Ipod was to be used as detonator
macdailynews.com — CNN is reporting on their front page that terrorists were to use an Apple iPod as a detonator.

- SupremeBeing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why not link to the story in at CNN instead of a lame blog. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/10/us.security/index.html
Also, it says MP3 player or cell phone. iPod is assumed because there are no other MP3 players on the market, right?
BTW. Nice pop under ad for 2 free iPod Nanos, you terrorist.- SupremeBeing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I retract my criticism about calling it an iPod as CNN has updated the front page to say iPod (still referring to "a MP3 player" in the article).
I still think it is lame to refer to CNN as reporting something, then link to macdailynews. Shall I assume macdailynews is your blog? Trying to get some $$$ from your pop under ad?

- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought they were going to use a key fob.
- slimnickyy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How the ***** does an ipod or whatever and gatorade blow up a HUGE airliner? I smell bull *****.
- scottlf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't say I understand how an iPod would be used to do this. iPods don't transmit anything wirelessly.
- SupremeBeing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It probably wasn't the iPod itself, but more likely an attachment (iTrip).
- chesterton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does this mean they're going to start confiscating iPods when you try to board a plane?
- AmishJedi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hopefully not, they may just not allow you to bring them as carryons
- imatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I read last night, on ABC, that it was the flash from a camera.
They were going to use a red sports bottle with a false bottom, dyed to be the same color as the sports drink, so even if the security made them drink it, there would be no problem. It was to be detonated by a flash on a disposable camera. I don't know how, but that's what ABC said.
