a mater of time before keyboards go this way.
- GreenAlien, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4You're 100% right there. I had RSI and since switching to a laptop for my main machine I havent had any issues. The key travel on keyboards (especially Vaio laptops) are in a different league to the old clunky desktop keyboards.
- tdous, on 10/10/2007, -20/+10Don't be ridiculous. Macs are for looking at, not using.
- DankLogic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Uhmm, are you serious? I am at least 3 times more productive on my Mac than I am on my PC.
Ask just about any person that switches to Mac and you'll get a similar response. I can understand if you're a hardcore gamer or something, but for people that actually like to get work done on their computer, Mac is the only way to go.
I am a web developer but I come from a graphics programming background. PCs are great if you like spending 75% of your time configuring and maintaining and 25% of your time producing. But seriously one could argue this all day. Bottom Line: Go to your local Apple Store and try one out. If you don't like it better than your PC, I would love to hear why.
PS: I'm not an 'Apple Fanboy', I just can't understand why anyone is an 'Apple Hater'- OrangeTide, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Never let it be said Mac users don't have a sense of irony. oh wait nevermind.

- TheCount, on 10/10/2007, -19/+14Guys, it doesn't look all that great or special. The only thing it really has going for it, is that it signals that the imac will indeed be moving to a metal case, which should look pretty good. I mean personally, I like the white imac, but I'm sure apple will make the brushed metal casing look great.

- Powerdrift, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2The Apple logo isn't shaped correctly...
- narutometal, on 10/10/2007, -29/+5I doubt Apple would make something that UGLY. But then again, the Leopard GUI is also not that better.
- tfedullo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+113thanks for not saying this IS the new keyboard and using all caps =)
- wookiecookie88, on 10/10/2007, -8/+45White keys with brushed metal?!....I hope not!
- vandy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2half of Apple's hardware products are brushed metal with white plastic. It's a color scheme they've had for a while and will probably be continued. For reference look at the Mac, Cinema Display, iPod mini/nano/shuffle, Mac mini, and the AppleTV.
- petereality, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4that was my first impression too. slim but ugly.
- DavidandDenise, on 10/10/2007, -15/+6The contrast created by the white and aluminum is just hideous. I'm glad I've got my current iMac.

Price of dealing with discomfort and possibly medical costs due to poor ergonomics: Priceless.
You better have a high credit limit for medical bills if you want your credit card company to help with this...- TheCount, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9No, the keyboard will supposedly come with the imac for free. This guy is charging because he claims to have an "extra", for the apple nerds that want it early (for whatever reason)

- microbreak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Also, check the media keys up top...that is something new to Apple, as their existing keyboards have the volume controls on top of the numpad and do not have playback controls.
- mentor972, on 10/10/2007, -16/+41Ummmm, I think it's too ugly for something Steve Jobs would be approving.
- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3Ugly? It's looks ***** cool!! It may even be real ;)
- omarciddo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I have zero faith in Apple when it comes to peripherals.
- Tetraca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well, he did approve the brushed metal interface.
- flamingmb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+26hope apple comes out with a bluetooth version.
- ThVK, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2That's the deal with this design--where's the batteries go for power?
- Xenctuary, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Probably on the side, where the wired version features USB ports. Still not entirely convinced though, we'll have to wait until August to see if its real.
- bjarkebech, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Hmm... Built in rechargeable battery?
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Don't be silly, Apple would give it a rechargeable non-removable battery. As an added bonus to the consumer, you'll have to ship it to Apple to get it replaced.
- petereality, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1*****
- ThVK, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2That's the deal with this design--where's the batteries go for power?
- Kratisto, on 10/10/2007, -8/+9Looks slick. Too bad it's probably about as ergonomic as a thumb screw.
- tominabox1, on 10/10/2007, -14/+9I dont buy it....not the real deal. (zero ergonomics and ugly as hell)
- cesig, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Riiiiight. And the current Mac keyboard is the model of ergonomics.
- advancedOption, on 10/10/2007, -7/+23It's not an apple... apple doesn't leak. Think about it, did you see an iPhone before it was launched? No. Look at the profile, with the awkwardly placed USB port. Anyone could make this keyboard. Paaaleaaasee people... in the profile... all the keys are at slightly different heights, and they look simply glued to the metal.
- SkullWolf, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Between the confirmation that it was touch screen driven, and the various patents that described a covered-by-screen phone, I think we had a pretty good idea.
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Ummm yes... Yes they do.
- lobbster, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Malt wassberg had an iphone
- meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8We knew about the iPod, the iPod nano, all the iMac redesigns, the powerbook, the name of the macbook pro, the iPod mini, the mac mini, the new airport extreme, the airport express, the iPod hifi, the changes to the cinema displays, the intel switch, panthers features, tigers features, a few of leopard features, some of the iPhones features and the name of the mac pro and what it would look like all way before Apple released any information.
The only thing i can think of that wasn't leaked or hinted at was the AppleTV- awhiteflame, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Heck, we don't even know about it now. No one has ever bought one.
- lemorex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I agree, also the volume keys are missing.
- Xenctuary, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0The volume keys are still there. They are also in a lot more logical position now, with mute preceding the volume down and volume up keys.
- aazn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Steven Colbert had an iPhone...
- myfilthyheart, on 10/10/2007, -8/+5sweet. now bring on the brushed aluminum mighty mouse!
- johnpaul191, on 10/10/2007, -1/+36the lack of the Apple logo on the command key is a red flag.
that aside, it has a potential cool look to it, though it might be a nightmare to use. it did say "not cosmetic unit" across the back. the white plastic and metal is weird, but maybe black (or smoke... bronze?!) keys are coming back? then again if that somehow ties into a new enclosure (for the iMac and/or the tower), it might look good. maybe it will be wooden keys for that Scrabble look?
if somebody makes that, i am sure they would sell a bunch. i have used some of those 3rd party Mac intended keyboards that are flatter (like a laptop) and they are not bad at all. i can't think of the one brand offhand, but Microcenter sells them for $20. we use them in a relatively harsh environment (college radio station).- hotdamn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Why is that a red flag? Nowhere in the GUI of OS X is the command key referred to with an apple, it only makes sense to use only the infinity symbol.
- knugen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Infinity? Place of interest!
- hotdamn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Can't it be both?
- blacklint, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Not an infinity symbol. It's a symbol used to designate a place of interest in Sweden.

- MixedSpleens, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6The Command key is not a deal breaker for me, where I have the problem is:
1. The Control key is too big, infact its bigger than the option key. considering that the UI does not use control as extensively as option, thats a red flag
2. the F17 F18 F19 keys, apple currently goes through F16, with four extra keys that do not have Fnames.
3. F9-F12 have meta functions attached to them, these are the expose keys, unless they are switching them to f16-19 if your using this keyboard, you have 2 functions attached to one key.
4. the play back and forward keys are suspicious as they would be a new addition to the keyboard which has not had those in the past. (not impossible but suspicious)- enicholas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I agree with most of those comments, but I'm typing this on a current-gen Apple keyboard right now and the control key is larger than the option key, so your point #1 is moot.
- MixedSpleens, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2well look at that! I just went over and looked at our current gen keyboard and your right, I mentioned that cause my MacBook made them the same size. thanks for keeping me honest!

- tmarcV2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3It makes perfect sense that the command key has command written on it instead of the Apple with all the noobs who are switching these days (I was one last year). They want them to easily know what the command key is when they call for support, or search the forums
- HesNikke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3and there is no fn key to toggle between the function pictured (volume, brightness, play, VIDEO MIRRORING etc) and Fx like on the laptop keyboards. i agree with your BS call.
- TastyLamp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The function key is where the 'help' key used to be.
- mallardtheduck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0The key next to "home" appears to be marked "fn"...
- sxtxixtxcxh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2also, i highly doubt they'd move the volume, mute and eject keys into the keys reserved for exposé by default.
- diggimator, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They typically add apple logos on the usb cable as well but it was missing in the picture. Who knows, maybe they don't add apple logos on prototypes.
- hotdamn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Why is that a red flag? Nowhere in the GUI of OS X is the command key referred to with an apple, it only makes sense to use only the infinity symbol.
- weirdalexis, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11A simple test : does it have buttons ?
- rimantas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0yep, but less of them. At least height-wise
- Wartyboskfapped, on 10/10/2007, -7/+7Is this the new iMac keyboard? No. This has been another in the series of simple answers to simple questions.
- b3mus3d, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11next week: "what is the meaning of life?"!
- Mathewh, on 10/10/2007, -7/+3bully if you get crumbs into the keys!
- seraph82, on 10/10/2007, -13/+2Even if this was an apple keyboard, who ***** cares. Don't spam digg with pictures of flashy keyboards, ffs. Dugg down for principle.
- soxfan2004, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2@seraph82: Dugg down for being an *****. You need to GOOGLE define:spam
- rfeduccino, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4I'm an Apple fanboy. I love their products. I love the culture. I love Steve. I even love the Apple logo. What I don't love is seeing unsubstantiated rumors about a trivial cosmetic change that (even Apple) *may* introduce to their entry level Macs. And I also don't love the pointless fanboy bashing, either. It's all so very lame. Digg needs a rumor section so I can stop having stories like this one pop up on my RSS feed.
- SkullWolf, on 10/10/2007, -6/+14Bah, I'll take my IBM model M any day...
- GreenAlien, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Welcome to RSI and cheesed of work colleagues/neighbours.
- draegs, on 10/10/2007, -12/+2But the real question is...
does it blend?- tpv2066, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Everything blends with a blendtech blender, now shut the ***** up
- myfilthyheart, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3i dont know... there was the rake incident....

- riskySalmon, on 10/10/2007, -14/+109IM UISNG THE KEYBAORD NOW. ITS GREAT@!
- therealfoz, on 10/10/2007, -10/+77Well then.. I don't want it.
- Apparently there is no apostrophe key
- The s and the i keys must be switched.
- The caps lock must not work.
- The exclamation point and the 'at symbol' must be attached to each other- whiteyMcBrown, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Now THAT is funny
- mossblaser, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1I really do hope it was intentional....
- truNWA, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I feel like a dumbass. I actually stared at the Engadget pics thinking, " What is he talking about?" It finally clicked 10 minutes later.
- therealfoz, on 10/10/2007, -10/+77Well then.. I don't want it.
- InWake, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2holy ***** *****, please be real..
- verbose, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Looks good, although I'm surprised it's taken Apple this long to produce a keyboard that matches their desktop Mac Pro (and Powermac G5), and under the guise of an iMac keyboard at that.
- dchoi22, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3that is so sexy
- tpv2066, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I thik I have to saw ew, while I like the styling, I'm not sure the macbook style keys would lend themselves well to a real keyboard
- Beamerized, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3It's one metre high according to one of the images.
- dimitribouniol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0That kind of ruler is used to divide a meter in 100, 250, 300 etc parts so you can draw things to a scale. So if you divide it in 100 parts (shown here) you get cm and mm for the little lines.
- Beamerized, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I knew that... I use them too.

- YouAreNumber6, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Those cursor keys look confusing.
- colonels1020, on 10/10/2007, -6/+5That's about as sexy as steve ballmer in the shower
- GreenAlien, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Ohh crap. Nightmares for me tonight...
- samuelcotterall, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11I'll believe it when I see it (on Apple.com)
- daxsymbiont, on 10/10/2007, -10/+8omg that sucks.
balls. - theory37, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5That's a scale ruler. Why not use the 1:1 scale, rather than the 1:100?
Ugly. - djagia, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24I dont think that will go very far with ALL THOSE BUTTONS!!!
- GraceHead, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16The real keyboard is a sheet of glass covered screen that detects the pressure of fingers on the glass ... no buttons, just like the iPhone ... because Apple knows what people really want!
- celkin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0iBox: no cables
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-32FUv2vT4
- CharlesP2009, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15I doubt that's real. All I really want from Apple's future desktop keyboards are backlighting like on the PowerBook/MacBook Pro's. Plus I don't really think white plastic keys on aluminum work.
- time4evacuation, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I'm leaning towards fake as well. Why Apple would make an aluminum keyboard and not use the macbook pro's keys is beyond me.
- xprole, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0a ha

*****- bjarkebech, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I hate when apple haters only contribute to the conversation by saying they don't care. If you don't care, why did you take the time to write a comment?
- toxicityj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1its not like Windows haters don't do the same thing in Windows-related articles.

- Damien79, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2its a ***** keyboard get over it. Lame news.
- Dirtyname, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1Jobs could crap in a box and mark it with the Apple logo, and some people would buy it. A brushed aluminum base with white keys makes me think he may have done just that.
- Pensador, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I don't know how ergonomic it is, but I do dig compact keyboards.
- roxics, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I really hope the new iMac doesn't look like just a cinema display. Although I admit it would be nice, especially for dual display setups. I'm kind of hoping to see something totally new. A studio display with iMac parts in it just doesn't seem exciting. Unless it does multi-touchscreen!!
