This is the most ironic part! - dreamvision, on 11/22/2008, -5/+54What a moron. They don' get much dumber than this.
>put a large majority of my free time into ensuring it will be the best application it possibly could be
And no developer who would consider charging a full 99 cents or more for an application would every consider such a thing.
>iPhone developers almost always (99% of the time) develop applications for the App Store in hopes of getting money."
For shame. People actually trying to get paid for their work! They and their families should starve and be happy that their apps were let free by those who know better. Everyone should just let their non-developer dads pay their bills. - RudolfDiesel, on 11/22/2008, -4/+48for some reason I can't feel too bad for that guy...
- rivalius13, on 11/22/2008, -6/+38That guy's an *****.
- Smoko, on 11/22/2008, -1/+30Please don't distribute my application where I don't want it distributed. I put my own free time into it and I'm proud, but don't worry folks, you'll be able to rip people off that aren't me soon!
- dudefather, on 11/22/2008, -3/+31honor amongst thieves?
- lilmentor3, on 11/22/2008, -9/+33yea just like the people who buy $1000 computers and pirate software, movies, shows, games... ***** off mr. high and mighty.
- e68895f, on 11/22/2008, -11/+32Most of the apps in the appstore cost 1-4 dollars per application. People who buy a 500+ dollars phone and then pirate 1 dollar applications are idiots.
- cloudberries, on 11/22/2008, -3/+20Haha! Silly hypocritical *****.

- jparkinson, on 11/22/2008, -1/+10there's a difference between hackers and pirates... the hacks for the iphone make it a much more enjoyable device and they aren't hurting anyone... you just don't have to pay for it.
stealing app store apps is a different thing entirely - svensksvamp, on 11/22/2008, -3/+11douche.
- Delta009, on 11/22/2008, -3/+10Most shareware on the PC is 20$-30$. People who buy a 2500$+ computer and then pirate 20$ shareware are idiots.
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -1/+8I would have more respect for the guy if he said, oh well, ***** happens have fun, but to ask it not be pirated? He needs a spork up his ass so he can stab and spoon his poop to himself.
Ohh wait this is better from Hackulous: With a paypal link: "Your Donations Keep Us Running!"
Doesn't paying for software keep the developers running? - dlan4327, on 11/22/2008, -2/+8Irony. Gotta love it.
- lilricky, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6Hate to tell you this, but this is not the author of this "app". That is Erica Sadun, she is a respected author of several technology related books. Why are you accusing her of being the one who was cracking iPhone apps?
- Meocross, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6Pot and Kettle calling human intelligence back..

- Meocross, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6Sad hypocritical hilarity.
- c89a, on 11/22/2008, -1/+7i love piracy, especially when its pirated by other pirates! GARRRRHHH GENIUS!
- oddturtle, on 11/22/2008, -3/+8what is ironic is that these digg comments are from the same people who defend the pirate bay people - because somehow piracy is okay for music and movies, but not for those hard working, honest iphone developers.
- herrferret, on 11/22/2008, -1/+6The Irony. It is Delicious :D
- apastafarian, on 11/21/2008, -4/+9PWNED!
- mdshort, on 11/22/2008, -1/+6If Photoshop was like $20, I would definitely buy it. As with any other software...
- theonlywizdum, on 11/22/2008, -6/+11People buy $1000 computers and then pirate $500 - $2500 programs because you should not pay more for the software than the actual physical objects that they run on.
- mikelieman, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5The real question:
Where are the OPEN SOURCE applications for the iPhone?
I got a compiler, and the chipset is pretty well known, so what's the friggin' hold up? Why can't I compile my own copy of Firefox, and run that on an iPhone, for instance? Then I could take advantage of the vast library of superior Open Source applications for my needs? - MacParrot, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4Aww did Sadun kill your puppy....again?
The guy who wrote the cracking program is not stealing from big corporations, but mostly just from small developers. He can kiss my ass and I don't even own an iPhone - inactive, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4There are a few open source applications for the iPhone, there are also 100's of free ones.
You can compile your own code and run it on your own iPhone through the SDK. - computershack, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4I hope everything the guy creates gets pirated to hell and back and then maybe he might actually get the point. Somehow, I doubt it though - people like him are just too stupid to make the link.
- RobotBuddha, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5There's stealing, and then there's combining it with hypocrisy. A lot of people who might not mind the first find the second annoying. Or, at least, laugh worthy.
- jparkinson, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5bossprefs
- RobotBuddha, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4Jailbreak it.
- spacebuddy, on 11/22/2008, -0/+3Why would some steal a .99 cent app from a developer?
- thealsir, on 11/23/2008, -0/+3He wants money for a pirating app? Talk about being a hypocrite.
- TomFrost, on 11/22/2008, -2/+5At first reaction it seems like it .. but not to sound elitist, if you're involved in a scene, you take care of your own. Spreading something by a scener in a taboo in most scenes, so I can only assume the Crackulous author was counting on the same kind of respect. And from what I've noticed, it appears that respect IS present in the iPhone cracking scene, at least on some level. All of ZodTTD's stuff gets removed from http://appulo.us for example.
- Matt2k, on 11/22/2008, -1/+4How do you punch people in the face over the internet?
Please tell me how.
Your friend,
Matt2k - Dweller99, on 11/22/2008, -1/+4people who spend 2500$+ on a PC are idiots.
90% of all the PCs in the world could be had for a fraction of that. Gamers systems included, which tend to be near the cutting edge a lot of the time. - Blandyman, on 11/22/2008, -4/+7That is easily the dumbest thing I've ever read.
Regardless of how prolific MrBabyMan's articles are, he submits good stuff. I think you should just chill out, read the ***** article, and digg it if you like it. - macchappy, on 11/22/2008, -1/+4I think that to most people, the MPAA and the RIAA are these big scary corporations that deserve to be stolen from because they are so evil, and because they make enough money as is. An iPhone developer seems more relatable, because it's just some guy at home who's been working on this and needs the money. Obviously, that's not true for all developers, but you get the idea.
- e68895f, on 11/22/2008, -6/+9I can see your point, however, to spend an extra effort to "save" 1 dollar and not give it to the developer is pathetic.
- LeeJeremyR, on 11/23/2008, -1/+4Because free is still cheaper than 99 cents
- c99koder, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2@jferrari you cannot run your own code on your iPhone through the SDK without joining the $99/year iPhone developer program. The SDK will only let you run code on the simulator for free.
- Meocross, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2::rimshot::
- fuse13, on 11/22/2008, -1/+2When I sometimes copy stuff I dont make up some twisted logic to try to convince myself it is somehow "right". I know it is wrong, but I do it anyway. You are a coward hiding behind a flimsy excuse.
- fuse13, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1Every internet news forum reaches a point at which a certain percentage of the population start focusing more on internal dramas and politics than the actual articles. MrBabyWhoCares. Read the damn articles. Comment on them. Stop whining.
- yournightmare, on 11/22/2008, -1/+2"Doesn't paying for software keep the developers running?"
--Yes, it does. But it's the complete opposite philosophy of donationware. - QubitTarutaru, on 11/22/2008, -1/+2I wouldn't call that pirating, especially since it was going to be released for free anyways.
- ramsinks.com, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1thanks! I'll try this cracked app!
